Kagome was able to bring her baby to work with her and no one seemed to mind. Even the customers loved to see the little guy. When he was about 6 months he loved the attention of new people as they played with him while his mother rang them up. When someone would ask where the dad was she told them he died. Every thing went fine until one day when a few of her old classmates happened to come in.

Kagome was looking at a baby magazine as her son played with To-to his little brown dog. She could hear him giggling happily next to her. Putting down her magazine she picked him up holding him.
“Hey there baby, you playing with your little doggy?” He responded shaking his dog up and down. She giggled and kissed his forehead and put him down in his stroller.
“Aww look what I found…” She stiffened as the voice behind her sounded. She slowly got up turning around. “It's the little slutty mother and her filthy son.” She laughed along with her little friends.
“How can I help you?” Kagome bit.
“Such hostility Kagome…” She said walking around to the other side. “… Hes very cute.” She said and picked him up.
“Put him down Naomi.” Kagome growled. Kin started to cry getting scared by the woman holding him.
“He would be so cute if his mother wasn't a whore.” She laughed. Kagome walked over to her and took Kin back. He clung onto her and stopped crying.
“IF you don't have anything to purchase I suggest you leave.” Kagome said watching her walk over by the register. She looked at the phone and smiled. She picked it up and pushed down the speaker button.
“Attention all Walmart customers, the young lady at register 6 with the baby is a slut. The father didn't die, infact she doesn't know who he is. She slept with too many men to even know. So rethink any tips you might give the whore.” By then everyone looked at her and Kagome was crying. Naomi smiled and put down the phone walking out. Her boss showed up as they left and Kagome turned her head away in shame. Nozomi, her boss, came up and held her shoulders.
“Is that true Kagome?” She asked. Kagome shook her head. “Is he really dead?” Kagome shook her head again.
“He left when I was pregnant and I never heard form him again.” Kagome said shakily. Nozomi held her close as Kagome cried.
“It's ok.” Nozomi said pulling away. She went to the phone. “Ladies and gentlemen, as you know Kagome, the cashier at register six infact has a baby and knows who the father is but he is dead now. Please forgive the message earlier from a customer who hacked onto the speaker. Have a nice day.” She turned and smiled at Kagome who smiled back.

Later that night Kagome fed her son some gerber baby food as he sat in his high chair. He had some of his father's qualities and was maturing faster then normal kids, but didn't age as fast. She sat laughing with him as she spoon fed him.
“Aaahhmmm.” She said as he took a bite and he smiled and giggled slapping his hands together. She loved him so much. He reminded her more of his father everyday. He had his ears and hands and half his eyes. Sighing she wiped her son's mouth and picked him up. He giggled and yawned. Kagome laughed and took him upstairs giving him a bath before settleing him down into his crib. She tucked him in and kissed his forehead as he fell fast asleep. She picked up a few scattered toys putting them away before sitting down on the couch. She sighed as she thought of him. She wished he was here to help with his son. No, she just wished he was here period. She laid down and did what she normally did, cried herself to sleep.
