Chapter 9: A Weekend Getaway
When they got in the car, Ayame told Kagome of their plans for the weekend and as she guessed,
they were going to drag her along with them. Everyone already knew of Ayame's plans for the
weekend, except Kagome. She was always kept in the dark about any sort of plans that the gang
had, until the last minute, when she was usually getting pulled into it. The girls went to
Kagome's house, packed some things they thought she'd need, and went to Ayame's house so they
could wait for the guys.
Kagome was terrorfied, she didn't really get a reaction other than shock from Inuyasha when
he saw who she was. Was he mad at her? She was the cause of Inuyasha and Kikyo's break up
after all. Koga drove to Koga drove to Ayame's house, Miroku sat in the passenger seat, while Inuyasha
and Sesshoumaru sat in the back.
Inuyasha thought about the concerning twist of events that led to Kagome's unveiling. He was
relieved that she was the same person as the girl he'd met at the party, but worried at the
same time. If she was this beautiful, why did she hide her face to begin with.
Ayame's plan for the weekend was actually just what the doctor ordered. The beach was just a
few hours away, so Ayame thought it would be a good idea to rent a beach house and stay 'til
Sunday, driving back around 7:00, so they wouldn't be too tired on Monday.
Everyone packed everything they needed and was off to the beach in Ayame's SUV.Sesshoumaru
got stuck driving , since he was the oldest . Sango made Miroku sit in the passenger side,
everyone knew why of course. Ayame and Sango sat in the middle seat, Rin and Kagome sat in the
last, and Koga and Inuyasha sat in the extra seat that you could put in.
Kagome was worried about what she was going to say to Inuyasha. She still didn't think it was
the right time to tell him, he did just find out about her being that girl from the party
after all. Plus, she just couldn't tell him, even if she wanted to, and she wouldn't.

They'd arrived about an hour ago, everyone had gotten situated and decided who they'd share
their rooms with.
Kagome sat on the beach, the glistening water under the pale room kept her calm, despite how
nervous she was about seeing Inuyasha. As if he knew what she was thinking, Inuyasha came and
sat down next to her.
"Beautiful night." He commented, making small talk.
"Mm Hm." She agreed.
Silence took over for a few moments. Kagome's inner thoughts was really starting to get to her
though, so she spoke up.
"I'm sorry I caused you and Kikyo to break up."
"Don't be. Our relationship has been on the rocks for about a year now. I was planning to
break up with her anyway, so..." He trailed off, not sure what else to say.
Silence reigned once more.
"You know, when I found out about you being the same girl at the party, I was relieved. When
I first saw you at that party, I was really attracted to you, but I figured I just infatuated
with you. When I saw you the second time, I didn't realize how much I'd missed just seeing
you, but then I felt bad because I knew that I cared about Kagome the loner, who never
revealed herself." He said, turning to Kagome.
Tears began to trail down her face.
"When you were finally revealed to me, I realized just how in love with you I was, no matter
if you're Kagome the vixen or Kagome the loner, you're my Kagome." He said, taking hold of her
face between his hands.
The tears that streamed down her face ran into Inuyasha's thumb. Inuyasha smiled and wiped the
away. The moonlight illuminated Kagome's face, making the tears streaming down her face
sparkle and her hair shimmer. Inuyasha brought his lips to hers and kissed her, not as Kagome
the vixen or Kagome the loner, but just as Kagome, his Kagome.
That night, under the stars, they fell asleep in each other's arms on the beach.
