“I can't believe you are doing this Kagome.” Sango said as she lay on her belly on Kagome's bed, her head propped up in her hands.
“I know, but he wants to see me. And I wanna see him.” Kagome said as she was trying on her fifth outfit.
“Kagome hes inviting you to one of the hottest clubs in town.” Sango squealed.
“I know.” She said excitedly and collapsing on the bed next to her. “Sango tell me I'm not making it harder on us both by going?” She sighed.
“I can't say that, but I think you both need this. I knew you both before and you two were perfect, and after talking with Miroku it sounds like he really still loves you.” Sango said nudging her.
“Yeah but we can't ever be together. He has to marry someone else. I need to just let him go!” Kagome sighed.
“Kagome, you won't ever let him go. I know you. Look, tonight think of it as a final dance before parting. Have fun. In the morning you get up and take care of that handsome young man in there and go on with your life. I won't say forget him cause it doesn't work like that, but I think you both NEED this.” Sango said.
“You're right, maybe I'll even date Kouga, he's been asking me a lot lately.” Kagome sighed as she got up and went through her closet again.
“Why not, it wouldn't hurt to try. Maybe it will help. Who knows?” Sango said and sat up as Kagome came out in a red dress that tied around the neck and stopped at her knees that glided with her body as she moved. “Perfect.” Sango said.
“I think so too.” She sighed looking in the mirror.
~~~~
Kagome walked into the club and was being led by a young redhead to a table in the corner where she could see Inuyasha waiting. She smiled as he looked up and saw her, his mouth dropping. He got up as she approached the table and took her hand kissing it as the young lady walked away.
“You look radiant Kagome.” He said softly allowing her to sit down across from him at the booth.
“Thank you, you look very nice yourself.” Kagome replied smiling. “So what did you want to talk about?” Kagome asked.
“Well, I had to see you one last time.” He answered softly looking at her.
“Inuyasha, you know I will always love you, and so will Kin. God knows he wants to be just like you from all the stories I've told him. And I think tonight we both NEED eachother, as a final good bye.” Kagome said. He nodded and stood up holding out his hand.
“Come on, I didn't bring you here for nothing.” He said pulling her up and leading her into the other room to dance. The music was loud, but not too loud and Kagome wrapped her arm around him as he led her to the middle of the floor. He placed his arms around her waist and she around his neck dancing to some type of like salsa mix. She always loved the way he danced. It made her smile, laugh, feel safe, wanted, loved. He ground himself into her along with the music and she followed his lead never loosing eye contact. The song changed into a slow song and they slowly swayed with the music.
I'm so tired of being here.
Opressed by all my childish fears.
And if you have to leave,
I wish that you would just leave.
cause your presence still lingers here,
and it won't leave me alone.
These wounds won't seem to heal,
this pain is just too real,
there's just too much that time cannot erase.
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears,
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears.
I held your hand through all of these years.
But you still have...
All of me.
Kagome leaned her head on Inuyasha's chest as they danced and could feel his cheek nuzzle her head.
You used to captivate me by your resonating light,
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind.
Your face it haunts, my once pleasant dreams
Your voice has chased away all the sanity in me.
These wounds won't seem to heal,
this pain is just too real,
there's just too much that time cannot erase.
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears,
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears.
I held your hand through all of these years.
But you still have...
All of me.
I tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone.
But though you're still with me,
I've been alone all along.
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears,
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears.
I held your hand through all of these years.
But you still have...
Kagome leaned back and looked up at Inuyasha. He looked back and slowly lowered his lips to gently touch hers for what seemed like eternity.
All of me…..
~~~~~~
Inuyasha walked Kagome up to her door after hours of dancing together. She unlocked it and turned around.
“Inuyasha, thank you. I won't ever forget this night.” She smiled. He reached down and placed his hands on her arms and giving her one final kiss. They broke all too son for both of them.
“Neither will I. Goodbye Kagome.” He whispered and turned away. Kagome watched him walk away. When he was gone down the stairs she turned and went in the apartment. She locked the door and set down her purse. She walked back into Kin's room and found him fast asleep. She smiled and closed the door walking over to her room and finding her friend fast asleep spread across the whole bed. She giggled a little bit and closed the door. Walking back over to the living room she put a pillow on one end and laid down on the couch. Sango was right. She didn't hurt so bad after tonight. And from now on she would take care of her little angle and keep on going with her life, but that didn't mean she wouldn't stop loving Inuyasha or hope he would come back, but she had to move on and keep going. Sango had offered to help out a little now that she was off school for awhile but Kagome declined. Kin loved going to work with her and playing with the other kids in the back room. Kagome allowed herself to go to sleep taking away the pain she felt after Inuyasha had left. Tomorrow was another day.
~~~~~
Inuyasha got back and walked down the long hallways into his room. He threw down his keys on the dresser and looked over seeing the folder he had received from Kagome sitting there, yet to be unopened. He picked it up and walked over to the bed and sat down opening it. He pulled out a stack of papers and on top was a letter from Kin.
Daddy
Mommy say I wont se you for awhille an I wana say I will misss you. Her are som of my drawins an stuf I did 4 you. By by daddy.
Lov
Kin
Inuyasha smiled at his son's writing and put the letter in the back going through the papers. He couldn't help but laugh at all the stick drawings of them together Kin had done. Then there was a few projects he did from the Walmart child center in the back where he went. He looked over one and smiled.
My daddy
My daddy will be kool an have longg heir lik me. Mommy say my daddy has longg sliver heir an lille pupy eers lik me. I wana met my daddy so mommy wont be sad anymor. She liks 2 tel me storys of him. I hope I met him soon so we can be one big famalie again.
Inuyasha put down the papers and rubbed his face in his hands. He wanted so badly to marry her and take his place as the father he always wanted to be in their lives, in hers. When he had left he found out he was to marry Kikyo and wanted Kagome to get angry at him for not call and forget about him, but she didn't. She kept to her word. So many nights he would be awake sitting by the window looking out thinking of only one thing Kagome. He dreamt of having a son with her almost every night, a little boy, just like Kin. Why couldn't his father let him be happy and forget the money? If he just left his family he would be happy, but he wouldn't be able to provide Kagome and Kin with all the beautiful and special things they deserved. It was a no win situation.
“You win pop. I will marry Kikyo, but you can bet I will stay to my word and never produce an heir.” He whispered to the darkness.
~~~~~
Inu no Tashio stood in his study looking out the window. He knew he was sacrificing his sons happiness, and he wanted to tell him the true reasons behind his order to marry the girl. He glanced over at the envelope and took it in his hand opening it as if it were a fragile jewel incased. He took out the paper and looked over the stick figure drawing of six people on some grass with trees and a smiling sun. Three of them had long white hair and were quite tall and the other three had black hair. Above the drawing were the words: My Famalie. His smile faded and he put the drawing down on his desk and sat down. He realized Izayoi was right. Where he had won money and power he not only sacrificed his son, but his daughter and grandson as well. But still the business in this case had to come first, didn't it?
~~~~~
Kagome sighed as she looked over her magazine. It was a slow day today with barely anyone in. Flipping the page she looked over the top news in fashion. `I wonder if Inuyasha is thinking of me? It's been 3 days since I've seen him. I hope he's happy. That's all I want. I hope Kin will keep up being happy. He keeps asking to see him and I don't have heart to tell him he won't ever.' Kagome thought and started to choke up.
“Hi Kagome.” A familiar voice rang. She jumped a little and set down her magazine.
“Hi Kouga, how are you today?” Kagome said cheerily. She really didn't want to deal with him right now.
“I'm great. I got to see your face today.” He said taking her hand and kissing it.
“Ummm thank you Kouga.” Kagome said shyly.
“Anything for you Kagome. You know, I know this great resturant just down the road and I would love to take you out this Saturday.” He said leaning over the counter.
“Oh well, umm that would be nice.” Kagome said backing up.
“Great I will pick you up around 8.” He said winking.
“Ok, umm… here's my address.” Kagome said writing it down on a piece of paper and giving it to him.
“Thanks, see you soon.” He said winking and walking off.
“Bye Kouga!” She called after him. Something told her she was making a mistake going out with him on Saturday. But maybe it would help. So then why did she feel like she was cheating on Inuyasha?
