Chapter 8
~~~Miroku had indeed dropped his soon to be new mistress of the castle at her appointed quarters, and he had left quickly knowing his lord and friend wished to speak with him immediatly. But that was the problem, he was not ready to face his lord at the moment so he procrastinated. He went to the servent quarters and issued orders on the care and needs the princess would require and expect as one of her station. Most if not all the servants were lower class demons and although they did not care much for humans they would treat the new lady of the house as such, plus most had been around during the Great Lord's rule and his human wife as well. They had all learned to love and adore her as well as respect her, but not all humans were like thier late mistress and they only wondered what this human girl would be like, it would determine thier way of treating her.
~~~Of course regardless of thier feelings for the human, they would treat her as they would any noble, because that was what they had to do, she was to be the masters wife, but only in human terms, which they did not always hold as a true bond, being demons. But wether she was respected and treated more like just a lady or an honored member of the castle was dependant on the way the human reacted and behaved. To thier knowledge most human princess' were mostly spoiled and uneducated and want to throw tantrums, so most of the servants were not looking foward to serving the young miss, but they would do thier duty.
~~~After Miroku filled in the servants what a human princess might expect, he was still not ready to face his lord. How could he tell Inuyasha that he thought the girl a miko when she herself had declared to have no relatives that were of the holier persuation, which most mikos came from. Someone on thier family tree had to be a holy priest or priestess with high spiritual powers, but the lady claimed to have no one like that in her family. It could be that she did not know of all her family tree but one thing most nobles prided themselves in was knowing thier family tree back to its original roots. But if the lady indeed did have someone down the line, even generations back, she herself might of inherited said miko abilities without knowing. It was clear to see that she did not know she had said gifts, but if she were not a miko then how could she see Inuyasha and Kanna's aura's with out the spiritual backround? Not many could detect aura's without spiritual powers? Now how to explain all this to Inuyasha? His lord was not a patient hanyou and liked answers not guess'.....he was want to yell his fool head off if not satisfied and although Miroku did not fear any harm from his lord and best friend, he did however detest his big mouth and temper tantrums. With a loud sigh and a jingle of his staff he went to find Jaken.
"Jaken I have advised the staff about the care and needs of the princess, but I think you should go in and advise the princess herself what might be required of her at dinners and such, how to act around demons." Miroku told his counter part. Jaken looked up at him since he was about two feet tall and turned his nose into a sour expression.
"Why bother? Humans are bellow us, they can not possibly understand the refined grace and honor of our kind, having her try and act as if she belongs here would only make a mockery of our lord and all demon kind." came Jaken's whiny nasely tone, full of snooty arrogance. Miroku was used to this by now but at the moment he just had no patience for it. Hitting him over the head with his staff he cleared his throat.
"I will be sure to tell our lord you opinion on the matter of humans and such, seeing that his mother was human and all, but till then you will do as advised, this order is not mine but Lord Inuyasha's, unless you prefer I tell him you do not wish to follow his order Jaken??" Miroku told him in a plain simple voice, although Jaken knew the monk well and knew it as a threat. But Jaken was not one to get his Lord riled, nothing good ever came from an angery Inuyasha.
"Fine I will go see to this human woman and advise her on how to behave around our lord and quests once they start arriving for the human ceromony, although that in itself is a mockery to our kind as well." Jaken replied with a hauty sniff as he walked off with his two headed wooden staff towards the Ladies chambers. Miroku sighed. He wondered how Lady Kagome and Jaken would get along. As it was Inuyasha tolerated him and only because he was his fathers adviser, but Jaken had never felt for humans the same way as his late lord did, although he had come to respect the late Lady Izoyi.
"Well cant put it off any longer now can I?" Miroku asked himself as he again sighed deeply and headed towards Inuyasha's study and no doubt a major tongue lashing from his young lord. Oh happy days, he thought bitterly to himself.
