The alarm clock sounded and pulled Kagome from her dream land…

She walked towards the window…

 

“It's another day…”

 

The school term was ending soon… In about a week…She would be returning to Tokyo…

 

All the bad memories were there…

 

And yet those memories were the ones that she could never forget…

 

“Kagome!! Are you ready? You're going to be late if you don't hurry!”

 

Kagome sighed…

 

Am I really ready to go back and face all those memories?

 

She was happy that Inuyasha actually came to find her…

 

Yet she wasn't sure…

 

Had he come for the jewel or…For her?

 

Kagome fingered the jewel on her neck… It was warm… as always…

“Higurashi! How are you?”

 

Nazuki, one of the seniors in Kagome's school greeted her.

 

“Nazuki-Kun! I'm fine today! How are you?”

 

“Kagome-Chan!”

 

“Keito-Chan! Ohiyo!”

 

“Did you prepare for today's test? Oh? Nazuki-kun? Are you here to ask Kagome-Chan out on a date?!”

 

“Ah-ah… Haha!”

 

“Keito-Chan…”

 

Kagome sighed…This was the kind of school life that she was always wishing for… Yet a year ago she was fighting Youkai and collecting shards of the Shikon no tama in the Sengoku Jidai…

 

“Higurashi… Are you free this holiday?”

 

“So sorry, Nazuki-Kun… But I have to go back to Tokyo this holiday…”

 

Nazuki-Kun was the total photocopy of Hojo, Yes, he had a crush on Kagome and went to all extents of asking her out…

Keito was always trying to put the both of them together…But Kagome had no interest in guys…especially when her heart was no where in Hokkaido… It was far off 500 years ago in Sengoku Jidai…and it was already given to a particular Sliver haired Hanyou…

 

Kagome shook her head…

 

No! This wasn't a time to be thinking about him! I haven't memorized the formulas for today's math test!

 

“When will you be back then? I'm sure that you won't be gone for the whole winter, right?”

 

“Eh… I'll be there around… A few days…”

 

She wasn't planning on staying long… That Hanyou is sure to sniff her out if she stayed a little longer… And it wasn't the time to meet him yet… She had no confidence of even talking to him…

 

“Then you should be back for the winter festival in school, right?”

 

“Eh…Yup…”

 

Winter festival… It was the exact date that she decided to leave Sengoku Jidai…and return to the present…It had been a year…So quick…

 

And in her heart…she was still missing him…

 

“Inuyasha…”

 

“Huh? Did you say something Kagome-Chan?”

 

“Ah-ah?! No…Anyway what's today's history chapter on…”

 

Their voice drifted off into the early morning chatter as students hustled into the school gates…

“So, today's history will be a holiday project… You have to read over it during the holidays, and there will be a test when school reopens again… Is it clear?”

 

“Yes…” The class answered in boredom…

 

“So, I will start off to give a little tips…Turn to page 128 and this topic is the Sengoku Jidai.”

 

Kagome's attention turned towards the teacher.

 

Sengoku Jidai.

 

“Sengoku Jidai is during the 1500s where warlords and samurai ruled the battlefields…”

 

Her teacher's voice trailed off…

 

“Higurashi? Are you listening? Pay attention… This is a new topic and you know nothing about it… the test is difficult!”

 

“Ah-ah…Yes…”

 

Anything about Sengoku Jidai was easy for her… she had been there herself!

 

She fixed her eyes on the teacher as he trailed off in a chatter of famous warlords…

 

She hadn't been listening anything about it… until the teacher came to the last sentence.

 

“Class, Pair up and do a report on Fairy tales of Sengoku Jidai. No doubles, everyone has to come up with an original report of one. Class dismissed.”

 

Fairy Tales?! This is madness! How would she ever find-

 

“Kagome-Chan? Can we pair up?”

 

“Sure…It's after school now… would you want to make a trip to the library?”

“This is madness… We can't find anything about fairytales here! Look! Its those two again, Kagome-Chan!”

 

Kagome glanced at the two figures walking towards them…

 

It was Makiko and her partner, Saiko…

They detested Kagome because School hunk, Nazuki paid lots of attention to her…and yet she had rejected him over and over again…

 

They aimed to beat Kagome in everything and didn't mind using underhanded methods…

 

“Higurashi! And… friend! Looks like all the books about fairytales have been borrowed!”

 

Apparently the two girls were holding on to all the reference books about Sengoku Jidai…

 

“Hey! What's the point of taking all the reference books?! What about us?”

 

“That's too bad isn't it? First come first serve!”

 

Smirking, both girls left and sat down near a table piled with reference books.

 

“How can they!? Now what, Kagome?”

 

Kagome sighed…she really disliked them and their underhand methods…

 

“Hey! Higurashi! You can have this book! It seems uninteresting!”

 

Makiko threw an old and beat up book towards her.

 

She caught it instantly and looked at its title…

 

“Sengoku Jidai: All you need to know”

 

“This isn't about whatever fairytales! It's just a guidebook or whatever!!”

 

“It's Ok, Keito we could just check it out…”

 

Kagome flipped its pages… It was old and dusty… It was totally boring…

 

Until she came onto a chapter…

 

 

“Myths of the Sengoku Jidai”

 

“Shikon no tama”

 

Just at the moment, she felt the pulse of the Shikon no tama…

 

She put her hand over it… It was warm… Was it telling her something?
