Chapter 7~Contemplations!

~~~Kagome was led to her room and before she could turn to say a word, the door was closed behind her with an echoing thud then silence. Kagome sighed and looked around the room she stood in. The dark wooded floor beneath her feet shone like glass and felt cool upon her bare feet, she'd never seen such luxery and care of a simple floor. She looked around and saw a vanity with mirror and red cushioned chair, the dark wood of the desk matched the color of the floor as did the large wood closet that had hand painted sakura blossoms and a beautifull waterfall. There were two huge stuffed chairs that surrounded a fireplace that was as tall if not taller than her, as well as wide as the carriage. There were a few fine silk screens to change and seperate parts of the room, beautifull pictures of hand painted gardens adorned the screens adding a very soothing feel to the room. She walked out to the balcony and found a table and some more chairs, lightly padded but not stuffed like the ones indoors. The sceanary that the balcony overlooked was absolutly breathtaking. A huge garden with a large koi pond with wooden bridge stood at the center of the huge garden surrounded by a burst of many colored flowers and trees that bloomed with pink and white blossoms. Beyond the garden and the castle walls you could see the beautifull meadows and the wild flowers that bloomed there as well, then beyond there a thick green forest which also took your breath away.
~~~As she walked back into the room she thought of how many wonderfull meals she could have just sitting out there on the balcony savoring the beauty of the day, or perhaps bask in the sun as she read a good story or continued her studies, the one thing she had promised her father she would continue to do. He said no child of his would be uneducated. When she walked back into the room she finally let her eyes rest on the one piece of furniture she had not wanted to really see just yet, but she could not help it since it did take up most of the room. The bed. The thing that awed her the most was that it was not a traditional japanese futon, even for royalty, she had never seen anything like it really. Instead on the floor it stood on a large four posted wooden box like structure with large stubby legs that supported it off the floor. On the side of the bed was a small wooden box that looked like two steps that led up to the bed. The bed was truelly high so it was nice to know that she would not have to struggle to get atop it to sleep. The futon atop it was large and fluffly like a cloud. She could not imagine how many people could actually fit on it. It was also covered in a warm and inviting looking red silk conforter, she could just not help but want to sleep in it. So she did. The ride from her home had been long and dusty, and bumpy. What could it hurt to just take a minute or two to just catch a nap?

~~~After seeing Kanna safe and sound in her own room, Inuyasha went to his study and paced the floor, trying to figure out what these new events meant, as he awaited for Miroku to come see him after depositing his bride to be in her room, which was right next to his. Not something Inu wanted to think about right now. He was still floored about the events that had occured not more than half an hour ago. Beautiful? Him? He could still hear her words echoing in his mind over and over again. Her soft whispered, yet awed words, accomponied by her big beautifull eyes that shone wide with more awe as she had stared at him and called him beautiful. Beautiful. Ha. He was definitly not beautifull, nor had he ever been called beautifull by anyone, well maybe except his mom when he and Kanna had been younger. She had called them her beautiful shining babies. How odd that. Now that he thought about it, the wench he was to marry had said he and Kanna were bright and shiny, filled with colors. He wondered if his mother had seen them like that as well. He didnt know if that was a good thing or a bad thing right now.
~~~And to top all that off Miroku explained her being able to see them like that as some sort of latent Miko power. Now there was something to be ecstatic about, he mused sarcasticly. Of all the human wenches he should be paired with, it was just his luck to get the one who might purify him and his sister if she wanted to. Well ok, so far, she herself had admited that she was not a miko or had any miko ancestors, but if she was not miko then why could she see thier aura's when she was only to have seen them as shadows? He had counted on her seeing him as some large greyish, darkish creature, he had hoped it would help frighten her. But noooooooooo, she had to think he was beautifull. He growled as his mind kept up his sarcastic banter. This was not good. Hell he knew he had to marry the human but he had hoped she would leave before the year was up, go back home and then there would be no demon bonding, no permanant tie to him and a woman he knew nothing about or really cared to. Yes he would do his duty, he would marry her, keep the treaty with the human lord and his human wedding vows with his human wife, but he had hoped to do it while she was back at her home and he was here in his castle, living life the way he had been before all this fell at his feet. After all humans didnt live long lives in this era, sickness, old age, and rampaging bandits often shortened thier lives. Of course he did not wish for his so called bride to be killed by bandits or anything, he was half demon but not a total monster or jackass.

~~~But still. Even if she lived a long and healthy life without a single day of sickness or ailment, eventually she would die. Thus freeing him of his human bond to her. Of course none of the human bonds were recognized by demons, to them she would just be a concubine with perks. But they did recognize treaties and vows of honor and other such stuff. So they would honor his human wedding, especially since he himself was half human, and all eyes would be on him to make sure that the treaties terms were fullfilled. He was still young, a teenager in demon years, and the way he handled this would say alot about him and the way he would lead the West as lord, so yes many eyes were on him, but none more than Naraku. That bastard had his eyes on his kingdom, and the only way to get it without war was through his failure to keep this treaty, and marriage to his baby sister, which Inu would die before letting happen. He would kill Naraku and defy the other lords, disgrace his fathers good name and anything else he had to do to keep his sister out of that bastards hands. He didnt know why no one else was freaked out about that guy. As far as he knew, no one had ever seen him without his human like form. No one really knew what sort of demon he was, except that he was and what he looked liked in that form seemed to be a well guarded secret. Demons who hid behind human facades were not to be trusted one bit.
~~~More growling and still no Miroku. Where the hell was that lecherous monk? He wondered what his mother would think of Miroku? He was definitly not like his ancestor whom had come with his mother from her home all those decades ago. Miroku was Inuyasha's confidant, and best friend. Yes it was odd for a demon or half demon to even have a human friend, but there was just something about the lech that had drew them together. They had alot in common yet didnt. Miroku was always the peacemaker while Inu was want to yell and tear heads off. But then there was times that Miroku could cause a hell of alot of trouble, mostly by touching some female he was not supposed to that Inu had to get him out of what ever jam he got himself into. It worked out like that. Inu of course often yelled and cursed Miroku and his lecherous ways, but deep down, being a hearty male himself, he couldnt help but internally sniker and congradulate Miroku for his groping, he just wished it wouldnt cause HIM so much trouble to get him out of said jams. He recalled one time when he was at the lord of the easts kingdom for some meeting years ago. As usual he always took Jaken and Miroku with him, one to represent his human side and the other his demon side, although he was closer to Miroku and could barely tolerate Jaken, the snottly little toad. Anyhow Miroku had groped the butt of one very nice looking demoness. And both she and Miroku had been caught by her lord doing the nasty in one of the spare rooms. It turned out that the demoness had been one of the lords favorite concubines. Inuyasha not only had to pay a hefty price for Miroku's defilement but had to keep his human monk from being ripped to shreds by a very angry tiger demon lord. That bought a smile to his face. The memory was both a good and a bad one and still made him smile on occasion, or growl, depending on his mood, and if Miroku didnt get here soon Miroku would wish that he had been torn up by the tiger demon all those years ago, compared to what Inu was going to do to him if he didnt get here very very soon and with some answers.
