Proposal

“The meal was great Kouga thank you.” Kagome said reaching for her glass of blush.

“You are very welcome Kagome, I only wish I could spoil you like this every night.” Kouga replied toothily. Kagome gave him a sad smile and took a swig of her drink. “Kagome, I wanted you to contemplate something…” He began.

“Sure.” She replied uneasily.

“Kagome I know we have not know each other long, but I do feel that this is right. Kagome…” He paused to grab her hand. “…I would be eternally happy if you would consider becoming my woman officially.” He said thoughtfully. Kagome felt like she had been hit with a long in the stomach.

“You mean like marriage?” She whispered and watched as he nodded once. “Kouga I…” She looked at him sadly. “…There is something I have been meaning to tell you… I really don't know, how to say this but… I have a four year old son named Kin.” Kagome admitted sadly looking down at her lap.

“I know.” Kagome's head snapped up.

“You do? How?” She asked shocked.

“A friend of mine went to the same college with you and told me the story. I found out a few weeks ago. All the more reason to marry me Kagome. I know you must be struggling to provide for both of you, let me help you…please?” He asked sweetly.

“Kouga, I don't need your sympathy.” She replied softly.

“It's not sympathy, I just love you and I don't care if you have a son or not. I bet he is as great as you anyway.” He chuckled.

“Kouga…” Kagome started.

“Kagome…” He cut in. “I know you are like any good mother and only want what is best for your son. I know you don't have a lot of money and can't give your kid all you want. If you marry me then I can take care of you both, take care of you guys, give your kid a better life.” Kouga finished. “Kagome… you know I'm right. It's what's best for Kin.” Kagome nodded thoughtfully.

“Why don't I think about it tonight, and you can come by the house tomorrow and meet Kin, and I will give you my answer then.” Kagome replied smiling semi-sadly.

Kouga nodded happily.

“Come, tonight is supposed to be a happy night, lets have a dance.” He said getting up and extending a hand. Kagome nodded and allowed him to lead her out to the floor. He spun her once and pulled her close with one hand around her waist and the other holding hers. Kagome wrapped her arm around his shoulder leaning her chin on it and they slowly swayed with the music. `Kouga is right. Kin would be better off, not only financially but also with a father like figure in the house. Inuyasha would want us to be happy…right?' Kagome thought as they continued.

“YOU WHAT?!?!” Kagome winced holding the phone out. Yep that was a mistake letting Kouga answer the phone. That did not end well.

“Inuyasha please, me and Kin…” Kagome said calmly.

“YOU AND KIN WILL BE FINE IF YOU LET ME PAY CHILD SUPPORT!” Kagome once again held the phone out.

“Please stop yelling Inuyasha…” She said pinching her nose.

“Well I would if all of the sudden out of the blue you tell me you are getting married to one of my worst enemies no less!” Inuyasha growled.

“Well you wouldn't stop telling me it was bad to fuck some stray guy off the street in the same house as Kin.” She stated.

“Well, I didn't think you would get married for your own pleasure/” He growled again.

“How dare you say that! I'm not doing this only for me, I'm doing this for Kin too!” She argued.

“I don't think so I think you just need someone to fill my place.” Kagome took a calming breath.

“Maybe I do because you chose to abandon your family again.” There was silence on the other end. “Listen Inuyasha, maybe you forgot that I can be just as cruel as you can. Call us when you have grown up and are ready to talk at the level of your own age.” She said hanging up the phone. She laid her head against the wall. `Why does he have to act like that? Am I doing the right thing? Getting married to Kouga? God please help me, I can't do this on my own.' She silently prayed and walked back into the happy filled room where Kin and Kouga were playing.

Inuyasha stared at the phone when it clicked and slowly set it down, swallowing the lump that had risen in his throat. He sat there and rubbed his eyes. He knew she was right, he was abandoning them, but what could he do? Run to them and send them into debt which they had tried so hard not to go into? `I think a visit to Miroku is in order.' He thought getting up. He picked up his cell attaching it to his belt and grabbing his keys to his bike. He opened up the door and looked up when his eyes ran across a pair of feet. His eyes widened a little and he gasped at the person in front of him.

A/n: Uh, who will it be? Sorry for the short chapter guys I caught a bad cold, the next one will be longer, I promise. Any way, I don't know when the next update should be but if it will be delayed more then a week I'll let yall know. I might end up getting the whole chapter written in a day. N/e way going to get some rest now. Thx, Oh and I just found a great series I absolutely loved.
