InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ You meen the world to me ❯ Disturbing dream ( Chapter 6 )
"Inuyasha." Kagome whispered after he finally broke away from their kiss.
"Hai?" He whispered huskily in her ear.
"You did mean what you said didn't you?" She said looking him deeply in his brilliant gold eyes. "That you love me?"
"I do."
"What about Kikyou?"
"What about Kikyou?" Inuyasha looked a little uncomfortable and he lifted himself off of Kagome and sat cross-legged on the floor in front of her.
"Do you still love her?" Kagome sat up and looked Inuyasha in the face trying to meet his eyes.
"I dunno…probably… maybe not." He sighed "I don't know Kagome. I guess something inside of me will always love Kikyou." Kagome looked down at her hands.
"I'm not Kikyou." Kagome whispered.
"I know your not." Inuyasha said calmly.
"Well sometimes I don't think you know." Kagome stood up and walked upstairs to her room.
"Why did that come up?" Inuyasha still sat on the floor. "Do I still love Kikyou?" he leaned up against the wall and stared up at the ceiling. "I know I have to set her free. She can't wander around the Sengoku Jidai forever." Inuyasha closed his eyes and sighed. "She can't steal any more souls. Also what we had wasn't really special. She was the first person who didn't try and kill me right away. But she never showed me the kindness that Kagome had. Kikyou…I promise I'll set you free so that both of us can move on." Inuyasha fell asleep with his thoughts still ringing in his head.
"Why did I ask that question?" Kagome was sitting at her desk staring off into space. "That was stupid of me. Inuyasha said that he loved me. I should be happy. I just don't want him to betray me." Kagome sighed. "The only other guy who said he loved me was my father and he betrayed me. He hurt momma and he never ever took the time to pay attention to Sota." Kagome slid into an uneasy sleep.

Kagome's dream. (Kind of corny I know but oh well.)

"Momma, when's daddy coming home?"
"That voice. I know that voice." Kagome thought and she opened her eyes to find herself in the kitchen. "How did I get here? Why does it look so different?"
"Momma?" a little girl's voice asked again. Kagome walked out of the kitchen and onto the front porch where a child version of her was sitting on a swing next to her mother.
"He couldn't make it today." Mrs. Higurashi said in a sad voice.
"How come daddy doesn't come by as much? I know he works for people across seas but he used to visit more often." Child Kagome whined.
"You're father is a busy man Kagome, you can wait here if you want I have to feed Sota." Child Kagome watched as her mother walked back into the house. "Daddy." She said before jumping down off the swing and running down the stairs laughing happily. Kagome fallowed her child self down the stairs of the shrine and onto the side walk. "I remember going this way as a child. Stop!" Kagome tried to shout at herself but her child self couldn't hear her. Child Kagome turned the corner and stopped and jumped behind a bush. A tall man was walking down the street with a woman hugging his arm. "Daddy?" child Kagome whispered in shock. The man leaned over and kissed the woman on the lips and whispered loud enough for Kagome to hear. "I'll see you later, I love you."
"What about your wife?" The woman said looking Kagome's father in the eyes. "It doesn't matter." He waved as the woman drove away in her car.
Kagome slowly walked out of the bushes and stood behind her father.
"Daddy?" The man jumped and stared at his daughter.
"Kagome? What are you doing here?" he asked nervously.
"Why did you kiss that lady and say you loved her?" child Kagome looked at her father tears running down her cheeks "Don't you love momma?"
"Kagome how about we keep this our little secret?" The man bent down and put his hands on child Kagome's shoulders. Child Kagome jerked herself free and stood shaking her head looking at him with pain and disgust. "I was nine then. I knew what daddy was doing was wrong."
"Kagome please." Her father said in a tone of desperation. Kagome let tears run down her face as she watched her child self scream. "I hate you daddy! You betrayed momma, Sota, and I. I HATE YOU!"
"I didn't mean it!" Kagome screamed trying to fix what she had said long ago. Child Kagome tore down the street running blindly through the park.
"Kagome!" Her father yelled chasing after her. Kagome walked down the same path that her younger self had taken not long before, she spied the bush that she had hid under and kneeled down and crawled into the small space with her younger self. "I wish I could comfort myself." Kagome thought sadly as she watched the nine year old cry.
"Mr. Higurashi." A deep voice said acidulously. "You never paid your debts, Mr. Higurashi. You stole from us and we don't like thieves. Do you know what we do to thieves?" Child Kagome and Kagome peeked under the bush to see Mr. Higurashi surrounded by a gang of somewhat older men. A few had metal baseball bats, another an ax and the one who was speaking had a pair of machetes in his hands. "Time's up pencils down Mr. Higurashi." The man smiled wickedly "We slowly painfully kill those who betray us and our boss. You my friend stole from us fifty grand and know its time to settle the score."
The men attacked and child Kagome closed her eyes. She heard the sound of metal hitting flesh bones cracking and the painful screams of her father as he was beaten nearly to death. A siren sounded in the distance and the wail became louder. "Shit. Here come the cops. Lets move it boys, he won't live much longer any ways. Come on you basterds we can't afford to be put in the slammer so move your asses." The men ran off leaving Mr. Higurashi lying in a puddle of blood. Child Kagome ran out from the bush and kneeled before her father. "Daddy?" She cried.
"I'm sorry… I betrayed our family, Kagome." The man gasped "I don't know what I was… thinking."
"Please daddy don't talk." His daughter begged.
"Tell your mother I'm sorry for messing up." The man shuttered and breathed in shallowly "I'll always love… you Kagome… be a good girl…for daddy's sake." The mans eyes closed and blood seeped out of his mouth.
Kagome closed her eyes and turned away from her own cries.
"Daddy! Daddy no. Please daddy wake up! This is all my fault. No daddy you can't die. I don't want you to die. Please don't leave me alone. DADDY!"

End Kagome's dream/ memory whatever you wanna call it.

Kagome was shaken awake by a pair of strong but firm hands. "What?" She said sitting up in her chair.
"Kagome are you alright?" Inuyasha looked at her his eyes full of worry.
"Hai I'm OK Inuyasha, I just had a nightmare that's all." Kagome sighed. Inuyasha gently wiped away the tears from Kagome's cheeks.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"No not really. I'm sorry I asked you about you know… Kikyou. I was out of place when I asked you something like that." Kagome looked away from Inuyasha.
"No you weren't Kagome." Inuyasha wrapped his arms around Kagome. "Now I want you to get a good nights rest. You haven't exactly had the best week ever."
Kagome nodded and crawled into bed wearing a large T-shirt. She didn't mind that Inuyasha joined her, in a way it comforted her to know that Inuyasha was there.
"Good night." She whispered sleepily. Inuyasha put an arm around her waist and pulled her up close to himself.
"Sleep well. I love you." He whispered back and nuzzled his face into the back of her neck. "My Kagome." He fell asleep smelling her sweet sent.

All right I know this chapter was shorter then the last. Also before you all start throwing rotting vegetables and pies and stuff at me for not making this chapter a lemon will all become clear in a few chapters. I know most of you were hoping that Inuyasha and Kagome would have mated together but don't worry everything will turn out as it should. Please review if you can. I should have the next chapter up by tomorrow. I had to take a little time off because there is this huge fire close to my town and it's only a few miles away from one of my best friend's houses. I hope everything will be ok. But enough of my rambling. I'll put up the next chapter tomorrow and expect some action! (Not that kind of action you hentais! Oh you weren't thinking of that? Oops. Well there might be some between Sango and Miroku but it all depends.) Bye!
