Torn Apart
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha
Summary: Inuyasha and Kagome are in high school together, the perfect relationship ever. Inuyasha gets an offer to study at the best school in the world, literally. Kagome wishes him the best of luck and promises to await his return. After a month Inuyasha moves without telling her, leaving her with a secret. Four Years later he returns with a fiancé. How will she react? Will she tell him her secret? Or will he be kept in the dark about his own son?
The car ride was quiet except for the occasional giggle or sound from Kin behind them as he played with his toys. Eventually he fell fast asleep plunging the car into total silence. Kagome looked behind her and placed the blanket over Kin's sleeping form. She came back only looking forward.
“How is he?” Inuyasha whispered. Kagome looked over at him.
“Fine, he's asleep. I'll explain things to him in the morning.” Kagome said looking out her window.
“Listen Kagome I…”
“You don't need to say anything Inuyasha. I know your family expects a lot from you. Kin and I will do just fine. I'll make sure and send you his picture and how hes doing every year.” Kagome assured him. Inuyasha nodded and pulled into her parking lot. He turned off the car and got out getting the car seat while Kagome got Kin and his bag. They both went up the stairs and went in the apartment. They set the stuff by the door and Kagome went into Kin's room tucking him in. Inuyasha came in behind her and bent down ruffling the boy's hair and smiling sadly.
“Bye Kin, nice knowing you buddy.” He whispered kissing his forehead and standing up facing Kagome. He could see the unshed tears in her eyes as he walked past her into the hall. She wiped her eyes and walked out closing the door leaning against it.
“I'm sorry Inuyasha, If I would have…”
“Stop it! It's my fault for not being there for you two, for leaving you all alone.” Inuyasha said pulling her into a tight embrace, which Kagome returned. She buried her face into his shoulder and cried softly. “Ssshhh, it will be ok.” Inuyasha whispered knowing it wouldn't help. He was leaving her once again alone. “Let me have you. Just for tonight. A memory.” He whispered stroking her back. She shook her head.
“I already have one kid who will grow up with only knowing his father for a day or two, I can't bare another who won't ever meet his.” Kagome said getting out of his grasp. “I think it would be best if you just left. The sooner you get married the sooner you can have other kids and forget about me and Kin.” Kagome said turning and walking back in her room and closed the door only to have it stopped by a clawed hand. He opened the door fully.
“Is that what you think? That after all this I will forget about you two just like that? How can you think that? I know you may not believe it, but I love our son, I love you. You can't stand here and tell me you will find someone else and forget all about me.” He said closing the door.
“Well I can and you will too!” She said turning around. He grabbed her wrist and turned her back.
“Bull Shit! You're lying to me, to yourself. Kagome please let me send money or something to help you two.” He said lowly. Kagome broke down in sobs and collapsed into his arms. He held her rocking her, soothing her.
“No, we'll make it on our own. OH god, why does it have to be like this! I've had to loose you twice now! I hate it!” Kagome said crying into his shirt. He rocked her in his arms till she had worn herself out from crying. He picked her up and set her down on the bed pulling the covers over her. He bent down tracing, memorizing the contours of her face with his finger.
“Good bye Kagome.” He whispered and stood up leaving the apartment and speeding back to his home. He parked the car and stormed into the mansion walking up to his fathers study, where he knew he was. He swung open the door and slammed it behind him. “I hope you're happy father, I have now said good bye to the love of my life, and my son for good to marry Kikyo and get more money for our family! For generations our family has had this business and one day it will be mine and I will accept it graciously. But where our blood line begins in you will stop with me. I will wed Kikyo, but you can be damn sure that's where it will end. She can find her extasy in someone else because I will never give her that satisfaction!” He yelled and stomped out and back to his room. His father sat there in shock at his son's outburst. He removed his glasses and set them down burying his face in his hands. `What have I done?' He thought sadly. He heard a small knock at the door.
“Enter!” He growled sitting up. Izayoi came in and stood behind him and massaged his shoulders. He sighed loudly. “What am I going to do with him? Doesn't he get that family is more important then pleasure?” He growled.
“I think he does fully understand it.” Izayoi said sternly.
“Then why is he disobeying me?” He sighed.
“Because he is trying to do what is most important for HIS family, not ours.” She said softly.
“But the business…”
“How can you think about business?” She asked withdrawing her hands. “You have now chosen a few bucks over your grandson.”
“Those few bucks are what keeps us alive.” He growled standing and facing her. She chuckled shaking her head.
“I don't know you anymore. Why don't you put yourself in his position! What would you have done if you had to marry someone else when you found out I was having your son? He can't just leave her alone. I saw your face when you held your grandson. Even if it was brief.” She said frowning.
“I've always wanted a grandson, you know that. But business sometimes comes first.” He sighed.
“You're right. And in this case your business will last until Inuyasha is dead then fall into the hands of another because his son will be nothing but a memory. Just an FYI, you might have gained money, but you've lost in everything else.” She said walking out. He looked away growling internally. Why was everything so bad? They were going to become a major company. That's all that mattered …right?

The next day Kagome drove up to the house in jeans, a white tube top, jean jacket and some sunglasses. She knocked on the door and waited. A little toad demon answered, she knew him well.
“May I help you?” He sneered.
“Yes Jaken, I am here on personal business I want to see the Tashio's.” Kagome smiled removing her sunglasses.
“Come in.” He said moving to the side.
“Thank you.” Kagome said moving inside and stepping to the side for Jaken.
“This way.” Jaken said and lead Kagome to Inu no Tashio's study.
“Why are you here?” Sesshomaru's voice came from a hall. Kagome turned around and bowed slightly.
“Sesshomaru, I had some final things to deliver from Kin. He insisted I drop them off. He's in the car.” She said walking over to him and pulling out an envelope. “Here, that one is for you.” She said walking off with Jaken. Sesshomaru was curious as to the paper in his hand. He opened it and unfolded a piece of paper.
Deer Uncle Fluffy
Mommy says I cant se you anymoore so I want say bye. Pleeze take care of Gampe and daddy for me.
Kin
P.s. I drew the pictre for you.
Sesshomaru read silently and looked at the picture of a stick figure with long hair and a scribble on his side, he assumed to be his `fluff' under a bright golden smiling sun and green scribbles below. He shook his head and folded it back up placing it in his pocket and walking back to his study putting it with the many pictures Rin had drawn him. How fast they grow up. She was offworking down at some resturaunt called Salt…weird name.

Kagome entered the large study to see Inuyasha's father sitting at his desk with tons of books and his reading glasses on.
“Mr. Tashio.” She said bowing slightly.
“Kagome, what brings you here?” He asked getting up and removing his glasses.
“Well, Kin wanted me to deliver the letters and drawings he made, he's out in the car waiting.” She said handing him an envelope. He raised his head and nodded his thanks. “Oh, and this is for your wife.” She said handing him another she pulled out.
“I'm sure she will love it. She always seemed to collect the boys drawings.” He smirked putting them down.
“Yeah, I collect quite a few myself.” She said softly. “I better go give this to Inuyasha and be on my way. Have a nice day sir.” Kagome said bowing and turning to leave.
“Kagome, you know why I have to do this don't you?” He asked and she stopped.
“I hold no grudge against you Mr. Tashio, you're doing what you think is best for the family. I am not trying to get in your way I only want what's best for my child just like you.” She answered walking out and shutting the door.
“Kagome?” She turned around to see Inuyasha.
“Yeah umm hi. Uhh, your son made me deliver these to you guys. He's as stubborn as you.” She laughed handing him the small file. “He wanted to give you some of his old drawings and stuff that he made.” Kagome continued.
“Thank you.” He said softly.
“Well I better go.” She said walking back towards the door.
“Kagome!” She turned around. He walked up to her handing her a small note and walking off. Kagome walked out to the car keeping the note securely in her hand. She opened the door and closed it getting in.
“Did you gif daddy the stuff?” Kin asked.
“Yes I did.” She said opening the note. “And he gave me a note back.” Kagome said driving off back to their apartment.
