Inu-Yasha sniffed the air as he came out of the well. He smelled Kagome, her family, and someone she didn't know.

She has to come back & help me. I have one shard but I need the rest.

He jumped up to the tree just outside her bedroom. He decided to wait until she came in her room so he could talk with her privately.

Kagome began to walk up the stairs to her room. Sora had fallen asleep in her arms so Kagome was just going to let her stay with her for the night. She opened the door to her room, but something stopped her from going in. She felt like she was being watched.

Inu-Yasha cursed under his breath.

Damn her! She moved on without me. I thought she loved me.

He watched as Kagome began to look around her room. She was alert and knew someone was there watching her. Inu-Yasha studied the sleeping girl in Kagome's arms. She looked like Kagome, but she had silver hair and claws. Something clicked within him.

That bitch, She didn't even bother to tell me about her.

He punched the tree and drew attention to himself. Kagome walked over to the window, opened it and look around. She was staring face to face with an annoyed hanyou.

"Inu-Yasha," Kagome said quietly.

They both stared at each other in a stunned silence. After he cooled off, Inu-Yasha broke the silence.

"Kagome, I have to talk to you about something important."

Kagome nodded & let him into her room. She placed Sora on the bed, covered her with a blanket, and sat down next to her.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't think you would want to know."

"Of course I would have. What made you think I wouldn't?"

"You were always uncaring at times. After we, well you know, I seriously thought about your love for me. I wanted to know if it was real or just my imagination. After Sora was born, I felt like that was the only peace of you I had left and I couldn't seem to find the strength to face you again to tell you."

They stayed silent for a moment.

"Kagome, when I said I loved you, I meant it. You were and still are everything to me. After you gave me the jewel, I left to lead the demons away from the village and the well so I could come back to you. I figured that I could protect the jewel better. It looks like I failed."

"What do you mean, Inu-Yasha?"

Inu-Yasha held out the jewel shard.

"What happened to the jewel?"

"You remember Kagura, right?"

Kagome nodded.

"She came back wanting revenge. When she got her hands on the jewel, Kaede broke it like you did years ago. I originally came here to ask for your help. Kaede can't go, she's too old. You're the only person who can see the shards."

"I'll come, but what about Sora?"

Inu-Yasha looked at the sleeping girl.

"Bring her with us."

Kagome nodded.

"Let me go tell my family."

"I'll go with you."

They went downstairs and explained their predicament. Souta was happy to see his hanyou hero and gave Kagome a hug before he was sent up to bed. Kagome's grandfather made Inu-Yasha promise to take care of Kagome and Sora before he approved of them leaving again. He didn't want to see Kagome unhappy like she was when their adventure had ended the last time. Kagome's mother gave Inu-Yasha's ears a tweak and gave her daughter words of luck along with a hug. The two of them went back up the stairs to pack. Inu-Yasha picked up the heavy pack while Kagome grabbed the sleeping Sora.

"Are you ready to go, Kagome?"

"Yeah, let's go grab my bike."

When they went outside, Inu-Yasha picked up Kagome's familiar pink bike and they walked to the well shrine. Inu-Yasha jumped into the well with the bike and the bag. Kagome turned to take one more look at her home and jumped into the well after Inu-Yasha.
