A/N: Thanks for all the wonderful reviews, sorry to keep everyone on edge, but like I said this is a angst and suspenseful romance story with twists and turns everywhere. Also I notice an inconsistency in my story about Kagome being mated with Sesshy. Anyway, I just wanted to verify that even though they “Mated”, Sesshy forgot one important thing, and that was to actually mark her as his… So technically, she isn’t Sesshy’s bride, just his lover. Anyway, onto Chapter 10.
As a few weeks passed in Kouga’s den, Inuyasha woke up early and went to find Kagome. He had made a decision about whether or not he should tell her how much he loved her. Whenever he saw her helping out the women of the pack, she always had a smile and kind word for each of them. She was always so beautiful. He noticed though that lately it looked like she was becoming restless, he knew she missed her family, and all the people of Kaede’s village. Maybe it was time to go there and let them know everything was okay with them. Besides, he wanted to go back and see everyone’s face when he told them that Kagome and him were life mates. Even though he didn’t ask her yet, he knew she would say yes. She loved him that much, and he loved her. Though his brother still had a small place in her heart, he didn’t care. He loved Kagome, just the way she was.
They haven’t heard, or sensed anything from Sesshoumaru lately which was strange. Perhaps, Inuyasha thought, he was biding his time for something. In that case, they must hurry back to the village and let everyone know what was happening and to be prepared for the worst. Seeing Kagome talking with Ayame while preparing a light breakfast, she suddenly straightened and ran out of the den getting indecently sick. Hurrying after to her to find out if she was okay, Inuyasha ran to her side and noticed a sudden change in her scent. Oh my gods, she is pregnant! Inuyasha cried into his mind. Why haven’t I noticed this before?
Laying a hand on her shoulder after she was done, Inuyasha said kindly to her, “Kagome, how long has this been going on?”
With wide eyes Kagome looked up to Inuyasha, “You.. You know? It has only been a few days that I have been sick, but I think I knew before then. I am so sorry Inuyasha! Please forgive me!” She fell into his arms crying.
Holding her to him he took his fingers through her long hair trying to calm her. “Kagome, why are you sorry? I think this is wonderful!! You are going to have my pup!”
“What? You are happy? Oh, Inuyasha, I love you.” Suddenly she stared at him when a disturbing thought came to her. “Inuyasha, the pup… it may not be yours. I mean, Sesshoumaru, could be…” She let off there when Inuyasha put two fingers on her lips to silence her.
“Kagome? I don’t care. I woke up early today to find you and tell you something.” He hesitated for awhile and stared into her eyes. “Kagome, I love you. I love you so dearly. I am sorry I have never said anything before, maybe if I did, these things would not have happened. Kagome, would you be my life mate?”
“Inuyasha, I love you too. Yet Sesshoumaru said I was his mate. Wouldn’t you be breaking some youkai law?” She asked cautiously. She wanted nothing more than to be his life mate, but she did not want anymore problems than there already was.
“You and him mated Kagome. Yet, my foolish brother forgot one thing. He never left his mark on you. You are free to be with me, and if you choose to be my life mate, Kagome, he can not ever take you from me. Ever!” Taking her into a strong hug, he kissed her head. “Kagome, you are and always will be mine.”
“Oh, Inuyasha. Yes, I will. I must ask something of you though. If…” She cried. “If the pup turns out not to be yours, will you love it? I mean, how can you love something created by someone you hate?”
“I could never hate the pup Kagome. Other than I know it is mine.” He grinned with pride. “The pup was not created by someone I hate, it was created by you. You, the woman I love, and for that I would love that pup with all my heart. It doesn’t matter who helped put it in your womb. It is part of you.” He held onto her as her tears turned to sobs. “Kagome, my dear Kagome.”
“Inuyasha, I love you so much. I didn’t know what to do when I found out. I thought if I kept it a secret you wouldn’t notice. I thought if you didn’t think the pup yours you would turn away from me in disgust.” Kagome sobbed.
“Did you think I wouldn’t notice eventually Kagome? I am after all a hanyou! Besides, your body would show it eventually. Lets go and tell Kouga. I am sure he will be happy about this, he has only been pressing me to tell you and ask you the last few weeks. He is starting to get on my nerves acting like a mother hen to me.” As he said that Kagome started to giggle.
“Seeing Kouga push you around is something to see.” Kagome stood up wiping off her kimono. Today was a wonderful day! She was going to have a pup that Inuyasha was happy about. Now, Inuyasha finally admitted he loved her! She was going to become his life mate. Suddenly she had a thought. “Inuyasha? Would today be too soon to become my husband?”
“Of course not! Besides I wanted to leave tomorrow and get back to the village. Think of Miroku and Sango’s face when we tell them that not only are we mated, we are having a pup!” Inuyasha said with a triumphant grin.
“Sango! Oh no, I forgot to get her the medicine for morning sickness! Ugggh, I need some for myself now too. I never knew I would be so sick in the morning.” With that said, Inuyasha lifted her in his arms and carried her into the cave.
All the while she was squealing at him. “Inuyasha, I am pregnant not incapable of walking!”

That night, Kouga and Aymae were holding a celebration for the couple. Kagome was pampered by the female youkai and taken to a hot spring where they bathed her in scented oils and herbs. Inuyasha was taken out hunting by the men. The gathering lasted long into the night as everyone congratulated the couple, and even wished them a healthy puppy in the future. By the time Kagome and Inuyasha were alone, they were so flushed from the excitement, laughing still at what Aymae did to Kouga when he asked to give Kagome a kiss.
“I can’t believe he tried to kiss me like that in front of her!” Kagome whispered laughing.
“Yes, well if Aymae didn’t do something when she did, I was about to put wimpy wolf in his place.” Inuyasha growled lightly.
“Still…” She said giggling, “I can’t believe she dumped all that water on his head!” After that happened Ayame whispered a few words into Kouga’s ear, causing him to blush. “If only I knew what she said to make Kouga blush so red.”
“Oh I know Kagome,” Inuyasha said pointing to his ears. “Lets just say he was pretty much told he would be cooling off alone tonight.”
“Ohh, poor Kouga.” Kagome said covering her mouth to stop a giggle from escaping. Suddenly Inuyasha grabbed her about the waist and kissed her.
“Enough about that wimpy wolf. You are my woman.” He growled into her ear. Gently swinging her around they fell to the ground, with her on top. Her black hair falling around them like a silk curtain. Reaching up, Inuyasha outlined her lips with a long nail carefully. “You are so beautiful. I can’t wait to see you heavy with my pup. I think it will enhance your beauty even more.” Feeling a tear fall onto him, he looked into her eyes and saw her smiling.
“Inuyasha, I love you. Don’t ever let me go.” Kagome cried.
With that said Inuyasha flipped them around so that she was underneath him. Kagome reached up to bring his head to her for a soft kiss. She felt his hands starting to undo her kimono already. Eagerly she joined in to remove his robes. He was making her feel so hot, every piece of her being was on fire. His clawed hand gently started to caress her breast.
