After Kagome had lunch with Bankotsu she had so much stuff to do. She had to go grocery shopping at 3 different stores, pick up Shippo, and cook dinner. Then after that: see Koga at the hospital and meet his lawyer there. Kagome sighed at her chores and waited to get to the first grocery store. Bankotsu gave her a long list and she went into the store. Bankotsu had dropped her off at one of the most fancy grocery stores in town. Kagome had only come here when she had to cook for some of Koga's rich friends. The selection was wonderful and the prices were very high. Kagome had one of the many “store hands” help her with her long list like Inuyasha had instructed. The lady helping her was fast and Kagome just waited in the lounge as the lady put things from the list into the cart. Kagome would have never thought of such a thing, having someone else shop for you as you waited in a luxury lounge. When she came here before she found things for her self and pushed her own cart. The store hand told Kagome “Master Inuyasha would have me fired if I made you do any work, now go in the lounge and relax.”

A man carried Kagome's bags to the limo and even helped her into the car. The two other grocery stores were the same. Bankotsu drove Kagome back to Shippo's school and picked him up. “How was your first day?” Shippo asked.

“I felt like I hardly did anything! All I did was hang out in lounges and waited for other people to do MY chores,” Kagome explained.

“Do you want me to tell Inuyasha to give you harder chores?” Shippo asked confused.

“Oh no! I mean… I guess. Inuyasha hired me to do things not watch people do things,” Kagome said.

“Well things will get harder I bet, Inuyasha is probably going easy on you on your first day.” Shippo said, “ I've never been in a grocery store before, what is it like?” Shippo asked.

“Never?” Kagome asked and Shippo shook his head, “Well it just has a bunch of uncooked food on shelves,” Kagome explained.

Shippo nodded and they got to the house. Kagome quickly cooked dinner so she could visit Koga and his lawyer. Kagome ran out of the house and to her car. Kagome drove in the carpool lane, she was so late. Kagome walked quickly into Koga's hospital room. She covered her mouth, he was still in his bed with his eyes closed and connected to a lot of machines. Even though she saw it before it was still a shock to her. She uncovered her mouth to greet Koga's lawyer.

“Your late,” Is all he could say.

“Um… sorry.” Kagome said. Kagome held her hand out to the man, “I'm Kagome, Koga's fiancé,”

“Hakudoushi” He shook her hand, “Well I see that your new life together has hit a bump in the road.” Kagome gasped, “Don't expect me to have good people skills, I'm a lawyer and a good one at that. I'm here to help you with you case, not to make friends,” Kagome nodded.

The lawyer began to talk about their case, insurance, and stuff like that. But Kagome kept looking at Koga; Maybe I'm bad luck or something. The lawyer's right, he was never in the hospital before and now… after he proposes to me he's in the hospital. Kagome sighed and a tear rolled down her cheek, maybe we're not meant to be…

Inuyasha finally got home and ate dinner with Shippo, “How did she do?” Inuyasha asked Bankotsu who sat on a barstool.

“She did great, she's sweet too,” Bankotsu said and span in his seat like a child. He thought about the lunch they had. “She said I don't have to talk all fancy around her.”

Inuyasha nodded and looked away from his food, he saw the dreamy look on Bankotsu's face “Don't even think about it,” and said kept eating.

“About what?” Bankotsu asked and stopped spinning.

“You know “what”! She has a fiancé,” Inuyasha said while he was eating.

“Don't have a cow! Besides if you like her you have first dibs,” Bankotsu said and picked up an apple and bit into it.

“Don't be and idiot, I have a fiancé too!” Inuyasha said and stopped eating.

“Sure sure! I wouldn't blame you if you liked her. She's hot!” Bankotsu said and took another bite of his apple.

“Shippo go eat in the living room for a sec,” Inuyasha said and Shippo picked up his food and left the room. “Don't say things like that in front of Shippo you idiot!”

“I was just kidding, but you know she's still really good looking.” Bankotsu said and jumped off his chair.

“Whatever! Your such a kid!” Inuyasha said and served himself more food.

“Thanks!” Bankotsu said and chuckled; they heard the front door open.

“I'm back!” Kagome called.

“We're in the kitchen!” Inuyasha and Bankotsu yelled at the same time.

“Behave!” Inuyasha hissed at Bankotsu.

Kagome walked into the kitchen, “Hey, how was the dinner? Where's Shippo?” Kagome asked Inuyasha and looked around and saw Bankotsu. “Hey, what you doing here?” Kagome smiled.

“I live here too, but I live in the servant's quarters.” He said.

Kagome looked confused, “Why don't I live in the servant's quarters?” Kagome asked Inuyasha.

Inuyasha seemed at a lost for words, “Because, you're the nanny, you need to be near Shippo.” Inuyasha explained quickly and ate his food.

Kagome smiled and nodded, “What were you two talking about?”

Bankotsu was going to say something but Inuyasha shot him a deadly glare, “Nothing, just talking about your first day,” Inuyasha said.

“Oh, I'm not in trouble am I?” Kagome asked and put her purse on the kitchen table.

“No, I was telling “Master” Inuyasha how good you were doing,” Bankotsu said and Kagome smiled at him.

“Oh yeah, Inuyasha, do I have to call you “Master” too?” Kagome asked.

“No, you don't, Kaede calls me that because my dad made her.” Inuyasha said.

“What about Bankotsu?” Kagome asked and looked over at Bankotsu who was picking off of Inuyasha's plate. Inuyasha pushed his hand away and Kagome giggled.

“He uses it to make fun of me,” Inuyasha said as he finished his food.

Shippo came into the kitchen, “Kagome! I thought I heard you!” Shippo said and a smile spread on his lips.

“Yeah, I just got back and was talking to the guys.” Kagome said.

“The dinner was really good!” Shippo said and put his plate in the sink.

“Thanks!” Kagome smiled proudly, Inuyasha went to the sink, “What did you think Inuyasha?” Kagome asked and bit her lip.

Inuyasha look around and saw everyone was looking at him, “It was fine, but Ramen would have been better…”

“Oh,” Kagome looked down at her feet, “I didn't know you liked Ramen. I promise I'll make it next time!” Kagome said with an anxious look on her face.

“Kagome can you help me get ready for bed?” Shippo asked. Kagome nodded and followed Shippo upstairs.

Bankotsu watched her go upstairs until she was out of sight, “What did you say that for!?” He hissed at Inuyasha. He didn't want Kagome to hear him.

“Why? What did I say?” Inuyasha asked completely unknown to what happened.

“You crushed her!” Bankotsu yelled.

Inuyasha looked confused and then got frustrated, “Would you just tell me what I did already!?”

“She wanted your approval on the dinner and you just put her down!” Bankotsu explained.

“Well how the hell was I suppose to know?” Inuyasha yelled, “Scratch that, why the hell should I care! I'm paying her to do her job well! Not to say, `Oh, don't worry you'll do better next time,' that's not my job!” Inuyasha yelled.

“Your hopeless… I'm going to bed,” Bankotsu shook his head and went out the back door to the servant's quarters.

“Well see if I care!” Inuyasha yelled after him.

Kagome came down stairs to see what the yelling was about, “You know this house echoes,” Kagome pointed out, “Shippo just went to bed so keep your voice down.

“Don't tell me what to do,” Inuyasha mumbled.

“What was that?” Kagome asked while she was in the kitchen cabinet.

“Nothing, what are you doing?” Inuyasha asked.

“Making a snack, did you want some instant Ramen? There's some in the cabinet here,” Kagome said.

“Um, sure,” Inuyasha said and sat on a barstool.

Kagome put a pot of water on the stove and made herself a sandwich. She sat on the barstool next to Inuyasha with her sandwich but didn't eat it.

“Well?” Inuyasha asked but she looked confused, “Aren't you going to eat it?” Inuyasha asked.

“Oh, I was going to wait till your food was ready,” Kagome explained.

“Okay, thanks,” Inuyasha said and blushed a little.

“Sorry I didn't make what you wanted for dinner. Maybe before I make dinner I could call you to ask what you want,” Kagome said.

“Yeah, I guess you could do that,” Inuyasha said.

Kagome got up to pour the hot water into the cup of instant Ramen. She gave it to Inuyasha, “Be careful it's really hot,”

“I know that!” Inuyasha snapped.

“Sorry,” Kagome said calmly and giggled.

Inuyasha and Kagome ate quietly, “You did really good today,” Inuyasha said after a while. He blushed.

Kagome smiled, “Thanks, I'll get better just wait and see!” Kagome said happily and Inuyasha couldn't help but smile with her.
