When home, Sesshoumaru searched for Kagome, angered beyond all reason that she could make him this weak and vulnerable. He would not let a human make him this weak! He thought. He would dominate her now, and show himself, that even though he did care for her, he did not need to worry what she thought of him. He did NOT need to feel as though he needed her permission for any action, he would not have her plague his conscience.
Hearing laughter coming from their bedroom, he started to walk in intent on grabbing Kagome right there and mastering her. Suddenly he came to a stop, as the sight before his eyes would be burned into his memory forever. There was Kagome and Rin, sitting on his bed, both wrapped in drying clothes, laughing to one another. Rin was whispering something in Kagome’s ear and she laughed with her heart, as Rin turned back around and allowed Kagome to perform some ministration to her hair, which looked like a braid. Not wanting to intrude on the sight, Sesshoumaru just stared in awe. Suddenly, sensing he was there, Rin looked up, and smiled.
“Sesshoumaru! You are home!” She cried joyously and jumped from the bed running over to hug him. “I missed you so much! Did you miss me?” She questioned like any child would.
“Yes Rin.” He answered simply.
Although she was hugging him, he never put his arms around her to complete the embrace. He felt it would leave him open to heartache if Rin decided to leave one day. Looking over to Kagome, he saw her smiling at Rin, but never once looking into his own eyes. Something is different Sesshoumaru thought. She is hiding something. Suddenly he realized he heard Rin ask a question about going to the garden for a walk. Wanting time to find out what Kagome was up to he agreed and told Rin to get dressed. As Rin left the room, he walked over the bed, took Kagome’s chin to lift her face to his. “What are you hiding?” He whispered.
“Nothing. I was just thinking is all.” Kagome replied, even though it was partially the truth. She had been thinking about Inuyasha. Of all the things he has done to her, she still loved him with her soul. She had released him from the God tree, found the Shikon shards with him, defeated Naraku, helped him grieve when he buried Kikyo, and still she loved him. Sesshoumaru was someone she cared for, but she realized finally, she could never stay with him, even if Inuyasha never said he loved her. Sesshoumaru had awakened a need inside her, that only Inuyasha could now fill. She thought about her plans for tonight. After one more passionate night with the youkai, who turned her into a true woman, she would leave and try to find Inuyasha. She did not want the brothers to fight over her. Not after everything that has happened. She could not bear to see either one of them injured or killed.
“Is that all? Sesshoumaru said bringing Kagome out of her thoughts. He was still curious to what caused her sudden silence. Before she could answer, Rin came back into the room ready to go for a walk in the garden with the two people she cared about. “Shall we?” He asked Kagome and held out his hand to her.
“I still need to dress, I will be right back.” She replied as she walked into the bathing room. When she was in there, she thought of how she could escape this place without him noticing. Maybe out in the garden there would be a way. With that thought, she returned to the bedroom, Rin grabbed her with one hand and then grabbed Sesshoumaru’s with the other. It would hurt to leave Rin, but the girl was happy even before she got here, in time she might forgive her for leaving.

As Inuyasha allowed Kaede to treat his wounds, he asked her if she had come to a decision on the Shikon no Tama yet. “Inuyasha,” Kaede said. “I told you I must ask the gods for an answer, your day is not up yet. Please do not ask me again until the morning.”
With a snort he accepted her wishes. As he left her hut to get some air, his thoughts wondered to Kagome. Her eyes, her hair, her smile. He was remembering every beautiful detail about her, wishing she was there to hold. What Sesshoumaru did was unforgivable, but he would give anything to have her back right now in his arms. To whisper his love to her, and kiss her tender lips. He realized he had done wrong with her, in so many ways. Yet, he wanted to fix them in any way he could. If he ever had the chance again. He thought sadly. Even though he might get a youkai power and have the assistance of friends, there was no guarantee he would win against his full blood brother. Shaking his head to clear such horrible thoughts, he laid down on the grass looking at the sky and just dreaming of the past with Kagome. Every time she held his hands, every time she tweaked his ears, even when she told him to sit, it was all wonderful memories to him. Kagome….Kagome… He thought until he drifted to sleep.

Quietly dressing after Sesshoumaru fell asleep, Kagome snuck out the door. Remembering which way he took through the castle to get to the garden she moved softly in fear of his senses awakening and realizing she was gone. Once outside, she took a deep breath, and ran as fast as she could into the forest. She didn’t even know how long she ran, she was afraid to look back in case he would be there, right behind her, angered that she left him alone. Suddenly she tripped and fell hard onto the ground, wondering what it was since she looked up and saw she was in the middle of a field.
“Baka!” She complained.
“K..Kagome?” Whispered a familiar voice. She closed her eyes in case she was dreaming. When she felt someone touch her face, she looked into very familiar and warm amber eyes.
“INUYASHA!” She screamed, as she put her arms around him never wanting to let go. She felt his arms squeeze her tight to him as he said her name over and over. Holding her like something precious he lost and that he had found.
“Kagome, I was going to come and get you. I am so sorry for everything. Are you hurt, Kagome? Kagome look at me please. I need to know, are you hurt?” Inuyasha pleaded.
Tears were now streaming down Kagome’s face, yes she was hurt, but not in the way he thought. Her heart hurt, she had done something horrible and never thought about the consequences. Sesshoumaru had taken her body, and Inuyasha did not know. She never thought about whether he would take her back after he found out. As far as she knew, Inuyasha thought her kidnapped for Tetsugia. Oh, god, how would she be able to tell him! Feeling him shaking her, she stared into his eyes and cried harder. “ Oh god Inuyasha, I missed you. Never let me be so stupid again about walking by myself. I am sorry!”
He hugged her to him, coming back to the reality that she had run away from Sesshoumaru, he knew they must leave and fast. “Hurry, we must leave before he finds you gone and searches for you.” He noticed as she tried to get up how tired she seemed, how drained. My god, what did he do to her? “Wait, jump on my back we will move faster that way.” As he helped lift her on, she put her arms around his neck and nuzzled her face into his robe. Swiftly moving through the trees he had no idea where they could go, he was sure Sesshoumaru would try and take her back. He would be damned if he let that happen! He got her back, and now he would keep her!

Waking up to a sense of foreboding, Sesshoumaru moved his hand towards Kagome. Empty, cold is all he felt before he jumped up and ran following her scent. How dare she leave him! How dare she the bitch! He gave her everything he could, and she left him! Running out into the garden he could smell the fear she had. As he came into an empty clearing he suddenly sensed someone else. Inuyasha! She went running back to him after all they had shared. He should have killed that hanyou when he had the chance! Instead he was weak and let him live. Damn him. Damn her. He would have her back, she was his. Yet suddenly he grew calm as a sinister smile touched his face. He would have his revenge on them both!
