Chapter 3

“Hm… Where do I start?” The group was still in the air without any disturbance. Azumi had a thoughtful expression on her face, that is, until she snapped her fingers.

“Kagome, you live in a shrine, right?'

“Yeah” Kagome replied with uncertainty.

“And your grandfather claims to be a priest, am I right?”

`What is she up to?' Kagome thought and replied, “Yes. What does that have to do with any of this?”

“Did he tell you anything about the legend of the Shikon jewel?”

Kagome remained silent for a moment, looking through the window. “Come to think of it, I never really listened to his stories but that one definitely caught my attention.”

“Why?”

Kagome looked at her sheepishly. “Because of the romance.” She had a wide grin on her face while Azumi's mirrored a dull look. “What? I couldn't help it! You know how most of his stories are too. The last time, you gave a silly excuse to use the bathroom. The next thing I knew, you were not there but rather I saw an open window and heard someone shouting, `Free at last!'” Kagome gave her a knowing look while Azumi got Kagome's previous look.

“Come on Kagome. You know how your old man is. Besides I still have so much to do with my life rather than listening to him drone all day. AND you know I hate History! Yeesh!” She did an involuntary shiver.

“So how come you ALWAYS get an A+ while I'm left with a B+?” Kagome gave her a glare. “Come to think of it, you get straight A's in all your subjects! You must be really-“

Azumi interrupted her, “OK Kagome. We're not talking about my education. Back to the jewel, tell me what you know about it.”

“My grandfather told me the Shikon jewel is made up of four souls- The souls of courage, knowledge, friendship and love. It was created by a powerful priestess called Midoriko who sealed hers as well as that of many demons' souls in the jewel. When in the hands of good it turns pink but when in evil, it is tainted, changing the color to black. A priestess called Kikyou, the last guardian of the jewel, was involved with a half-demon named Inu… Yasha… That's strange-“

“You were saying?”

“Alright. Sheesh, don't bite my head off. Anyway, it was said they fell in love, but they betrayed one another. As a result, InuYasha was pinned to the Goshinboku and the priestess's body was burned along with the jewel so that it could be passed on to the next generation. Then fifty years later, a girl from the future was dragged down the bone eater's well by a mistress centipede while she was going to get her cat from the well house. Once went through the well, she found out she was not home anymore but fifty years back in the feudal era. During her stay there, she was attacked and very soon met up with InuYasha. She awakened him, though their first encounter didn't go well at first. The girl mistakenly shattered the jewel, so they had to team up to recover the shards. As the days went by, they gained trust of companions they met along the way. They included a monk named Miroku, a demon slayer named Sango and a Kitsune named Shippou… Azumi I don't feel comfortable anymore. Can I stop? I still don't get it.”

Azumi sighed. “Kagome, the story is the main point of what's going on.”

“Alright if you say so.” Kagome sighed. “They all realized they had the same arch nemesis named Naraku who had ruined their happiness through some way or another. When it got to their final battle, they, as well as the others influenced by Naraku in the feudal era, mysteriously disappeared. The story does not have its ending yet. It is said it's still on. The battle's not over.” Suddenly, it was quiet, except for Kiki's snoring showing she was sleeping. That is, until Azumi spoke.

“Kagome… What's the name of the girl?”

“Ka… Kagome.” Kagome stared at Azumi, understanding in her eyes.

“All of this has to do with the jewel, right?”

Azumi breathed in deeply. “Yes.”

“But… how?”

“This is where we fit in. The story of the feudal era is related to us, especially me…” She stopped speaking.

“Azumi?”

“The battle has begun. The only person missing is you. That's why those guys were after you.” Azumi looked at her with a smirk on her face. “You know all those action packed movies with secret agencies and all those other load of crap?” Kagome nodded. “Well my dear friend, we're in one of those, except this one's real.”

“Kagome stuttered, “You… You mean…”

“Yup. I am a secret agent.”

“That explains the gun! And the car, I mean the jet, speaking of which, can't people see us?”

Azumi shook her head. “Nope. I cast a spell on us. We're in a barrier. Nobody can see us.”

“So that's why you were glowing. Does that mean-“

“Yes. I'm a priestess.'

“But you're a demon.”

“A half demon. But that doesn't have to do with anything… for now. Anyway, about the agency.” Azumi pressed a button on the controls and a big screen appeared, the car/jet increasing in size. On the screen was a logo. It was a symbol of three swords joined at the center, forming a star. In the middle were an arrow, a boomerang and a staff.

Kagome smiled. “Nice logo.”

“Thanks! I came up with it and I designed it.”

“OK I understand the other weapons but why the third sword?” The one Kagome spoke of looked like a normal sword; well, except for the wide blade and the Japanese writing on the blade.

“Blade of fate? That's kinda a weird name, isn't it?”

Azumi sighed. “Actually, it has no name. That's just its description. It belonged to my incarnation in the feudal era. Like present, she was the youngest involved in the war. Putting that aside, welcome to the Wild Dogs Secret Agency a.k.a. WDSA!” Azumi said with a smile.

“Wild dogs?”

“Well… It did start with a dog, well a dog demon.”

“Oh well.” Kagome replied with a sigh.

“These are your fellow team mates ad their status.” The logo was minimized at the bottom right corner and eight black boxes appeared on the screen, four arranged horizontally. Azumi pressed a button on the controls and one of the boxes was opened. The person on the screen was…

“InuYasha Taisho a.k.a. my bad ass brother, who I love and cherish dearly. He's one of the majors in the agency, kinda like those that carry out most of the missions. He's undercover now. I'll tell you why later.”

She pressed another button and another appeared.

“Sesshoumaru Taisho, another one of my sweet brothers, who is too much of a goody goody two shoes, and wishes us dead atimes and-“

“Azumi!”

“OK, OK. He's the head of the WDSA, you know, in charge of what goes on around the place and all the rest.”

“Sango Hiraikotsu. She's the weapons and training master. She's really a tough cookie, you already know that.”

“Miroku Houshi, our sweet darling, lovely, annoying-“

“Azumi! Don't forget we have a kid in the car!”

“She's heard all. Don't worry, thanks to InuYasha. As I was saying, he's the computer genius. He can hack any system anywhere, anytime.”

“Shippou Kitsune, my darling, cute, adorable husband-“

“Hold on! You're married?! At such a young age?! Oh no! Where did I go wrong with you? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Her exclamation woke Kiki up, who just fell back asleep. Azumi had a sweat drop on her head and a blush on her face.

“No! We just play around with it! Anyway, he creates weapons and other useful devices. In other words, he's a technologist.”

“Kouga and Ayame Ookami. It's weird they have the same last name. Anyway, they're stunt men too, technically stunt man and woman. They're on a mission on the other side of the world. Something about a bomb… Oh well.”

“Wow. That's why they've been absent from school.”

“And finally Rin a.k.a. Sesshoumaru's lovely fiancée. She's Sesshoumaru's right hand man. She helps him ease up the tension, especially when it's sexual.”

Kagome had shock written all over her face. Azumi tried to look innocent.

“What? It's not my fault I have good hearing and a keen sense of smell. They disturb my beauty sleep too. InuYasha sleeps like a rock. OK that's everyone.”

“What about you?”

“Well, I'm a technologist. Actually, I'm the head technologist. I create everything. Shippou's my right hand man. I'm also a stunts woman and I'm undercover.”

“For what?”

“I'll tell you. But we've arrived.”

That woke Kiki up.

“Yay! We're home.”

Azumi gave her daughter a knowing smile. “Yes sweetie, we're home.”

Kagome smiled. `She'll make a perfect mother.'

“Fasten your seatbelt Kagome and hold on. Countdown Kiki!”

“10… 9… 8…” While this was going on, the jet was turning back to a car.

“Why's it turning back to a car?! We're gonna crash!”

“3… 2… 1!”

The car started falling from a height of hundred feet. Yet again, Kagome was screaming. One thought was in Kagome's head.

`We're gonna die! We're gonna die! We're gonna die!'

They now very close to the ground Kagome closed her eyes and braced herself for impact.

But there was nothing. No smashing, no explosion. Just a simple bump indicating they landed. Kagome opened her eyes and what she saw left her in awe.

“Welcome to the WDSA Headquarters!”…
