Push Comes to Shove

Summary: Inuyasha and Kagome are in high school together, the perfect relationship ever. Inuyasha gets an offer to study at the best school in the world, literally. Kagome wishes him the best of luck and promises to await his return. After a month Inuyasha moves without telling her, leaving her with a secret. Four Years later he returns with a fiancé. How will she react? Will she tell him her secret? Or will he be kept in the dark about his own son?

“Sesshomaru…” Kagome gasped. “What are you doing here?” She asked clearing her throat.

“I've come to retrieve someone. May I come in?” Kagome looked back towards the kitchen then sighed.

“Yes, but please be quiet my son is sleeping.” She said and took out the lock stepping aside to let him enter. “Kitchen.” She said pointing and followed him there.

“Kagome who…” Inuyasha stiffened at the sight of his brother.

“Hello little brother.” Sesshomaru said smirking.

“What are you doing here?” Inuyasha growled softly.

“I came to get you. You have a wedding to attend.” Sesshomaru stated.

“I told you already I'm not marrying that cold bitch Kikyo.” Inuyasha replied.

“Maybe you do not understand brother, you have a responsibility to our family. We won't have you marrying some low born bitch like her.” Kagome glared at Sesshomaru's back. “And if she wants to live another day I suggest she stop glaring at this Sesshomaru.”

“Sesshomaru I am going to marry Kagome. I love her and if you know almost everything then you would know that I'm doing the most responsible thing by staying here.”

“She might have bore your son Inuyasha, but that makes no difference. Kagome will be well paid to keep her silence about it.” He said pulling out his wallet.

“Payment is not necessary Sesshomaru. I have told no one except my close friends that Kin is Inuyasha's.” Kagome said softly.

“Well Naomi knows. Which is how I found you both easily.” Sesshomaru said.

“Sesshomaru, I'm going to marry Kagome and if you think….”

“Mommy? What's going on?” Kin interrupted rubbing his eyes. He looked up at Sesshomaru and smiled. “Are you my Uncle? You smell like daddy, cept your full demnon.” He said walking over to him. Sesshomaru looked to Kagome.

“Your call Sesshomaru.” Kagome said.

“No I'm not your Uncle. And Inuyasha is not your father.” He said.

“Really low Sesshomaru.” Inuyasha said picking up his son. “You know he's mine. You can smell it.” Inuyasha growled holding Kin.

“You three can discuss this with Father. Get packed we leave now.” He said and walked out to the living room. Kagome took Kin and headed for his room. About 45 minutes later Kagome, with help of Inuyasha brought out kins bag, following Sesshomaru downstairs to the limo. Kin fell asleep in the back quarters of the limo where a few seats and pillows were. The ride to the mansion was quiet. Inuyasha and Kagome held hands the entire way sitting next to each other. When it finally stopped Kin had woken up and sat on Inuyasha's lap playing with a ball he'd gotten out before the bag was put in the trunk. Kagome thought it would be best if she got Kin and carried him in, her hand never leaving Inuyasha's. `His home… eh… Mansion…no Castle is huge!' Kagome thought.

“Wow who live here?” Kin asked.

“Inuyasha's mom and dad so be on your best behavior.” Kagome whispered. Kin nodded and smiled. He looked over at Sesshomaru and at his fluffy garb.

“Umm, uncle fluffy do you live here too?” Sesshomaru came to a halt and Kagome and Inuyasha laughed softly.

“I guess he truly is your son little brother. He is as much of a neusence as you.” He growled and kept walking. They walked through the giant door and followed Sesshomaru down a hallway. Kagome set down Kin still holding his hand. He stopped in front of a door and opened it letting Inuyasha, Kagome and Kin pass. Kin stopped getting out of Kagome's hand and looked up at Sesshomaru.

“Sorry I make you mad Uncle Fluffy.” He said cutely. Sesshomaru just stared down at him. Kin smiled then skipped off. Sesshomaru shook his head and reluctantly followed. They went down another long hallway and were ushered into a large meeting hall and sat down at a large table. Kin was given his ball back and he sat on the floor by the wall playing silently. The double doors close to them burst open projecting Izayoi and Inuyasha's father, Inu no Tashio.

“Where is he?” He boomed and Inuyasha and Kagome stood up.

“Mother, Father.” Inuyasha said bowing slightly.

“Mr. and Mrs. Tashio.” Kagome said also bowing, except lower.

“Oh Kagome, I haven't seen you in a very long time.” His mother said smiling.

“Kagome.” His father said and smiled slightly. All of them sat down when the parents did. “I'm surprised to see you here Kagome.”

“Yes sir. Please don't blame Inuyasha for all this part of it is my own doing.” Kagome said softly. Inuyasha took her hand under the table stroking it with his thumb.

“None of this is your fault Kagome. Inuyasha you will remain here under our supervision until his wedding.” His father said.

“Ok, but I haven't asked Kagome yet.” He replied.

“Kagome has nothing to do with this.” Inuyasha's father said harshly.

“Yes, she does. She…” Inuyasha's father frowned looking down and held up a red ball. Izayoi felt a tug on her sleeve and looked down at the little boy before her.

“Sorry, can I haf ball back please?” He asked shyly. His mother gasped.

“Who is this? He's so cute.” She squealed and picked up the boy.

“I'm Kin.” He said proudly. “And that's my daddy.” He said pointing to Inuyasha. His mom's eyes widened and looked at Inuyasha.

“Is this true son?” His father growled.

“Yes sir it is.” Kagome intervened. “Please sir, it's not his fault. I never told him he had a child until he found out yesturday.” She said softly.

“Father, I want your approval to marry her. I don't want to leave her alone with a child that was my doing.” He said.

“Inuyasha, you know this marriage is an alliance, we can't have you marrying Kagome. Kagome I'm sorry but we need this, the business is starting to suffer and I can't let that happen. A marriage between Kikyo and Inuyasha is the only option we have.” He said handing her Kin. Kagome nodded and picked him up.

“It's ok, no one else has to know. Me and Kin are happy by ourselves.” Kagome assured him.

“Father please I…”

“Inuyasha there is nothing left to say, I will see to it that Kagome is taken home safely by a driver.” His father said motioning to one of the servants.

“No, I will take her. A chance for a proper goodbye.” Inuyasha said sadly. “Come on.” He whispered taking her shoulder and leading her out. When they were at the door Kin popped over Kagome's shoulder making himself visible to his other relatives.

“Bye Gampa!” Kin called waving. His father smiled and waved watching them leave.

“Do you really think we are doing what's best?” Izayoi asked her husband as the door shut.

“We can't loose the business and we will gain a huge profit if we merge.” Inu no Tashio answered plainly.

“Ah yes, lets make sure to put business ahead of happiness, after all he is only our son.” Izayoi replied sarcastically.

“Some things have to be lost to be gained.” He replied harshly.

“Well from the way I see it more has been lost.” Izayoi said walking out and shutting the door behind her.

“How do you see this my son? As a gain or loss?” Inu no Tashio asked.

“A gain for the business, but not for the half breeds.” He answered walking out. Inu no Tashio sighed. Was it really best to go through with this, true the company could survive, but it would be better to merge. But with the gain of money and power, he lost his grandson, probably forever.
