~Two week's later upon their return to the Feudal Era~

“Inuyasha did I really have to leave before I could pack?” Kagome asked as they walked down the path.

“That old man has been giving me weird looks for the last week; I swear that he tried to put a spell on me.” Inuyasha said shaking his head.

“Has he ever succeeded before?” Kagome asked.

“No…”

“Then he never will. Besides when he first saw you, when my family came home.” Kagome said with a slight chuckle.

“He set my hair on fire Kagome.” Inuyasha said running his hand threw his, now, fully recovered hair.

“And he did it with a “piece of paper that had nonsense scribbled on it and should have never worked” as you put it.” Kagome mocked.

“He set my hair on fire.” Inuyasha said stubbornly.

“Kagome!!” Shippo cheered as they set foot in the village. Now that Shippo was getting older he was getting taller, but only a little, apparently he wouldn't grow too much till he turned ten in two years. “I'm so happy to see you! He said that he ate you!”

“You did what!?” Kagome shrieked at him.

“I was being sarcastic to the runt!” Inuyasha said stepping back from the fuming girl.

“He was merely being sarcastic.” Miroku said from in front of them.

“Kagome it's nice to see you.” Sango said with a smile.

“What?” Kagome asked as she looked at the two. “What's the matter?”

“Nothing.” Miroku and Sango grinned at her.

“Shippo they're scaring me, what are they plotting?” Kagome asked looking down at the kit.

“Nothing…” Shippo grinned up at her, and then walked over to Sango.

“Inuyasha, do you know anything about this?” Kagome asked as she looked over at him.

“I might.” Inuyasha said with a smirk.

“Tell me!” Kagome whined at them.

Sango smiled and said, “Kago, now why would we hide something from you?”

“Why are you calling me Kago?” Kagome asked as she followed them. “Only the crazy demon next to you calls me Kago.”

“Hey…” Inuyasha said warningly looking at her over his shoulder. “This crazy demon, just arranged something to make you happy.”

“What is it?” Kagome asked as she walked beside him.

“That.” Inuyasha said nodding up ahead.

“It's a hut?” Kagome asked. “Whose hut is it, it's bigger then the rest?”

“Ours.” Everyone said with a grin.

“Ours?” Kagome said with a smile. “Wait.” Kagome said looking at Inuyasha.

“Yes mine too.” Inuyasha said with a nod.

Kagome smiled at everyone as they walked in. “Thanks guys, this is so awesome!”

There were mat's laying around the edge of the room, all in their favorite colors, and on the back wall their names were written in Kanji. There was also a table in the middle of the room, two windows in the front to let light in.

“Nice.” Kagome said as she looked around. “You guy must have worked hard.”

“Inuyasha helped finish it up the other day, and some of the villagers' helped too.” Shippo said as he led Kagome over to her bed. “You like it?”

“Yup I do. Did you pick it out Shippo?” Kagome smiled at him.

“Yeah, I knew that you'd like the color. You always wear green.” Shippo said as Kagome hugged him.

“Well thanks Shippo.” Kagome said cheerfully.

“As it turns out, Inuyasha has the nicest handwriting.” Miroku said nodding to the back wall.

“Never would have guessed.” Kagome said as she smiled at Inuyasha.

“What did you think that I didn't know how?” Inuyasha asked from his spot leaning against the wall.

“No I knew that you knew how, you could read, you always read my manga over my shoulder.” Kagome said with a shrug. “Either that or you were looking at the pictures.”

“No I was reading…” Inuyasha said looking away from her.

~

It was late now and everyone was turning in. Shippo had fallen asleep in Kagome's lap while the group was talking, Sango's head was drooping, and Miroku had half lidded eyes. Inuyasha wasn't in the least bit tired, seeing as he did only need sleep every few days, and Kagome over the two weeks with Inuyasha had gotten used to staying up late, and waking up early.

Kagome stood up and put Shippo in his bed, tucking him in, and kissing his forehead.

“Kagome come with me…” Inuyasha said as he stood up and headed for the door.

Kagome nodded and started for the door with him. She had gotten used to just listening to him. If she didn't like it she complained and followed him anyway. Kagome caught the questioning glance Sango shot her, and just shrugged before moving the cloth and stepping outside. When she looked around she spotted Inuyasha heading for the forest, and hurried to follow after him.

“How tired are you?” Inuyasha asked when they made it to the edge of the forest.

“I won't be tired for another hour.” Kagome said as she rolled her ankles.

“Good…” Inuyasha said as he let her stretch.

“How much time?” Kagome asked when she finished stretching.

“Thirty seconds.” Inuyasha said with a smirk, “Don't want you getting too far from me. Go.”

Kagome ran dodging trees, thankful that she had asked Kaede for a new top, and some pants that didn't make it look like she didn't have a stomach, because her jeans were not good for running threw the forest. She was wondering when she'd be doing this. Chasing her and Souta, when he got back, around the shrine couldn't have been a descent workout for him, he had probably been bored out of his mind. At least in the forest she had a chance of trying to make it interesting.

Kagome could hear him behind her, he knew where she was going, and didn't want to loose her. She turned and headed for the field, hoping she'd have a better chance if she didn't have to dodge trees, and anything else that was in her way. Kagome couldn't hear him for a while but then clearly heard him yell “Damn it” at the top of his lungs. He had headed for the river thinking that's where she was going, and didn't even bother to follow her sent.

Kagome smiled triumphantly as she made it to the field, only for it to fall when she saw Kouga standing in front of her.

“Come with me Kagome.” Kouga said hurriedly.

“No.” Kagome said shaking her head at him.

“But he's hunting you down.” Kouga said grabbing her hand.

“We're playing a game.” Kagome said trying to get her arm back.

“Let her go Kouga.” Inuyasha said as he stopped behind Kagome. “You're ruining our fun.”

“Don't you mean your fun?” Kouga asked as he growled at Inuyasha.

“No, our fun.” Inuyasha said slowly. “Tell him Kagome.”

“Kouga it was a game, which by the way I was winning.” Kagome said shooting a smirk back at Inuyasha.

“See, even though she's terribly wrong about the winning part, she was having fun.” Inuyasha said as he crossed his arms over his chest. “So let her go.”

“No, you're still dangerous.” Kouga said as he pulled Kagome closer to him.

“Kouga he's not dangerous!” Kagome yelled as she tried to move away from him.

“Kouga you have three seconds to let her go.” Inuyasha said as he flexed his claws.

“Where's your sword dog breath?” Kouga said as he moved Kagome behind him, but still kept a hold of her arm.

“It broke.” Inuyasha said simply. “Kouga, I was hoping I wouldn't have to slaughter you in front of Kagome, but if that's how you want it.”

“I'll defeat you, and take Kagome with me, where she'll be safe.” Kouga said letting go of Kagome and getting ready to fight. “Because Kami knows you can't even keep her happy, let alone safe.”

Inuyasha growl and went to charge Kouga, but stopped when Kagome got in his way. “Inuyasha please don't.” Kagome pleaded.

Inuyasha growled at her motioning with his head for her to get out of the way. “Move.”

“Hmm, I don't think she would have stopped me if I had charged you.” Kouga said with a grin.

“Shut up Kouga!” Kagome yelled glaring back at him. “Be thankful I'm saving your sorry ass.”

Inuyasha growled down at Kagome and pulled her to him. “Beat it Kouga, before I tare your legs off.”

“Kouga! Ayame's back!” Ginta yelled as he ran into the field.

“I'll be back for you Kagome!” Kouga said as he ran off.

“Bitch what did I tell you?” Inuyasha growled as he let her go and glared at her.

Kagome lifted her chin slightly, moving her hair from her neck and whined at him.

“You can bet your life you should be punished.” Inuyasha growled as he bit her neck, and turned around and moved so she was pressed up against a tree. After a few seconds Inuyasha let her go and licked her neck of the small traces of blood, and healing the small wounds. “Kagome I told you not to interfere.” Inuyasha growled as he hugged her to him.

“I know.” Kagome whined. “Just don't kill him, he's stupid, but doesn't deserve to die.”

“If he ever takes you from me, I'll kill him. You won't stop me, and if you try you'll be sorry.” Inuyasha growled as he picked her up.

“I know.” Kagome said as she rested her head against his shoulder.

Inuyasha ran back to the hut, and when he entered he noticed Shippo stir and look at him with wide eyes, then glared at him. “What did she do to you?” Shippo hissed, in attempt not to wake the others up.

Inuyasha let Kagome stand and said, “She knew she should have been punished. I told her she would be if she ever interfered in a fight between me and Kouga.”

“It's fine Shippo.” Kagome said picking him up and hugging him. “I knew it would happen.”

“Come here…” Inuyasha said from his seat on his mat. “Both of you…”

Kagome walked over and sat in Inuyasha lap, her back to him.

“Shippo, I'd never hurt Kagome too bad, even if she deserved it. You know that dog demons are a lot more strict then I am with Kagome. I only gave her a reprimanding bite, though she deserved more.”

“But still…” Shippo said looking up at him, as Kagome ran her fingers through his hair. “Kagome's only human.”

“Kagome's strong.” Inuyasha said leaning back, bringing the other two with him.

“Excuse me I'm sitting right here you two.” Kagome said as she let Shippo get comfortable in her lap.

“Sorry.” Shippo said smiling up at her.

“Sorry.” Inuyasha said kissing her cheek.

Kagome smiled and laid her head back against him.
