Chapter 4: Comming to Conclusions
“What do you mean I won’t be lucky if he doesn’t give you the sword? huh?” Sesshomaru reached his palace and
set her down as they entered the door. “Are you ever going to answer me?” She asked again.
silence
Kagome sighed in irritation as he just walked away from her. “Kagome-neesan! Where di you go? Rin was so worried
when she couldn’t find you or Sesshomaru-sama. Rin thought you weren’t gonna come back.” Rin latched onto
Kagome as tears streaked down her cheeks. Sesshomaru stopped deadin his tracks and turned around only to see
Kagome sit down and pull Rin onto her lap, wrapping her arms around her.
‘Damnit’ he inwardly cursed. ‘I knew Rin would get attatched to her.’ “Can Rin ask you a favor?” “Anything Rin.”
Kagome said. He wentto walk away again but paled when he heard the words that came from Rin’s mouth. “Will you
be my new mommy?” she asked. Kagome paled too, held her breath and looked up to Sesshomaru with wide eyes
pleading for help. “It’s just, Rin never knew her mommy very well and she always wanted a new one.” Kagome pulled
the girl for another hug aand Sesshomaru unconsciencely walked towards the two of them.
“Sesshomaru,” Kagome started. She noticed what he was staring at and looked down to see Rin asleep with a death
grip on her. Kagome got the girl into her eyes more comfortably before Sesshomaru helped her off and walked her to
her room since Rin hadn’t gotten a chance to show it to her that day. Realizeing that the girl wouldn’t come off,
Kagome slipped into her bed, not caring to change clothes, and fell asleep with Rin lying peacfully in her arms.
‘Great, I can’t kill her now.’ He thought. Sesshomaru walked into his study deciding he needed to clear his mind for a
while.

Inu Yasha had been sitting in the goshinboku since Sesshomaru’s arrival about 3 hours ago. ‘What am I supposed to
do?’ he asked himself over and over again in his mind. ‘I can’t just give Kagome to him kill, but what am I proving by
giving up my sword, that she makes me weak? Besides, I don’t love her or anything. I love Kikyo and if Kikyo found
out she would think that I went back on my promise. I swore myself to Kikyo and I’ll do it again, but I can’t let
another person die for me. I have to go him the Tetsusaiga.’ Inu Yasha had made up his mind, that is, until a white
snake-like demon came into view and his nose caught the scent of earth and bones.
“Kikyo,” he said, letting his instincts guide him to the source of the smell.
He found her sitting up in a tree with her soul collecters circling around her, sending souls into her body. “Inu Yasha,
why did you come here?” she asked floating down from the tree. Inu Yasha approached her slowely before staring
into her eyes. Kikyo stared back, seemingly getting lost in his golden depths. “Kikyo,” he said pulling her into an
embrace. “I don’t want to let you go.” he said. “So you’ve chosen Inu Yasha?” she asked.
“Chosen what?”
“Whether you’d rather be with me, or my reincarnation.” she said. He looked down, biting his lower lip before looking
back at her and noddinghis head slowely.

Kagome had awoken the next morning when Satsuka came in and placed a training outfit on one chair, with her
kimono in another. She came up to Kagome’s bed and smiled at her. “Sesshomaru-sama awaits you in the training
room. Satsuka bowed before taking leave, letting Kagome carefully get up without waking Rin and change into her
training outfit.
Kagome was shocked when she saw it. It looked like Sango’s exterminating outfit except it was dark blue where
Sango’s was pink and silver where Sango’s was black. She carefully put it on after removing her kimono from
yesterday and braided her hair. After she was sure it was tight, she pulled on the hair tie, and flung the braid over her
shoulder. She stood before the mirror in total awe. ‘I look good.’ she thought.
Kagome left the room and walked down the hall. She finally found her way to dojo andstepped inside. “Sorry, I got
lost.” She was a little nervous about him training her with a sword but decided to let it go for now, afterall, she is in
his protection until tomorrow. ‘Special me, I get two days of training.’ she mentally laughed at how stupid that
sounded but realized he only wanted to see how strong she was.
“Here,” he said handing her a bow and arrow. “I’ve made a mark on this tree, and I want you to hit the midde of it
with all your strength from right here.” He said opening the shoji door and pointing to a tree about 70 ft. off. Kagome
just smiled. ‘If he wants to see I got, I’ll show him.’ She thought as she knoched her arrow and pulled the string back
to her cheek. Kagome concentrated all her energy into the arrow and let it fly.
Sesshomaru watched in awe as the arrow flew through the tree and a few others behind it until it finally blew up the
last tree in it’s path, the rest had melted away from the arrow’s pure miko aura.
“Oh, i’m so sorry!” She ran outside and watched as he stared wide-eyed at the trees. “Well, can you channel your
powers?” he finally asked. “What do you mean? I mean I can use them through an arrow.” she said. “Can you
channel them through your hands, Kagome?” ‘God, now I’m calling her by her name.’ he thought. “Well, no I can’t.”
Sesshomaru sighed out loud for the first time. but it wasn’t intentional.
“Can you teach me?” she finally asked. He nodded. “Kagome, hold out your hands, and face your palms out away
from you. Now, concentrate all your energy to your hands.” Kagome did as she was told and watched as her hands
took on a pink glow. “Good.” he said stepping out of the way. “Now, let it out.” He watched as power emitted from
her hands, melting one of the bars on the metal gate. “We’ll have to fix that.” he said, more to himself. “Not even
Kikyo can do that.” she finally said. “Not many human mikos can channel their anergy through anything more then
weapons..”he answered. “You just happen to be lucky.”
“But why are you helping me become stronger?” she asked. Sesshomaru for once, didn’t know the answer to the
question directed his way. He just looked at her and shrugged before turrning his back to her and walking away.
“Arigato, Sesshou-kun.” ‘WHAT THE HELL?’ he asked himself.
“Don’t call me that, and you’re welcome.” Kagome was wondering what he would do if she called him that for a while
and his tone was pretty funny but she managed to hold back the laughter.

“So, I was your choice?” Kikyo asked as she wrapped her arms around him, leaning into his chest. “Hai, Kikyo, I was
thinking and I came to a conclusion. I love you, and I gave myself to you long ago. I would do it again too. But you
have to listen to me, I have to kill Naraku before anything drastic happens. But until then, I’d like you to know that
you are welcome in the group, that is if you’d like to be.
Kikyo smiled and nodded her head. “I would be most pleased Inu Yasha.” ‘Gog, what’ve I done? Sango and Miroku
aren’t gonna like this, not to mention Shippo. He still doesn’t know about the whole ordeal, he was sleeping afterall
but he hates Kikyo. They’ll just have to understand.’ Inu Yasha knew that they wouldn’t but hoped that they would
at least be okay about it since they are his friends too, not just Kagome’s.
Inu Yasha slowely led Kikyo back to camp, secretly dreading tomorrow.
“Inu Yasha, what is Kikyo doing here?” Sango purposly acted calm though she was on the verge of wripping Inu
Yasha limb from limb and feeding his guts to his whore.
“I said she could come with us.” Inu Yasha said. “When were you thinking of asking Inu Yasha, and what about
Kagome?” “What about my reincarnation?” Kikyo snapped causing Sango to turn around and walk off so she
wouldn’t kill her right then and there.
“Sango, I’ve come to a conclusion and made a decision.” Inu Yasha motioned for Kikyo to stay and took off after
Sango who stepped dead in her tracks, fearing for the worst.
