Chapter 18~The Search for Herbs
Dawn had broke as the group still rested in Kaedes hut.
Inuyashas demon powers had returned with the sun rise.
Shippo awoke to the sound of Inuyasha speaking with Kaede. He sat up holding his head trying to make the room stop spinning-“Granny Kaede are you alright?”
Kaede looking over at the little fox demon with a smile as Inuyasha bandaged her leg- “Aye child, and how are ye?”
Shippo- “I’ve felt better.”
Miroku turning his head to the young fox- “You helped a lot out there Shippo.’
Sango looking at Kaede-“We need more powerful herbs for Miroku.”
Kaede nodded-“Aye (Pause) her gaze fell onto the once again white haired hanyou “Are ye all right Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha was sitting next to Kagome -“Keh, I’m fine.” ”Why did Kagome do that though? And why didn’t I get hurt when I touched her?”
Kaede-“Aye, I thought that was on ye mind.” “If Kagome didn’t use her miko powers I would have died shortly from Kikyos arrow.”
Inuyasha shot a look of madness -“KIKYOS ARROW?”
Kaede-“Aye, Kikyo was here she was aiming for Kagome and I blocked her path..... Kikyo tried to remove the arrow. But her powers are diminishing.”
Inuyasha looked at Kagome who slept soundly-“Her miko powers are diminishing ?”
Kaede-“Aye. Kikyo will soon be no different from any other of the walking dead.”
Inuyasha sat next to Kaede and looked back at Kagome.
Kaede-“A mikos arrow cannot be removed once it has been shot into its place. Kagome has unusual powers. She did not wish to harm anyone but to help me and that is why ye were unharmed. I believe her powers are controlled by her emotions.”
Shippo was now sitting next to the unconscious Kagome and dabbing her brow with a cool damp cloth.
Kaede looked with worry-“Mirokus wounds aren’t healing well. I will have to travel a great distance for herbs to help speed him healing.”
Sango looked with question-“How long will it take to get there?”
Kaede-“Three days.”
Shippo ran up to Kaede cheerfully- “Three days isn’t too bad!”
Inuyasha looked worried-“Six days in all Shippo. Plus how ever long it take to find the herbs.”
Kaede- “I am surprised Kagome has made it threw this last healing she did for me. Ye can not let her use her power anymore until she is fully healed and she need to rest.”
Inuyasha nodded his head as he gazed at Kagome.
Sango stood up-“I will accompany you then Kaede. You will need protection.”
Kaede-“Thank ye child.”
Shippo- “Can I come too?”
Kaede laughed-“Aye, if you wish.”
Sango bent down with her back turned to the monk who seemed to be sleeping, to grab a few things.
Sango gasped and her cheeks flushed , a possessed hand was rubbing her butt. She spun around still kneeling and slapped the monks hand-“GLAD YOU ARE FEELING WELL MONK.” She stood up fast and marched out the door.-*Well at least he’s okay, but when he is better he’ll pay for that.*
Shippo fallowed the demon slayer outside.
Kaede stood up-“Inuyasha are ye sure ye can handle this ye self?”
Inuyasha-“Keh, no problem. Just get what you need and get back quick and don’t get yourself killed. We are relying on you.”
Kaede- “Aye.” *He is truly worried about Kagome and Miroku.* (pause)
Kaede bent down to the hanyous ear and whispered-“Ye be very watchful of the monk around Kagome, aye?”
Inuyasha with a questioned look at the old woman-“Of corse.”
Kaede-“We shall return on the ninth night.”
Inuyasha nodded as the old woman left the hut.
Shippo, Sango and Kaede were all set and walk away from the village.
