Here Comes the Bride

“Inuyasha calm down!” Miroku scolded as Inuyasha paced back and fourth so fast it was making Miroku and everyone else in the room dizzy.

 

“Don't tell me to calm down!” He snapped back pacing even faster. Inu no Tashio stepped forward placing his hand at the back of his neck and squeezing the nerves. Inuyasha's head went back in hopes to dislodge him. “Ah stop!”

 

“Pup, you're going to pass out, just stay still!” He jerked his hand off letting Inuyasha go. Inuyasha straightened his hair and adjusted his new suit several times. When he wasn't his hands were twitching at his sides.

 

“For God's sake! You weren't this nervous before!” His father groaned.

 

“That's because this is Kagome.” Miroku said sipping his drink.

 

“Keh!” Inuyasha continued twitching. A small hand tugged on his jacket. Inuyasha bent down and leaned in.

 

“Mommy say you haffa wait.” Kin said softly like it was a secret. Inuyasha chuckled and scratched his head, behind his ears.

 

“Thanks kiddo.” Kin leaned into the touch just like he did when Kagome would touch his ears.

 

“Okay! Come on Kin. We are about to start and we need you in the back.” Sango said picking up Kin. “You too perv.” Sango said opening the door and waiting for him.

 

“I'm only a perv. for you.” He said walking past her.

 

“I know.” She replied simply, she was used to it now. “Good, now we have ten minutes we need to get back to the back. Izayoi is already back there, and everything else is set.” She explained. “See you guys at the altar.” She waved walking out. Having heard it be ten minutes made Inuyasha twitch even more.

 

“Inuyasha, if you don't stop I will tie you down until we have to go.”

“Kagome, if you don't stop I will tie you down until we have to go.” Rin cried as Kagome continued to pace, much slower then Inuyasha though.

 

“I can't I'm nervous.” She cried back.

 

“Well stop!” Rin instructed as Sango came in with Kin.

 

“Okay, are we all ready?” Sango asked cheerfully. She paused looking at Kagome who was talking to herself and pacing. “…My god she looks just like Inuyasha….”

 

“I don't know if I can do this…” Rin jumped up.

 

“Of course you can! You love Yash!” Rin assured her.

 

“Yeah, I know, but I feel like he is marrying me out of pity, I mean I have nothing to offer! I am just a plain girl who happened to have a son with a rich guy. I mean I don't even know what he sees in me!”

 

“Oh Kagome, you know Inuyasha loves you, you're beautiful.” Miroku added.

 

“You're right.”

 

“Of course I am.” Sango hit him on the head. “Ow.”

 

“Come on, let's go get you married.” Sango said handing her the boquet and setting down Kin. Kagome nodded.

 

“You guys go ahead, I'll be there in a minute, I promise.”

 

“Ok… See you in a few.” Sango said uncertainly and they all left. Kagome watched as the door slowly closed. When she heard the click she ran to the exit. (Uh oh!) She put her hand on the handle, but she couldn't turn it. She couldn't bring her hand to do it.

 

“God damnit!” She cried leaning her head against the door. Tears welled up and fell, luckily Sango had thought about this and used waterproof eye makeup. She brought her fist up and pounded on the door once as she continued to cry. She heard the door open behind her and stood up.

 

“Kagome?” A soft voice called.

 

“Inuyasha…” She sniffed trying to conceal that she had been crying. She turned around gently wiping her eyes. “… What are you doing here? Don't you know it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding?” She chuckled sadly. Four steps and he was in front of her.

 

“Kagome…” He wrapped his arms around her. “Why are you crying?” He asked pulling back a little and stroking her cheek.

 

“I just…I feel like… Why do you want to marry me?” She looked up and locked eyes with him as a tear slipped.

 

“Kagome, if you don't know by now how much I love you, then I fail as a fiancé.” He whispered.

 

“I know you do, but…why?” He took a long pause before sitting down with her on a loveseat. He opened his mouth and looked at her, but closed it and looked away. “You can't think of anything can you?” She whispered. He looked up at her alarmed.

 

“No…its just, I don't know where to start…” He paused again smiling and fingering his lips. “I love the way you talk or sing, your voice sounds like an angel to me. Your smile is so beautiful it lights me up whenever I see it, and when you lose it I pray it won't be lost.” He brushed a tear from her eye. “I love it when you cry and I can wipe away all the tears and sadness. I love it when your eyes sparkle, especially over me or Kin.” He tapped her nose lightly. “I love how your nose curls a little when you laugh.” He moved his hand down and settled it between her breasts. “I love to feel and hear your heart beat, especially after we've made love. It so wild and fast and I know I did that and it makes me happy.” He moved his hand to her cheek as he nuzzled the side of her neck. “But most of all…” He whispered nipping her ear. “I love the way you love, in both senses, physically and emotionally. You do it with all your heart.” He finished softly kissing her neck and pulling away to look her in the eye. “Do you need any more reasons?” Kagome chuckled sniffing as she shook her head. “Come on.” He pulled her up. “Let's go get married.”

 

“Okay.”
