Inu Yasha sat in the living room as he watched the sun begin to go down. Miroku sat on the couch in a silent prayer.

Sango, Shippou and Kagome all came down into the living room a while later. Kagome was dressed in torn, draping satin skirts that flawed down her legs. Her period of heat was masked by a heavy scent of roses that they had dug out of the drawer of her dresser. Her hair was tied up in messy pigtails and she had on a corset that was tied tightly, and her ears were hid by the pigtails around them.

Shippou's ears were hid by a bandanna around them and he had on some baggy bondage jeans and a black wife beater.

Sango had on some low slung bondage high waters and a red wife beater on and her hair was braided back. Both Kagome and Sango carried duffels and some bags that looked like they held weapons.

Inu Yasha scratched at his skin as he felt the demon blood that ran through him heat up as the last suns rays fell below the horizon.

Miroku got up and grabbed his and Inu Yasha's things. "Just give him a minute and then we will go," he said to the girls.

Inu Yasha growled as his senses dulled and a wave of pain went through his body which cased him to double over and hold onto his sides.

The girl ignored him and hit the few pressure points in his back that her mother had done to her as a child when she had gone through her change so many years ago.

Inu Yash growled. "Don't touch me it hurts!" he said as his hair darkened and his ears turned into human ears.

The girl ignored him and hit the few pressure points in his back that her mother had done to her as a child when she had gone through her change so many years ago.

He sat up as his eyes flashed golden one last time before the turned a deep dark brown. He sat there panting for a minute "Ok, it's done, let's go," he said as he stood up.

Miroku tossed him his bag and his sword. "Well, lets be on our way then," Miroku said as he headed for the door.

Kagome rolled her eyes over at Sango and the girl returned the look. Shippou hopped up onto Kagome's shoulder and rode there as they headed out past the fence and into the woods.

Inu Yasha walked silently behind the rest as he tried to keep an eye out as best he could. Miroku double checked his jean pockets to make sure he had his scrolls with him as he asked "So where are we going?"

"A club, to go dancing," Kagome smiled.

Miroku raised a brow. "Your kidding right? I thought we were out to stop the war not go partying."

Sango laughed. "If you shut your mouth, I won't smack you when you grab my ass."

Inu Yasha rolled his eyes and followed. Miroku shook his head. "I never will figure out females. I give up." he said as he threw his hands up in the air.

Kagome smirked. "Gotta have some fun before you work."

"You mean your dragging me out on my human night and risking my neck just so you can go and party?!" Inu Yasha yelled as he stopped in his tracks.

The girl grabbed his hand and smiled at him. "Don't worry. No one is going to attack a bunch of humans." She grinned widely and nuzzled his neck. "And if they do...I'll protect you..."

He scowled and pulled away from her. "I can protect myself," Inu Yasha said as he began marching away from the group.

Kagome tossed something towards him, chanted something under her breath as it settled around his neck then called out, "Sit boy!"

Inu Yasha hit the ground with a loud thud.

Miroku stood there, wide eyed. "What on earth was that?"

Kagome smirked. "Rosary."

Inu Yasha raised his head and cursed. "God damn it, that's it. I don't care if the war destroys the world. I am not working with her!"

Kagome closed her eyes. "Sit boy."

Inu Yasha was pressed against the ground harder as he let out a scream of pain.

"Kagome, please stop. You're hurting him!" Miroku said as he watched his friend.

Kagome walked over to him and knelt down, massaging some pressure points gently. "I'm sorry. I keep forgetting tonight you're human," she said gently.

Inu Yasha slung his hand back and hit her hands away. "Don't touch me," he ordered as he slowly got up and glared at her with dark eyes. "Let's get this over with. Take us to where ever you're gonna take us I prefer to get out of sight instead of arguing with you out in the open."

Kagome looked at him slowly. She reached out and took the rosary off. "The place is called 'Rose Lips'" she said softly. The girl turned and walked off of the path and into the woods, where no one who didn't have demon senses could follow.

Inu Yasha growled. "Forget this, I am not keeping tabs on a spoiled brat!" he yelled at her back as he headed down the path he knew would lead to town. "I will do this on my own."

Miroku ran a hand down his face "Can I tie them both up?" he asked Sango.

Sango reached up and smacked Inu Yasha over the head, scowling.

"Back off, Sango." he said as he kept walking. "If you want to put up with you go right ahead I don't have too."

"She wants your approval, Inu Yasha," Sango snapped. "She's dying for it, and you're doing everything to deny it. You keep seeing her as either everything as an equal to a failure of Kikyou or just like the traitor Kikyou was to your heart. Kagome is Kagome. You don't even know her yet damn it!"

He spun around and glared at Sango. "She wanted to come out and fight this war; I came along. I came out here to fix things; not to god damn party!"

Sango slapped him square in the face. "She's a teenage hanyou. You, better than anyone, should know how that is!"

Inu Yasha's eyes lit up with anger. "I know, that's why I tried to keep her out of this mess! You want to pass me off as an uncaring bastard you go right ahead, I don't care! I was just looking out for her!"

Something caught Sango's eye and she groaned. She pushed past Inu Yasha and kept walking. "Whatever Inu Yasha, I just hope we see her tomorrow morning."

"I am not going to have another death hanging on my soul, Sango. I was hoping it wasn't her, but all along I knew she was the other key," he said as him and Miroku walked towards town.

His friend shook his head "I know you want to protect her, Inu but your going about it the wrong way."

Suddenly Sango dropped her duffle and threw open her bag off her weapons, yanking open some nastier looking ones. Kirara transformed and Sango climbed on. She glared back at the men. "Kouga and his posse are heading toward where Kagome ran. It looks like they found out she's in heat. I'm going to check it out. You guys stayin' here and guarding the bags?"

Miroku grabbed up the bags. "I'm going with you."

Inu Yasha began running towards where he last saw Kagome. "I knew this was going to happen," he muttered as he ran as fast as he could.

Miroku leapt up and jumped onto Kirara. "Sango follow him if we don't stop him, he is going to get killed."

Sango nodded and nudged Kirara in Inu Yasha's direction.

Kagome looked up from the bloody skin of Shippou's knee. He sniffled as she bent her head and pressed her lips against it. She smiled and cups her hands to poor cool spring water over it.

They had stopped to make his knee feel better after he had tripped over a branch and skinned it back a little ways in the forest. Kagome smiled and stood up as Shippou laughed and dashed off to go play in the water for a while. She smiled and looked out at the sparkling pond.

Suddenly the image was shattered when she caught the scent of Kouga and his friends. She whipped around and saw Kouga advancing on her, smiling wickedly.

"Hello, Kagome," he said darkly.

Kagome stared at him, terrified, as she backed into a wall of stone. Her eyes flickered between one of his friends to another.

The scent of her heat must have worn through the perfume and alerted Kouga, by the look in his eye.

Shippou cried out as one of the demons snatched him up.

Kagome screamed in terror and reached out, but Kouga grabbed her roughly and slammed her back into the stone wall.

Inu Yasha barely heard the scream of what he suspected as Shippou as he ran blindly through the forest getting cut up by branches and briars. "Kagome!" he yelled. "Where are you?!"

Kagome yelped in pain as Kouga forced her body against the rock. She screamed as loud as she could again as he dug his teeth into her fleshy neck, tearing away, the skin. Summoning all her strength, she flung some ki at the closest lackey, sending him into a tree. The trunk sent a deafening crack throughout the woods.

"Kirara please go faster?" Miroku urged her on. "Or we are going to lose both our friends!" he said worried.

Inu Yasha heard Kagome's scream as he pushed out into the opening to where she was. "Let her go you flea bag!" he ordered.

Kouga looked up at him with Kagome's blood spread across his mouth like he'd been feasting on barbeque. He smiled wickedly like a devil and thrust his hips forward and ducked his head down again, both actions causing Kagome to throw her head back and scream in agony. Blood gushed over her neck and for a moment eye caught Inu Yasha's, pleading for help. Kirara pounded into the clearing at that moment and Shippou got free.

Miroku jumped from Kirara and pulled out his sutras as Inu Yasha rushed Kouga "I said let her go!" he yelled and tackled Kouga to the ground.

Before the others had gotten there Kagome had used up most of her strength taking out the members Kouga had brought with him with her Relic powers, but couldn't get Kouga off of her so she could get enough distance between them to use them.

"Inu Yasha move!" Miroku yelled.

Inu Yasha was angry beyond all reality as he pounded on Kouga's face. "You filthy rotten bastard! I'm going to kill you!" He yelled as he wrapped his hands around Kouga's throat and squeezed with all his human strength. "I won't let this happen again!"

Kagome looked up from where she had sunk to the ground to see what was going on. She grunted and picked her self up, steadied herself and threw herself at Inu Yasha, knocking him off of Kouga so Miroku could get at him. The last of her strength used up, she went limp against him, her blood slick against his clothes.

Miroku took this as his chance and threw his scrolls onto Kouga and began chanting.

Inu looked at Kagome. "Kagome, wake up," he said as he shook her gently. His eyes hardened as he saw all the blood and then pulled his eyes over to Kouga. "Your dead, you son of a bitch," he said as he stood up and unsheathed his sword.

Shippou looked over and saw Kagome on the ground and screamed, rushed over to her, cradling her head.

Sango stood behind Miroku, checking the woods carefully to make sure nothing else hid there.

Shippou desperately tried to stop the bleeding at her neck and sobbed into her hair. "Come on, Mommy, I can make it better, It's my turn, just like you did to my knee!" he cried.

"Shippou, don't cry," Miroku said as he walked over to him. "She will be fine."

Inu Yasha charged Kouga while he was preoccupied with the scrolls." Die and go to hell!" he yelled.

Kouga looked up at the boy running towards him and smirked. "No, I think you will." Kouga pulled a small dagger from his yukata and threw it hitting Inu Yasha in the chest.

The raven haired boy dropped his sword as he felt the warmth of his blood running down his chest. Inu Yasha dropped to his knees as he stared at Kouga "I...wont....die ..."he coughed out.

Kouga laughed. "Your human; give up and die."

A sudden pink burst of ki exploded and engulfed Kouga in a burst of light out of nowhere, catching the youkai off guard. When they looked back, Kagome was propped up on one elbow with a palm outstretched towards them.

Kouga flew back into the water behind him and disappeared with a big splash.

Miroku rushed over to the fallen Inu Yasha. "Hey buddy, looks like you got it good this time huh?"

Inu coughed as he gasped for air and looked into his friends worried eyes. "This is nothing..." he said.

Kagome stood up slowly and staggered over to him, sitting down none too gracefully. She smiled weakly at Shippou. "Hey, honey..." Shippou sniffed.

"Mommy, you gotta lay down, you're hurt badly." Kagome smiled slightly.

"I'll be fine, but first I have to help Inu Yasha. Now go get me my bag." The little demon rushed off to do her bidding.

Kagome leaned over and tugged off his over yukata and bunched it up to use it as a pillow as she eased him into a laying position.

Inu Yasha grunted. "I will be fine I just have to wait till sun rise." he muttered as his eyes began to close. "I just have to wait..."

Kagome lifted her wrist to her mouth and gruesomely ripped it open with her fangs. She lowered it to his mouth and pressed the incision to his lips. "Drink it," she said hoarsely.

Inu Yasha shook his head. "I don't want to."

The girl bared her fangs. "It'll lend you some of my strength until the dawn. It's a long wait until then. Just drink it."

"I can't drink ...it." he said weakly.

Miroku looked at Kagome. "If he drinks it, from what I understand, it means you are to become mates," he stated.

She sighed a bit irritably. "That's only if I drink his too. That's why Kouga and I aren't mates."

Inu Yasha reached up to the dagger in his chest and ripped it out "If I die it's because of my own stupidity."

Miroku scowled. "You are not going to die so shut up!" he snapped.

Kagome snarled darkly. "If you don't drink some of this right now I'm going to cut your nuts off, and don't think I wont." she said, her eyes flashing, her claws in position.

Inu Yasha reached for her wrist. "Even when I'm dying your mean to me." he muttered.

Kagome smiled slightly and held her wrist towards his lips and shook her head slightly, urging him on.

Inu Yasha drank the blood from her wrist and laid back, closing his eyes feeling the power of her blood run through him. His wounds began to close slowly as the bleeding stopped. "Thank you," he said as he opened his now silver eyes and looked at Kagome.

Kagome nodded slightly as she felt her even weaker body drain itself. Shippou came up to her and she pulled out the appropriate bandages and she wrapped them around his chest, cleansing the wound and tying it tight.

After she had fixed up Inu Yasha she reached up to begin to clean herself up but after getting most of the blood off of her should she felt the strength leave her and she laid down on Inu Yasha, her head on his stomach.

"Just for a few moments," she murmured.

Inu Yasha closed his eyes and fell fast asleep.

But unknown to them someone with amber eyes was watching them from a tree a few yards away with a look of disgust on his face. "Inu Yasha don't fuck this up this time or all the races demon and human will be destroyed," he said to himself as the wind blew his silver hair all around him.
