The gang stood ready, weapons out and prepared for the biggest fight of their lives. The only question was who would make the first move? Their answer came when Kagura flicked open her fan and called, “Dance of Blades.” Swiftly, the group dodged the attack. “Hirakotsu!” Sango cried, throwing it at Kagura. Naraku, in the meantime, was making his way towards Kagome. “I'll get your shards, nisou!” “Oh no you won't. Wind Scar!” Inuyasha cried. The attack knocked Naraku backwards. Suddenly, Inuyasha received a painful blow to his shoulder. “You are indeed slow, Inuyasha. I shall your death quite painful,” Sesshomaru said, his claws sunk deep into his younger brother's shoulder. As he extracted his claws to slash Inuyasha once more, an arrow became lodged deep in his hand. “Get away from him, Sesshomaru, or the next arrow goes straight through your heart!” “Again, you require the assistance of humans, Inuyasha? How pathetic.” “Kagome, look out!” Mika cried, narrowly avoiding one of Naraku's tentacles. The tentacle was now heading straight for Kagome. Inuyasha swiftly knocked the tentacle back before Kagome had time to blink. Mika then leapt towards Kagura. “Howling slash!” The gust of wind and energy tore through Kagura's kimono. “You dare use the power of the wind against me? You'll pay for that! Dance of the Dragon!” Mika swiftly dodged the cyclones coming at her. “I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this up.”

Nearby, Miroku and Sango were both battling Naraku. Sango kept throwing her Hirakotsu, but, with each tentacle she chopped off, another grew in its place. “There's no stopping him. He's too powerful!” Miroku glanced down at his right hand. “There is one way.” “Miroku, you can't. Your Wind Tunnel will spread and engulf you as well!” “I have no choice, Sango! It must be done.” Miroku pushed Sango behind him. “Wind Tunnel!” Naraku tried to anchor himself to the ground, but found himself being pulled into the deep void. Miroku held his hand high, but knew the end would come soon. As Naraku came closer to being drawn into the void, the sides of the Wind Tunnel began to spread. Miroku winced in pain, still going strong as he could. “Miroku!” Sango cried. “Sango! Stay back or you'll be sucked in as well.” Sango, abandoning all reason, ran forward and held Miroku tightly. “Ah! Sango, what on earth do you think you're doing?” “If you have to go, Miroku, I'm going with you!” “Why, Sango? You have your whole life ahead of you! Don't waste it on a poor monk like me.” “You're wrong, Miroku. My life could only be a waste if I wasn't with you. I love you, Miroku. Don't leave me alone like this.” “Sango, I… never knew you felt that way.” Miroku cried out again as the tunnel became even wider. “I love you, too, Sango. No matter what happens now, I'll always love you.” Sango pushed herself up towards Miroku's face. Slowly, she touched her lips to his and the two shared a tender kiss. By now, the Wind Tunnel was stretched to its limits. Without warning, it cracked completely and began to engulf Miroku's hand. “This is it, Sango!” “Goodbye, Kagome! Take care of Kirara for me. And, Father, I'll be with you and the others soon.” Slowly, the Tunnel enclosed around them and, before it could spread any farther, Naraku was sucked into it. Within seconds, the gigantic void had vanished, leaving only a miniscule crater in its place.

Kagura gasped as a strange sensation pulsed through her. “My… my heart. I can feel it beating in my chest. Then, that must mean… Naraku is dead.” “Sango! Miroku!” Kagome cried. Inuyasha and Mika both stared at the small crater Miroku's Wind Tunnel had left behind. One question plagued both their minds. “Would I sacrifice myself for the one I love, too?”
