Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or the restaurant Salt; I just saw it on T.V.
Summary: Inuyasha and Kagome are in high school together, the perfect relationship ever. Inuyasha gets an offer to study at the best school in the world, literally. Kagome wishes him the best of luck and promises to await his return. After a month Inuyasha moves without telling her, leaving her with a secret. Four Years later he returns with a fiancé. How will she react? Will she tell him her secret? Or will he be kept in the dark about his own son?
A/n: Just to tell you all, I'm not a fan of Kouga as much as Fluffy (love that name lol) or Inu, sry. I'll try to make it good though, I just am not a huge fan of Kouga *makes face* But he's still kinda cool. And where do we recognize Mika from? Hmmm I wonder….
“Why can't I go mommy?” Kin whined for the hundredth time.
“Because I said no.” Kagome said sternly as she put on her coat over her black dress that was spaghetti strap and stopped at her knees and grabbed her purse. “Thank you so much again Mika.”
“Oh it's no problem, I'm just glad you are actually going on a date. Good luck.” Her coworker said giving her a friendly hug.
“Thanks. Ok now Kin you know the rules, be nice to Mrs. Uchiha and I want you in bed when I get back ok?” She asked. Kin nodded still pouting. “Bye sweetheart.” She said kissing him on the cheek and walking out the door to her car. She started her car and exited the parking lot. Kouga was nice, but he didn't know she had a four-year-old son. She decided that if things started to get serious then she would tell him and leave it up to him if he wanted to go further or not. But still, why did she feel like she was doing something wrong? Inuyasha was getting married to that girl Kikyo and they had officially agreed they couldn't see each other. `Then why do I feel so bad? Kin knows his real dad, so how will he react to Kouga? Especially if I decide to get married to him?' She thought as she pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant. `Well I have to give him a shot.' She thought turning off the car and getting out. She put her purse over her shoulder and took a few deep breaths as she walked toward the entrance of the restaurant. A young man in a suit bowed to her and opened the door. Kagome bowed back and entered looking around she spotted Kouga sitting over at a table talking to the waitress. She took a deep breath and slowly sauntered over there. `Remain calm; it's just a date. You're a single woman going on a date. With a guy who has no idea you have a son. Just enjoy yourself and if it gets serious you tell him before it gets too serious. Deep breaths Kagome, and smile, you're happy…despite the guilt which should not even be there, and the weird feeling something bad is going to happen. No, it will be fine! You're on a date smile, be happy. I'm happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, I'm so happy I'm gonna puke! Ok not working. Just be cool.' Kagome thought nervously as she walked toward him. Right as she was close the waitress nodded and left and he glanced up at her.
“Kagome, glad you could make it.” He said happily and got up and pulled out a chair for her.
“Thank you Kouga.” She said sitting down and allowing him to push her in a little. He walked around and sat down. “Wow this is nice.” Kagome said looking around the partly crowded, semi fancy room that was almost all black and white.
“Aahh, yes I come here a lot with friends and associates. It always seems high class yet casual, you know?” He asked smiling handsomely. Kagome smiled back and nodded. The waitress came back with a bottle of champagne in her hands smiling nicely.
“Welcome to Salt would you like some champagne for you both?” The girl asked and the couple (wow that felt weird -_-). She was about Kagome's height with dark brown/black hair that was cut choppily at her shoulder descending to the middle of her back and a small pony on the side of her head. She had brown eyes like Kagome except a little bigger and almost child like. She also had on black pants, white button up blouse, and tie making her look almost boyish, yet sowed off her petite form. Kagome sensed a familiarity to the girl. She poured Kouga some then poured some for Kagome.
“I'll be off in a few minutes and your other waiter will be here shortly.”
“Rin?” Kagome gasped. She looked at her and frowned then gasped.
“Kagome?” Kagome nodded and smiled. “Oh my god!” Rin squealed and hugged Kagome as she stood.
“Wow look at you! I haven't seen you in awhile.” Kagome smiled.
“Me neither. Wow. I have to finish work, but maybe we can hang out sometime. I'll come back and bring you my number in a few ok?” Rin said and Kagome nodded giving her one final hug. “Ok, see you in a few.” Rin called rushing off. Kagome looked back at Kouga who seemed a little annoyed.
“Oh sorry, we haven't seen each other since…” She stopped mid sentence. `That's right; Rin wasn't allowed to talk to me when I got pregnant. But I don't blame her father, I wouldn't let her either. If only he would have known it was his nephew.' Kagome thought sadly.
“Since…?” Kouga asked willing her to finish.
“Oh, since I dropped out of school for family matters, it's not important now.” Kagome said reaching for her glass and taking a huge swig. She heard the door chimes go off and turned to see who it was. She froze solid. Amber locked with brown. “Inuyasha?” She whispered.
