InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Unholy Wars ❯ Faces of death ( Chapter 29 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
“I wonder what Kazuki had to do?” Kagome looked up at Inu-Yasha as they walked, “He had a lot of stuff with him? Oh, how’s everyone else doing too?”

“Kazuki needs to forge a sword for himself, he goes to forge Akahime and force himself to become stronger in the process.” Hajime stalked down the hall, “No one died either, and Sango is a half demon now but still sleeping. Miroku… well he hasn’t died yet but I won’t make any promises. Everyone else is in various stages of recovery.”

“I’m going home for a little while; Inu-Yasha’s coming with me.” Kagome looked into Hajime’s cold eyes.

“Fine by me, I’ve training for Inu-Yasha when he gets back. He’ll need to be a lot stronger if he plans to fight any of Hister’s wolves. Be careful as well, I don’t want you getting squashed by a car now.” Hajime looked toward the castle’s courtyard, “Kazuki will be strong when he’s done, surely you know of the power he holds, Inu-Yasha. You managed to hold him back during a false release, impressive.”

“Yeah, but he beat me in the end.”

“Not all that important. His power at the time is roughly half of what he’s actually capable of; just think all that power you faced; only he’s actually in control of it! The thought is quite frightening, is it not?” Hajime smiled at Inu-Yasha, “I can train you to bring out the power of your blood and still retain control, even use your sword under such conditions. Believe me Inu-Yasha; you need the training I offer. It won’t be easy or painless, but you’ll gain strength enough to face down the Offiziere of Hister’s army. Without my training, even at your high-level you’ll be cut to pieces by them. Remember, they are powerful beasts who’re birthed specifically for combat they are adept in all forms of it. Remember Claire, she’s the weakest of them.”

“Yeah, I know.” Inu-Yasha and Kagome hurried out. Damn his black soul, reminding me of just how much better the enemy’s forces are compared to our own. But Kazuki, that force he had back at the tower… He’s the strongest I’ve ever faced and if that was half his strength, he’s our paladin, the joker, the trump card. I know his strength, Hister doesn’t. We can win this fight.

Kazuki found a nice looking cave and set up his stuff. He was ready to forge his sword.

“So you’re ready then?” Akahime sat on a rock in a ghostly form glaring down at Kazuki, “You’ll need to do everything exactly as I tell you, understand. You cannot block out the pain you’re going to feel. You will want to die during this process, and you will if we’re doing this too early.”

“Just shut up and tell me what I have to do.” Kazuki sat down next to the fire he’d made; it filled the cavern with scorching heat that was already causing Kazuki to sweat.

“Fine, first pull out your left arm bone and regenerate your body, this bone will serve as the first medium in the process.” Akahime watched as Kazuki reached into this own shoulder and began to force the bone from his flesh. He screamed in pain as the bone separated from its fleshy prison, panting he set the bone down and looked up at his partner, “What next?”

“Take metal and begin to pound it into your bone to forge the sword, use your own blood to cool the blade as you add new layers. It’s going to be a traditional katana, you’ve made them before. However,” Akahime paused, “You can’t use tongs or calipers to grip the superheated blade, and you must use your bare hands. This pain will serve as my medium to the sword itself.”

“Well then, this had better be worth it!” Kazuki prepared to hammer his blade into shape.

Outside of the Kitsune village Inu-Yasha and Kagome saw Gein standing in front of a large boulder; he had his gauntlets back on both of his arms. They saw him tense into a fighting stance and punch the boulder. Nothing happened.

“Damn, I’m still too injured.” Gein turned away from the boulder, and it broke in half, “It should have been sent flying towards the mountainside all crazy like.”

“Oh, good you’re alive!” Inu-Yasha looked at Gein with a chibi anime face.

“Yeah, and I’m supposed to follow you to Kagome’s time or something retarded like that.” Gein said while frowning, “Hajime ordered me to do it, and since he’s my new Lord I don’t really have much choice in the matter.”

“What? I thought if anyone Kazuki would be in charge?”

“Not until he gets a wife!” Gein smirked.

Kagome’s time, Gulf of Mexico 6:04 am. The Tanker ‘Vergesser’ sails as the sun rises. Ascending her steps from the clanging underbelly are three of Hister’s Offiziere. The first one to reach the ship’s deck was a female with shoulder length black hair, her jacket was a camouflaged variant of the normal combat jacket, her pants where much the same way. She was tall and lean with small but perky breasts; her purple eyes looked forward with a certain sadness about them. Her feet were paws and a black bushy tail wagged behind her, her ears were furry and pointed although the rest of her was human. On her left sleeve was a patch with the number ‘7’ printed on it. Her SS rank insignia indicated that she was an Obersturmbannfuhrer*.

Behind number seven a tall man with a goatee and dreadlocks stood. His uniform was torn and many blood stains were permanent colorations, around his waist he wore a fox pellet over his belt, the left sleeve of his jacket had been tore off below his elbow and his lower arm could be seen. His fingers were covered in rings and his hands bandaged, his nails were sharp and painted forever black, around his wrist was a piece of cloth as a band, and on his lower left arm were tattoos that resembled dark clouds. On the remnants of his left sleeve was a circular patch like the one on the girl’s only, his said ‘3’.

“Beautiful sunrise Gabi, is it not?” The man said in a voice as calm as a pond’s surface.

“It is quite lovely, Oberstgruppenfuhrer* Wolfgang.” Gabi’s voice was a melodic coo, a kind hearted voice devoid of the usual malice of a Rheinlander. Her face was gentle and soft, although she always looked sad, almost as if she was mourning something. Gabi twitched her left ear and the bell she wore as an ear ring dinged. She smiled, “I wonder if the opening shots have been fired yet? I know Herr Hister sent my Sabine in; that means he really wants the job done.”

“He also sent in the Captains of Kampfgruppe sechs, nuen, und zehn with their vice-captains as well.” Wolfgang said. Gabi looked into his face; Wolfgang’s hair was a blood red color and his eyes were a dull grey color and were lined with thick black eyeliner, around his forehead he had tied a wide black scarf that kept his dreadlocks out of his eyes and covered up his eyebrows, overall he looked a lot like Jack Sparrow from that pirate movie. On his back was a Japanese katana, to be specific it was a covenant sword that he’d dominated and could wield without penalty to himself.

“I wonder if they’ll even leave anything for the rest of us.” Gabi stared out into the vastness of the outspread ocean, “I briefed my Sabine on her target and five possible battle outcomes and situations that she might encounter.”

“I’m sure there will be.” From above them on a shipping container sat the tall and lanky Klaus Webber in his full gear; tactical vest, black camouflaged trench coat, black fatigue pants, gasmask, balaclava, thick gloves, helmet, combat boots, belt with three pistol holsters on it, his LN-85 was slung over his back, his long white hair danced in the wind. Klaus hated the sun with a passion, and every part of his battle dress was meant to block out those harmful rays. The patch on his sleeve had the number ‘11’.

Brazil….

Claire panted, her breasts bouncing back and forth in ecstasy as she called out, “Give it to me!” over and over. The lust on her voice was permeating through the air as her sweat fell from her face.

“Oh, fine Captain!” The soldier handed her the donut he’d been holding just out of her reach, more fearing the retribution of her anger if he didn’t share the chocolate, with chocolate frosting and sprinkles sugar and fat packed treat with his Captain then her pathetic food lust. But he saw an opportunity to actually get some straight answers from a higher up. “Ok Captain, since I gave you my last donut, why don’t you share with me the reason you’ve been so cheerful since your trip to the past?”

Claire swallowed the donut in one bite and said, “I got to see him again, Kazuki that is.”

“Oh-ho! And, come on Captain that was your favorite kind of donut I just gave you! Tell me more.”

“Well, he said I’d put on weight since he’d last seen me, but he also said he liked it.” Claire smiled, “And I got a kiss out of him!”

“Captain Fuchs you sly bitch!”

Behind the Kitsune Village, Feudal Era

Sasha stopped and took out her Desert Eagle from the holster on her kimono’s waist. She sniffed in the smell and tried to place it. She thought it smelled like gun powder, smokeless gun powder (K/F note, smokeless powder is used in modern firearms and is more stable then black powder. It wasn’t invented until the late 1800’s). If that wasn’t evidence enough behind her she sensed a strong presence. “Come out I know you’re there, show yourself.”

“Very well,” A tall Amazonian looking woman walked out of the forest. She was shapely and at least four inches taller than Sasha’s own 5’ 8” (that’s right Sasha’s taller than Kazuki) frame, although she didn’t have Sasha’s wide hips or large breasts. The woman had long light red messy hair, her skin seemed almost white, on her face she had two half inch wide red lines leading horizontally from her eyes to her jaw line, on her lips she wore dark green lipstick; her face itself was a cold emotionless picture of dejection, her expression made it seem as if she was bored by everything she saw in her pale blue eyes. She continued speaking, her grey trench coat bellowed in the wind, “I am Rottenfuhrer* Sabine Krissnacht, vice captain of Kampfgruppe seben und the former Captain of Kampfgruppe Nuen.”

“Oh, really now,” Sasha narrowed her gaze; Sabine had a katana on a black waist sash, her pants were a bright white color, she had long sleeves on her coat, combat boots… but besides the katana she seemed unarmed, not even a knife in her boot. Sasha smiled, “Well I’m Sasha Kitsune, why are you here?”

“Why are we here?”

“WE!?” Sasha’s eyes widened.

“Yes.”

Koga looked at the man in front of him, he looked like Jurgen only he wore a mask over the bottom half of his face, and the number on his sleeve was ‘9’, and he was unarmed. However Koga was still badly injured from the tower.

“Who are you?” Koga asked

Sesshomaru looked at the short pudgy old man in front of him; the man wore a uniform and a stove pipe hat, his eyes were slits on his face. The number on his sleeve read, ‘10’.

“And you are?” Sesshomaru winced, the wounds hadn’t closed up at all and there was someone strong in front of him. If Claire was number 13 and if this guy is 10 that means he’s stronger then Claire and she nearly took my head off with one punch. This isn’t good; my wounds are going to make this impossible.

Hajime looked at the boy in front of him. He was about 5’ 4” with tattoos all over his face; he wore a simple field uniform with a saddle holster with a stubby shotgun in it. On the top of his head was two large cat-ears poking out of his messy hair, the number on his sleeve was the number ‘6’.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” Hajime said.

Sango was sitting upright in her bed, she had no idea what her body looked like yet. On the floor looking at her was a young looking girl with blonde pigtails in a Hitler youth uniform. She had a cutlass sword on her back and an evil grin on her pixy face. She grabbed the sword.

“Who are you!?” Sango managed to get out.

“Who me?” The girl smiled wide, revealing her fangs.

Jack Kingston stared the tall man in front of him. The man was like a Picasso drawing, the two sides of his face were different, and his right eye was barely visible underneath a strange growth over his over it. He was bald as well; he wore a long brown trench coat. Tattooed on the freakish side of his face was a large number 9. The stranger pulled out a machete.

“And who might you be mate?” Jack said as he pulled out his knife.

The man in front of Koga bellowed out: “I am Sturmmann* Robert Draus, captain of Kampfgruppe nine!”

The old man screamed, “I am Sturmbannfuhrer Karl Geist Captain of Kampfgruppe zehn!”

The young girl howled: “I am vice captain of Kampfgruppe sechs, Scharfuhrer* Heidi Zahne!”

The freak said: “I am vice-captain of Kampfgruppe nine, Oberschutze* Siegfried Grantz.”

Cat ears yelled out, “I AM STURMBANNFUHRER* SCHRODINER CAPTAIN OF KAMPFGRUPPE SECHS! WE ARE HERE TO KILL YOU ALL!”

Hajime chuckled, “No, you fool, you were sent here to die by my sword.”

Too be continued!

Next time: Tattered and torn; let it bleed through, Sasha verses the silent killer.
