Chapter 3: Enter Kouga

“Ugh, it hasn't even been a week yet, and already these white walls are giving me a headache,” whined Kagome.

After a few days of unpacking and arranging of the things in their dorms, Kagome and the others grew bored of doing the same thing. So, now they were sitting in Sango's and Kagome's dorms, on the couch, watching TV, well more like trying to find something to watch. There seemed to be nothing good on, so they just kept on channel surfing passing the same channels over and over……and over again.

“Oh good, I thought I was the only one who felt that way. Too bad we can't paint them,” sighed Sango.

“Um, why don't you guys just put up posters so you can't see so much of the white. I know you guys have boxes full of posters,” suggested Miroku as he stared at the TV screen.

Sango and Kagome looked at each other for a second before turning back to the screen and simple said, “We're too lazy,” while Kagome changed the channel.

“Of course,” Miroku rolled his eyes.

A few minutes later a knock was heard coming from the door. Kagome and Sango just looked at each other, again, before transferring their sight towards Miroku and pouted a little. Miroku didn't notice them and just kept on staring at the television until he felt some one starting at him. He slowly turned to find two pouting girls stare at him with puppy dog eyes. After letting out a loud sigh Miroku pulled himself off the couch and walked lazily down the hall towards the door, while Kagome and Sango looked back at the TV.

“Kagome it's for you,” Miroku said as he came back down the hall and leaned against the couch.

“Oh really, who is it?” asked Kagome while she looked at Miroku.

“Hey is there a Miss Kagome Higurashi in this room,” asked a voice coming from the hall. Who ever it was, was coming into the room.

Kagome turned her head to see her wolf demon friend, Kouga, appear. After letting out a giggle Kagome ran over and threw her hands around Kouga's neck. Sango got up and went to stand next to Miroku. Neither of them were really fond of the guy, but they did their best to get along with him when Kagome was with them.

You see Kouga came into the picture in 6th grade, and had always had a huge crush on Kagome. And since Inuyasha liked Kagome too they had always fought, and had even became enemies. All through out middle school and the two years of high school, Inuyasha and Kouga would always try and humiliate each other. When Inuyasha had finally moved, Kouga had figured it was his time to swoop in and take Kagome for his own but when he saw how upset she was he couldn't do it. So he had made up a plan, to first become like a brother to Kagome and then talk her into a date and then things would just move on from there. Miroku and Sango both knew of this plan of course, it was just too obvious but they still hated Kouga all the same for trying to take Kagome away from them and use Kagome's feeling about Inuyasha against her. Especially with his little good boy act when they both knew that all Kouga wanted was to get in Kagome's pants.

Kagome had become great friends with the wolf demon and for some reason had never suspected anything bad from him. He had simply helped her out through a rough time in her life and she was thankful for it, even though she had Miroku and Sango with her too.

“Hey Kouga,” Kagome laughed as she hugged him, “You got into Kyoto University too?”

“Of course! I tried to call your house to tell you, but your mom said that you were already here. So I decided to come, find what dorm you were in, and say hi,” Kouga shot Kagome a charming smile.

“Well what dorm are you in?” Kagome asked again.

“I'm in this one oddly enough. I'm on the 5th floor, in room 132. I guess we'll get to hang out a lot then,” Kouga winked.

“Yeah that would be……….” Started Kagome until she heard.

*SLAP* and “You pervert Miroku!!!!”

Both Kouga and Kagome looked over at Sango and Miroku to find Miroku with a red handprint on his face and Sango glaring at him.

“But Sango, I could have sworn I saw something there a second ago,” whined Miroku as he rubbed his cheek.

“They're still at it, huh?” Kouga laughed.

“Yeah, hopefully they'll realize their TRUE feelings for each other soon,” Kagome sighed as she slowly shook her head.

“Did you say something KAGOME,” Sango glared at Kagome.

“Hehehe………um, no. Of course not,” Kagome laughed nervously.

“OK, so how about we all go out for pizza? I'm buying,” Kouga asked the group of friends.

Miroku, Kagome, and Sango all looked at each other for a second before smiling and nodding. They were all really hungry and they hadn't gone shopping for food yet. Besides why would Sango and Miroku give up an opportunity to make Kouga pay for something?

So within an hour all four of them were and the nearest Pizza Hut sitting in a booth waiting for their pizza to be ready. It was now two in the afternoon, and since Kagome, Miroku, and Sango hadn't eaten lunch they were very hungry.

“So it seems that a lot of our friends…….and foes are going to Kyoto University this year. Hasn't anyone heard of going to college out of town,” sighed Kagome.

“Hahaha, yeah. Ayame is even going to Kyoto, I saw her a few days ago,” said Kouga as he took a gulp of his Pepsi.

“Aww, Ayame. So have you thought about asking her out? You two would be great for each other,” Kagome smiled as she nudged Kouga.

“I don't know. She's not really my type,” Kouga sighed.

“Oh and what's your type, Kouga,” Sango asked as she leaned her elbow on the table.

“Oh I don't know. Some one I can easily talk to, and some one who doesn't take a lot of crap from people. She has to be really hot, and I'd say I would want to have known her for awhile,” Kouga winked at Sango and then flashed a charming smile at Kagome.

Sango and Miroku looked at each other for a second before glaring back at Kouga. A few minutes later their pizza came and they all started to eat. They talked about classes, and what interesting things they did over the summer. It turned out that Kouga was going to be in Kagome's Sketch and Drawing, and Astronomy class. This made Sango and Miroku even more angry since neither were in those classes to protect Kagome from the, “Big Bad Wolf.”

All of the sudden Kagome's cell phone rang. Before answering it she looked at the ID to see that it was her mom.

“Hey mom, what's up?” Kagome asked as she picked up the phone.

“Hi hunny. Um, I just wanted to tell you that you might want to come home soon,” Her mom said suspiciously

“What, why?” Kagome raised her eyebrow.

“Well your brother kind of broke his leg at soccer practice today. We're at the hospital right now,” Mrs. Higurashi explained.

“WHAT!?!?” Kagome shouted as she stood up.

“Yeah. We're at the Kyoto hospital right now and we're going to be here for a few hours, so if you want to….” Kagome's mom started until Kagome cut in.

“Damn straight I coming……I'll be there in about 30 minutes,” Kagome said as she got out of the booth.

Mrs. Higurashi sighed before hanging up the phone leaving Kagome starting in front of her friends looking at her with all their eyebrows raised.

“Um…..yeah. Souta broke his leg so I have to go,” Kagome explained.

“We're coming with you,” Miroku and Sango said that the same time.

“Ok then. Well I guess we'll see you later Kouga. Thanks for the pizza,” Kagome smiled as she, Sango, and Miroku walked out the door.

(At Kyoto Hospital)

“I'm gone for less then a week and already you guys are falling apart,” Kagome sighed as she sat in a hospital chair.

“Shut up, it wasn't my fault,” whined Souta as he lay in bed.

“How'd this happen anyway Souta?” Sango asked.

“Well me, Shippo, and Kohaku were walking home from practice when we ran into Rin. So we started to play soccer in the streets, and when Shipoo passed me the ball I tripped on it and stumbled backwards. And then………..I kinda, caught my foot on a rock and my leg smashed into the curb,” Souta laughed nervously as he rubbed the back of his neck.

“Well that's lame. If you were going to break your leg, might as well do it in a cool way,” Kagome said while laughing a little.

“Come on Kagome, give him a break,” Miroku sighed.

“What? I'm just saying,” Kagome said as she got out of her chair and walked towards the door.

“It's getting kinda late, shouldn't we get make to the dorms?” Miroku asked as he looked out the window and saw that the sun was starting to set.

“I guess you're right, we still have some unpacking to do anyway. So come on guys,” Kagome leaned against the door frame.

“Ok well see you later Souta,” Sango smiled as she and Miroku left the room.

“Later, Souta. Get better soon,” Kagome winked and then exitied the room.

Miroku, Sango, and Kagome all entered the car and slowly drove back to the dorms. One thing was for sure, they were going to go home, watch movies, and then sleep in as long as they could the next morning. Then, it would be back to unpacking, they just couldn't wait.

This isn't really one of my best chapters but I thought it was ok, since some of the events in this chapter were things I really needed/wanted to happen. I'm hoping that at least a few of you enjoyed it. I would like to get at least 3 reviews before I update again. I already have the next chapter typed up and everything, now I'm just waiting for reviews. ^_^
