(A/N: Hey, everyone! Just thought I'd mention this to ya. As far as I can tell, the moon on Sesshy's forehead is from his mom, considering Inu-kun don't have one, even in his youkai state. Thought I'd mention it. Enjoy! -Isha)

“Hey, wake up.” Kagome blinked slowly, the form of a silver-haired hanyou barely visible. “How long have I been asleep?” Kagome yawned. “A few hours. You passed out right after `sitting' me about a hundred times.” Inuyasha raised his voice slightly on the last part, but not enough to where Kagome noticed. “Inuyasha? Could I ask you something?” “Sure, go ahead.” “What's your relationship with Mika?” At this point, Mika, who had been sleeping soundly near Kagome, opened one eye. “This could be interesting.” Inuyasha had now turned a bright red. “I…uh… well… Mika and I are…. Um… we're just friends is all.” Kagome arched her eyebrow and looking over to the seemingly sleeping female hanyou. “Really? Cuz, you too seemed pretty close yesterday in the cave.” Both Inuyasha and Mika shared the same thought. “She saw that?” “Well, um, she was…just, um, comforting me.” Again, Kagome doubted him. “Inuyasha, I know you and Mika have become close. I mean, who could blame you? You're both hanyou, right? You're meant for each other. I just wanted to say that I care about you too, ya know. You don't have to worry about me. I've decided, now that Naraku's gone, I'm not really needed here anymore. I'm going to go home to be with my family.” Inuyasha stared at the nisou, tears slowly running down her cheeks. “Kagome, are you sure that's what you really want?” Kagome looked up at Inuyasha and smiled. “Positive. I belong in my era, not yours. I have school, my friends, and my family. You're welcome to visit me anytime and I still may come back here occasionally, but my time is where I want to stay.” With that, Kagome kissed Inuyasha on the cheek and walked out the door. “Goodbye, Inuyasha. Don't forget to come visit.” Inuyasha put his hand to his cheek and watched his nisou walk out the door and out of his life.
(Author pauses writing to go retrieve a couple hundred tissues…) (Isha: Okay *sniff* I'm good now. Let's continue)

Shippo sat outside the Bone Eater's well all day, waiting for Kagome to return. “Inuyasha, you big meanie, why did you make her leave?” he had asked earlier, crying. Inuyasha had not responded. Now, Mika watched the hanyou sitting next to Shippo, trying to comfort him. “She'll come back and visit us, Shippo. She said she would.” “But it's not the same!” Mika looked on and petted Kirara. They had lost so many friends, not to mention enemies, in such a short time. “I wonder, who will be next?” As Inuyasha looked over at her, Mika brushed back her bangs with her hand. On her forehead, Inuyasha now noticed a bright pink crescent moon. “Mika, what is that?” Mika's eyes went wide as she put her hand to her forehead. “Damn it all!” “What is it?” Mika sighed. “It's my mother's mark, the crescent moon. I'm sure you know Sesshomaru has one, as do I. Mine just happens to be pink.” “How come I never saw it before?” “Well, back when I wore my udewa, it kept the moon hidden. After it fused with my Kataki, the moon reappeared. I've been trying to keep it hidden, but I knew you'd find it sooner or later.” “Why have you been hiding it? Are you ashamed or something?” “Kind of. I just hate being connected to Sesshomaru! This mark proves that I'm related to him and I hate it!” Mika clenched her fist so tightly her claws began to draw blood. Inuyasha walked over to her and pulled her close, causing her to loosen her grip. “It's okay, Mika, I understand how you feel. Come on, maybe some day soon, I can give you a mark of my own.” Mika blushed as Inuyasha held her tighter. “I love you, Inuyasha.” (A/N: For those of you who didn't get that hint, he was talking about a mating mark.
