"Whats wrong with you Kagome? Are you okay?"
"Who are you? Why do you have dog ears?!"
"What do you mean who am I? Whats wrong Kagome?" His voice was demanding.
Who were these people? Were they even people? A small child had harry legs, and fox feet. Another male had dog ears on top of his head! Where was she?
"InuYasha," A man adorning a purple robe, said, as he placed a hand on top of his shoulder. Prayer beads were wrapped around his right hand. Why? "please, keep calm. Kagome obviously can not remember anything." He continued.
InuYasha.... that seemed so familar. Like it belonged with her. Every one here seemed so... known. Yet at the same time, Kagome was at a loss of names and memorys.
*************************************************************************
The ears. Ofcourse. Dog-Demon. Wait- does that make him a demon?
"Is... Are you..."
"Spit it out."
"Are you a demon?"
'She doesnt remember... She really doesnt remember! Why cant she? Does this mean that she has forgotten about every thing? About Shippo and Sango and Naraku... About us? Has she truely forgotten about me?'
************************************************************************* "Why cant you remember Kagome?" The strange child said.
"I... Uh..."
"Have you forgotten about me Kagome?" Tears welling in his eyes.
"Im sorry. Who are you? All of you."
*************************************************************************
Kagome had awoken, and forgotten her memories in another world. Her gashes that once looked like some one had struck her, now resembled that of a burn. Five claw marks down her arm. The gashes were deep, but sealed themself up fast enough, thanks to Kagomes medication. She had ran a fever soon after she awoke. It was the herbs that Kaeda had given her, that she had helped make, that brought it down. All in all, they had spent a week and a half in that village.
***************************************************************************
InuYasha had not talked to Kagome other than the "Are you ready to go?" he had said eariler. It was all too awkward. He felt flustard and his heart ache with sadness. It was Kagomes body, she looked the same, smelled the same, but she was different. She seemed much more dependent on every one around her. Where was Kagome? His Kagome?
*************************************************************************** **
"Sango....?"
"Yes Kagome?" She replyed.
"Please... Tell me... about every thing."
*************************************************************************** ***
"Sango please, help me remember. I hate being like this, haveing no idea who or what is. The only thing that seems familar are my dreams."
"Your dreams?"
*************************************************************************** *****
"Yeah. I can hear you in my dreams."
"You can?"
"Yeah. Its all faded and muffled. But I can make you out. And Miroku too. Some times its Shippo but..."
"What about InuYasha?"
"I can hear his the best. Its the one that comes up most often too, when I do hear them. But as quickly as it comes, it goes."
*************************************************************************** ********
"Some times I hear a mans voice. I cant tell who it is. I have never heard it before... I dont think..."
*************************************************************************** *********
"What about Shippo?"
"I cant tell you that. I joined the group long after you had met up with him. You would have to ask InuYasha."
"Why is he after the shards? Let me guess, Naraku?"
"Yes. Fifty years ago, InuYasha and a prestist were "In love" and through Narakus deceptions, Kikyo had shot him with an arrow. She was the gaurdian of the jewel, and InuYasha wanted it to become full demon. InuYasha, because he was shot aginst a tree, was pinned to it, dormaint, for fifty years... Until you came."
"Me? What did I do?"
"You woke him up."
*************************************************************************** *********
"What else would you like to know."
"InuYasha... What happened to the prestist?"
*************************************************************************** **********
"Oh. Where is she now?"
"I am not sure. She wanders the country, looking for shards. We some times meet up with her."
"Have I met her?"
Sango looked around nerviously. InuYasha winced from high above.
"You have."
*************************************************************************** ***********
"What?" He asked as he swallowed hard.
"Will you... Will you please answer some questions for me?"
"Im not really sure..."
"Please." She said softly. He nodded in reply.
"Thank you!" Kagome said, excieted. This was all fun and games to her. She then wrapped her arms around him, then in the same second, pulled away with such speed, it could make InuYasha look slow in compair.
"Uhh... Kagome..."
"I'm sorry. It just felt... right to do. I am sorry."
"No, dont be. Its okay."
*************************************************************************** ************
"So what do you want to know?" He said carefully.
"Every thing you have to offer."
*************************************************************************** *************
"For starters... How did we meet?"
Pain of memories came rushing to him. Yet at the same time, he smiled. The memory was both a pleasnt one and sad.
"I was sealed to a tree from a miko named Kikyo. You came and saw me. Some how, I awoke."
A flash came to her. A mans silver hair blowing in the breeze.
"You dont know why?" She said, ignoreing the pain it brought.
"No, I dont." He admitted.
Another flash of light.
"You look pretty dumb there, Kikyo. The Kikyo I know wouldnt waste time."
"Kikyo! Kikyo! Kikyo! Who ever she is, shes not me!"
"Yeah, your right. Kikyo was much prettier."
*************************************************************************** ***
"Did I... Do I look like Kikyo?" She asked.
He flinched. But in the same second....
"Kagome! Do you remember?"
"No... not really. I just thought I did. Just my imagination I guess."
"Oh." He said as he relaxed some what.
"So im guessing I do?"
"Did."
"Did?"
"At first glimpse you did. But now, after I know you so well, you really dont look anything like her. You two are completley different."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"No." He was careful to say. "No, its not."
"So we were close? Before I... Before I forgot?"
"Yeah. Very close."
*************************************************************
"A witch wanted to use her miko powers, so she brought her back to life. She walks around in a clay body and souls from the dead."
"Oh my." She said. "Do you still see her?"
"Some times." He admitted. The words he said now seemed more of a statement. No hurt, nor meaning to them.
"Oh, I see."
**************************************************************
"We... We had more but Kikyo... She took them."
"Why would she do that?"
"Im... Im not sure." He admitted. His hand became nervious.
"Please, continue." She requested, as she put a hand on his to sooth his fidgeting habbit. He relaxed instintly.
"You let him explain, and found out that Naraku is the cause of his wind tunnel."
"He cant be all bad. He could have sucked us up into that thing if he really wanted to. Lets give him a chance to-"
Kagome felt a hand stroke across her butt. She jumped aback into InuYashas arms, as he caught her.
"You just blew your last chance pal."
*************************************************************
"Oh. How do we get them?"
"Kill off or battle who ever has them, most of the time."
"Thats aweful."
"No, its not. If they have them, then they become corrupted and they lose their minds."
She was pulled into a hug.
"I was scared. I thought I was going to lose you."
"And you and I were close?" She asked once more.
"Yeah. You were my first real friend Kagome." He said, as he turned to face her. She smiled.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome stared up into the sky. The stars burned brightly in the velevt that hung above them. It was a deep blue, almost a black. But with thanks to the moon, it was not dark, just dim. Kagome closed her eyes once more as her head began to feel a slight pang.
"Huh!"
"What? Whats wrong?" A hanyou asked as he ran through a door way of a hut.
"Nothing. Its just the stars." She said.
"Yeah. what about them?" He asked in a slightly irritated tone.
"Its just that there so beautiful. There are never this many back in my time." She said, looking into said sky.
"Really?" He asked, his tone more relaxed, and interested.
She winced at the twinge of pain that was brought on by remembering. She had been haveing... flash backs? What ever it was, she had been haveing them often. Small things, not enough to tell her about her 'friends', just enough to know that they were.
In her dreams, the colors blended. The monk... Miroku? He was a deep purple, and it often, when she heard his voice, was that of calmness. It resembled him in truth. He was a calm person, very content, considering his fate. Kagome, afte hearing that Miroku had kidnapped her, always tended to stay away from him, if it was just them. She wondered how she had ever been comfortable near him.
Sango was blend of pink and green. At the times when she was to speak, it was high pitched, and often loud. Sango could get that way some times, she had been told. Espically when it came to the monk. Even more so, the monk and other women.
The fox kit, Shippo, was an orange. When she heard him, it was more often than not, he was speaqking in a happy, joyful tone. And to tell the truth, he was always that way. From what she had seen, Shippo was just a child.
Then there was InuYasha. He always came as a red. A crimson. she was not surprized. when she heard his voice... He seemed arrogent. And she could see it. He kept mostly to himself, except for today, when they talked. He stared at her with sad eyes. It was as if they were pleading with her to remember... Begging her to reclaim what she lost. How close had they been? Close enough for him to care that she was missing her memories, yes. But close enough that he needed her to remember, not people and places, but him. Prehaps... He needed her to remember him. Did he need her to be more than this 'jewel detector' as she had remembered. Did he need her to love him?
The thought flew through Kagomes mind. She stood up, and walked over to her sleeping bag. she felt its texture. It was smooth, yet thick. SHe closed her eyes, as a memory came haunting back at her. As much as it hurt, she smiled.
InuYasha watched from high above, sitting on the brach of a tree. He saw Kagome touch her sleeping bag - their sleeping bag- and smile. He felt his heart rise with hope. Slowly, he watched in awe, as she raised her hand up to her stomach. Her eyes closed, as she took in deep breaths. She shook hr head, then climbed in. InuYashas heart thudded with memorys.
Kagome layed in between the folds of her sleeping bag. It was cold to the touch. Wasn't this thing supposed to keep her warm?
A memory of some one keeping her warm on the cold winter nights came flashing back at her. She smiled, as she felt her stomach do back and front flips. She lifted a hand to calm it. And it worked. Like a hand was supposed to be there. The raven haired girl sighed. This felt empty. It felt like she was not supposed to be alone.
She closed her eyes, as the feeling consumed her. She needed to get away from this. It was not some thing she cared to feel. Standing up, and removeing herself from the bag, she walked over to a tree and layed down aginst its base.
Another memory came her way.
InuYasha sitting up right aginst the base of a tree... Sleeping....
The man in question came down from the branch on which he was once sitting.
"Ka...Kagome?"
She turned her head around to look at him. She then sat up, as he kneeled down to be at eye level with her.
"Why arnt you sleeping in your sleeping bag?" He asked, carefully.
"It just... didnt feel right. It felt... empty...."
InuYasha smiled. She was remembering.
"Kagome... Have you remembered anything?"
"Just bits and peices. Not enough though."
"What do you mean not enough?"
"Not as much as I would like. I still have no idea whats going on."
He frowned at this.
"What have you remembered?"
"I... I remember looking up at the stars with you..."
His heart bet faster.
"I... I remember the monk..."
"Miroku?"
"Yes, Miroku.. I remember that he touched me. I fell backwards into you."
"Yeah, I remember that too." He said, as his eyes danced red.
"I... Remember you hugging me telling me that you were scared."
He flushed at this.
"And I remember you calling me Kikyo."
"Kagome I-"
"Tell me InuYasha... What was I like?"
He swallowed hard.
"You were the nicest person I had ever met. You cried for me, and you, besides my mother, were the only person who had done so."
"Why was I crying?"
"I guess you were afriad that I was going to die."
"I can see how I would have cried then."
He flushed.
"You had a tempor. You constintly 'Sat' me when ever you were angry."
"InuYasha?"
"Uhhh.... Kagome!?!"
"SIT!" He fell face down into the ground.
She closed her eyes, then opened them, confused.
"Sit?"
Some one fell into the ground, eating dirt. As much as he wanted to be mad... He couldnt. She remembered!
"Oh my Kami! Im so sorry!"
"Grr.He started out. "No. No, its okay. You remembered."
"I did this to you often?"
"Yeah, very often."
She made her way to the full demon creature, who warned her not to near. He growled.
"InuYasha... Sit."
He fell face first into the ground, returning to normal.
"What the hell was that for?" He asked.
She fell into him, hugging him tightly.
"Thank goodness your back."
"Are you okay Kagome?" He asked, as he noticed her eyes fell shut.
"Yeah, Im fine. Just a little tired."
"Oh, okay then." He stood up to leave.
"No... wait... please dont."
He looked down at her.
"Please, would you stay with me for the night?"
He nodded in reply, as he sat back down. Kagome leaned on his shoulder, as she fell into another land.
