“Where…am I?” Mika asked aloud, slowly regaining consciousness. It was dark around her, no light whatsoever. She tried to move, but found her wrists and ankles chained to the wall. She could feel an evil enveloping her and slowly, a cold hand grasped her shoulder. “No need to be afraid, dear Mika. You will remain perfectly unharmed for the time being.” Mika recognized the deep menacing voice instantly. “Naraku? Where… where did you take me? Where's Inuyasha?” Naraku chuckled. “Worried about your mate, are you? Don't fret; I'm sure he'll arrive shortly. That stubborn hanyou always barges in where he isn't wanted. In the meantime, I have a task for you.” Mika's eyes were wide with terror. “Inuyasha! Inuyasha! I don't know where I am, but Naraku's got me! Inuyasha!” His name reverberated in her head as the cry for help strained to reach Inuyasha's furry ears.

Inuyasha sat up with a start. “Sesshomaru, wake up damn it! It's Mika.” Slowly, Sesshomaru opened his eyes and looked over to his brother. “What about Mika? Has she contacted you?” “Yeah, just a few seconds ago. She says she's with Naraku, but, other than that, has no clue where she is. What do we do now, Sessh?” “So, do we continue searching for Naraku's scent alone? Is that what you are asking?” “I'm asking if maybe we can find her some other way. Can't we use our mind power somehow?” “I do not know, Inuyasha. But, perhaps…” “Perhaps what?” “There may be a way. Your mark, Inuyasha, that is the key.” “My mark? How can that help us?” “Simple. The youkai mating mark has more than one purpose. One, of course, is to define someone as your mate and no one else's. However, the mark can also transfer feelings to the other partner.” “Feelings? How the hell are feelings gonna help us?” “Just trust me, Inuyasha. Put your hand on your mark and tell me, what is she feeling?” Inuyasha, slightly confused, obeyed is brother. An instant after his hand touched the mark, a wave of emotions washed over him. “Erg. They're all mixing together. There's too many!” “Females are very emotional, Inuyasha, that is a fact. Now, try to sort them out as best you can. “”Okay. Um, well she's afraid, that's for sure, and confused. There's also anger and sadness. Very little tolerance, probably of Naraku, but its there. Loneliness and evil, too. Guess the evil is because she's surrounded by it, right?” “I assume so. Now, Inuyasha, take the first letters of al those emotions and put them together.” “A-c-a-s-t-l-e. A castle? She's in a castle? Well that's brilliant, Fluffy! How are we gonna find one stinkin' castle in all this land?! Hey, do the last letters spell out anything? Ddrsesl?” “Inuyasha, you are an truly an idiot. To answer your question, I believe she is that castle over there.” Inuyasha looked over and saw a giant castle enveloped in a demonic aura. He sniffed the air and Mika's scent wafted to him. “I hate it when you're right!”

Mika was afraid. Naraku had left for but a moment, leaving Kanna to watch her. Kanna kept glancing down at her mirror periodically. After a moment, the young girl spoke. “They're coming.” “Who? Who's coming?” “Inuyasha and the others. They are entering the front gates as we speak. They won't survive long.” Mika was wide-eyed, her heart beating fast. “Why won't they survive?” “Because of my secret weapon,” Naraku said, entering the room. “Whatever it is, they can beat it!” Naraku began to laugh softly. In his hands, he held a black necklace, red light radiating from it. “But what if, they had to fight you? Could they beat you, Mika?” Mika saw him step closer. “I…I don't know.” Naraku laughed again as he placed the necklace around Mika's neck. “Well then, let's find out, shall we?”

Soon, the gang had broken through the front gates. “Where to now, Inuyasha?” Miroku asked. Inuyasha sniffed the air. “This way. Come on!” Sesshomaru rushed to catch up with his brother. “Inuyasha, do you smell what I smell?” “You mean Mika? Of course I do.” “Your senses are weaker than I thought. Her scent has changed, Inuyasha.” Inuyasha sniffed the air again. It was Mika's scent, but, as Sesshomaru had said, something was definitely different. “She smells so…so dark. How is that possible?” “Naraku must have altered her in some way. No doubt we will find out soon enough.” Soon, Miroku and Sango had caught up with the two inu-brothers. “So, do you smell her?” Sango asked. “Yeah. But something's wrong. And we're about to find out what.” Inuyasha shoved open a large set of doors and ran into the dimly lit room before him. “Mika? Mika, where are you?” Out of the darkness, two figures stepped towards him. “Mika, is that you?” But the voice he heard next was not Mika's. “Mika is here, Inuyasha, but not the Mika you remember. It's a bit dark in here, I suppose. Kanna, turn on the lights.” Suddenly, the room was filled with light, making the figures visible. One was Naraku and the other, Mika. However, Mika had indeed changed. Her hair was deep scarlet with black streaks. The ears atop her head, red with black tips, twitched as she snarled. Her nails and fangs had lengthened. Her eyes were silver and her kimono was now black with red mixed in. Around her neck was a black necklace, red light surrounding it. “Inuyasha,” she growled. “Mika…” Inuyasha was at a loss for words. What had Naraku done to her? Now, the others had entered the room and saw what he did. “Mika, what has he done to you, sister?” Miroku and Sango could not speak. Even Kirara seemed afraid of her. “I have done nothing to your precious hanyou. All I did was bring out her good side, her youkai side. That shouldn't be a problem. Five against one? Surely you will defeat her with ease. You may even kill her in the process. Good luck.” Naraku laughed loudly and then banished, leaving them alone with Mika. “Inuyasha, what do we do?” Sango asked. Inuyasha unsheathed his Tetsuiga and wiped a tear from his eye. “We do what we have to. We fight her!”
