Chapter 8~The Unforgiving Night
Inuyasha closed the pink book and put it back into Kagomes bag. He got up and tended to the fire. He looked over at Kagome with somewhat of a look of annoyance.
Kagome started to move a little as she groaned in her sleep.
Inuyasha walked over and knelt down next to her. He pulled back the sleeping bag and felt her arm. *She’s still cold. If I can’t get her warm she will get sick too.*
Inuyasha hesitated as he climbed into the sleeping bag next to Kagome.
He relaxed some as he inhaled her intoxicating sent. *It’s like she’s in heat..other demons will came to mate her. Her sent isn’t the same as her normal heat though. I’ve never smelt anything like this.* He looked protectively at her.
He moved one arm under her head and snuggled up against her. * Hopefully this will work to keep her warn. At least there’s no demons around tonight.*
Inuyasha closed his eyes and lade there awake-* I have to fight my urges no matter how bad they get.*..(.he broke off)
Kagome started to stir and spoke fiercely- “GO TO HELL NARAKU.......NO.......I’D RATHER DIE.”
Inuyasha opened his eyes and looked at Kagome with a look of horror from what she had said.
Inuyasha- * She’s dreaming what happened to her.*
Her body became more tense.
He stroked Kagomes head- “Kagome you’re safe... you’re with me now.” he growled softly in her ear.
Kagomes body relaxed as she pushed back into his chest, as if yearning for comfort and safety.
Kagome still asleep in a shaky voice- “umm In..u..ya..sha.”
He smile softly and he laid back down.
Inuyasha -*She knows I’m here with her.*then he fell into a light asleep.

Later that night, Inuyasha woke to a screaming Kagome, “ IF YOU WERE HALF THE MAN YOUR BROTHER IS......”
Kagome stat up quickly, painting with pain, disoriented, and willing to fight with the strength she had regained.
Inuyasha sat up astonished by Kagomes words of loyalty- “Kagome !?!”
He looked at her- “Lay down you’re too injured...You’re safe now Kagome...I won’t let anything happen to you. I swear it on my life.”
Kagome began to cry as she turned to him and rapped her arms around his waist, bearing her face into his sculpted chest- “Oh Inuyasha, I thought I’d never see you again.............I was so scared.”
Inuyasha lightly gasped from the pressing of flesh, as his temperature rose higher-*Keep yourself under control...She needs you and she just went threw HELL....The sooner we get to the village the better. . .I lost Kikyo and now...I’ve lost Kagome to the same demon.*
He looked down at Kagome and stroked her hair gently- “Kagome, tell me what happened when you disappeared in the stream.”
Inuyasha placed a hand on her cheek and used his thumb to whip away her tears.
Kagome told Inuyasha everything up to the point of.... “I was too weak..........I thought of you and then...blacked out... when Naraku was...on me.......”
Inuyasha-*She thought of me?*
Kagome was trying to hide the pain she was feeling, but wasn’t doing a very good job at it.
She noticed that she had several bandages on under Inuyasha white kimono and was very clean now-*He did all of this...he saw me naked.*A blush crept along her cheek but faded quickly as the thought of Naraku entered her mind.
Her thoughts broke off as Inuyasha muttered-“Did he...” unable to finish his choking question.
Kagome turned her back to him as she looked into the fire in a daze-“I don’t know.” she whispered as tears strolled down her face.
Inuyasha could feel the deepest sadness he had ever felt in Kagome.
Inuyasha was now sitting with his legs spread apart, he rapped his arms around her and pulled her gently into his chest again. Her head rested on Inuyasha collarbone as she still gazed into the fire, lost in her own nightmarish thoughts.
Inuyasha spoke softly into her ear....”Go to sleep, you need to rest....I’m hear ....and I wont let go of you.”
Kagome felt her nipples harden and a tickling of butterflies in her stomach as the soft sweet words tickled and entranced her, as the light breath danced on her ear and the nape of her neck.
Inuyasha quickly noticed her smell of arousal. *Oh no....this can’t be happening...CONTROL... CONTROL. WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON?*
Inuyasha was now panting heavily.
Kagome sleepily, tilted her head back- “What’s wrong Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha looking like he’s getting himself under control more now- “Nothing...” looking
a little embarrassed “um.. Kagoma could you move for a second?”
Kagome with help from Inuyasha sat up.
Inuyasha quickly grabbed his red fire rate kimono, bundled it up a little and placed it between his legs, to cover up his growing manhood.
Kagome looked back- “What are you doing?”
Inuyasha- “ Thought I’d...make you more comfortable.
Kagome laid back into Inuyasha - “ I was Inuyasha..........Do you think Naraku is controlling Sesshomaru?”
Inuyasha groffly answered-“I....I don’t know. Don’t worry anymore... go to sleep.”
Kagome fell asleep quickly in the warm, protective rising and falling chest. Inuyasha rapped his arms around her tinny form.
He stayed up thinking about what had happened to Kagome all night, never removing his hold on the girl.
