Chapter 5: Shattered plans

Kagome went inside for breakfast. Rin was already there and almost done. “Good morning Kagome-neesan!” The

little girl yelled when Kagome cam in and sat down across from her. “Good morning Rin-chan.” she said. Just then,

Sesshomaru walked in and sat a chair away from Kagome. “Sesshomaru-sama!” Rin got up from her breakfast, which

was now finished and ran over to latch onto the taiyoukai’s leg. Sesshomaru patted her head affectionally before

turning back to his meal.

Kagome was hungry this morning so she ate rather quickly before running to her room, grabbing her kimono and

racing to the hot springs. She carefully removed her training outfit, bra, and panties before stepping into the spring.

Then she slid the rest of the way in and took out her braid. She covered her chest immediately when she heard the

shoji door open, but relaxed again when she only saw Rin, Satsuka, and another servent.

“Good afternoon Kagome-sama.” Satsuka said. “This is Kita, she takes care of Rin’s needs.” She finished. “Oh, hello

Kita-chan, and please, just Kagome.” Kagome smiled before relazing again. “Can Rin join Kagome-neesan?” Rin

walked behind Kagome and tapped her on the shoulder. “Of course Rin-chan, why not?” Rin smiled and undressed

before slipping into the spring and relaxing as well.

“May we join you as well, miss?” Satsuka asked shyly. “Of course!” Kagome smiled. Once Kita and Satsuka were

comfortable they started talking. “Are you two demons?” Kagome asked when she noticed their ears. They were just

like Sesshomaru’s and now that she paid attention, they had claws but they hadn’t smiled so she couldn’t see any

fangs.

“Hai, Satsuka and I are kitsunes.” Kita told her. Kagome’s expression immediately saddened when Shippo came to

mind. “What’s wrong Kagome-sama?” Satsuka walked towards Kagome leaned back against the side next to her. “I

just miss my kitsune pup is all.” Kagome realized how she said that by the looks on her new friends’ faces. “You have

a pup, a kitsune pup?” Kita walked towards her as well. “Is he hanyou?” “But you haven’t mated yet I can smell that

you’re a virgin.” Satsuka added.

“Well, he’s adopted. I don’t know when I started seeing him as a pup, or when he started seeing me as his mother but

his parents are dead. I miss him because him and Sango are probably worried sick as where Inu Yasha is probably

with Kikyo and Miroku’s tryiong to cheer them up.” Satsuka frowned. “You mean Sesshomaru-sama’s half brother,

you were the powerful mko that traveled with him? I saw what you did this morning, but you can sense the Shikon no

Tama?” Kagome nodded turned her head towards Rin, noticing that she was sad. ‘Uh oh, I know what’s wrong.” she

thought. Kagome walked towards Rin and put her arm around her. “It’s okay sweetie.” Rin immediately attatched to

her waist. “So, you’ll be Rin’s mommy?” she asked again.

“Rin, I don’t know how long I’ll be here, or whetheer Sesshomaru-sama would like that or not. But if he says that it’s

okay, I’ll be your mommy, okay Rin?” Rinsmiled and let go of Kagome. “Rin brought Kagome-neesan stuff to wash

her hair with.” Kagome smiled and took a small amount of liquid from Rin and lathered her hair. ‘This stuff smells

wonderful!’ The soap was to smell like vanilla. After Kagome washed hers and Rin’s hair, she slowely got out, dried

off and put back on her undergarmets and kimono, and left the other three girls to themselves.

“Inu Yasha, what do you mean you’ve mad a decision?” Sango asked. “I can’t give up my sword and I’m letting

Kikyo join us. She can sense the shards, and she’s powerful.” Sango stared at the hanyou, a mixture of disbelief,

anger, and hatred written all over her face. “I wish I could sit you Inu Yasha, because if if I could, you’d be melted my

magma by now.” Sango whispered, trying to hold back tears. “You mean that hot stuff Kagome was talking about?”

“Don’t change the subject. Ypu’re gonna let Kikyo come with and take over Kagome’s job, and let your brother kill

Kagome?” Sango’s face was down, her bangs covering her eyes, and her voice was low. “I’m sorry Sango.” Inu

Yasha whispered.

“YOU BAKA INU YASHA I HATE YOU! SHE IS MY BEST FRIEND AND YOU LEAVE HER TO BE KILLED SO

YOUR DEAD GIRLFRIEND CAN HAVE HER SOULD BACK? THAT’S NOT FAIR, IF IT WEREN’T FOR KAGOME

YOU’D STILL BE STUCK TO THAT STUPID TREE THAT YOU’RE SO FOND OF!” Sango turned around and ran

towards where Miroku was with Shippo and Kirara, but not before turning around one last time. “Inu Yasha, I’ll stay

with you, but only because we need you to kill Naraku.” Then, she was gone.

“So, you’re having my reincarnation killed?” Kikyo was behind him now wrapping her arms around his waist. “My

brother kidknapped her and he plans to bring her back tomorrow in order to trade her for Tetsusaiga. If I don’t give

him the sword, he said that she wouldn’t be very lucky, but I can’t give the sword up.” Kikyo just smiled, she would

have her soul back, and she would have Inu Yahsa too, everything would be perfect for her.

“Inu Yasha, everything will be fine.” she said. Inu Yasha turned around and pulled her into his arms.

Sesshomaru was in his study, worrying about his perfect plan that was shattering right before his eyes. First of all,

Kagome was probably right about Kikyo, second, Rin wanted Kagome tio be her mother, and third, for some reason

she was always on his mind. He had no idea why, but everytime he would think about something all he would see in

Kagome running through the garden with Rin. “There’s gotta be something wrong with me.” he finally said.

“Sesshomaru-sama, Kagome-neesan said that Rin has to ask you if she can be her new mommy.” Sesshomaru sighed.

Every minute things would get worse, what was he going to do? “Rin,” he finally said. “Kagome won’t be hear

forever you know, I’m taking her back tomorrow.” Sesshomaru instantly regretted saying that when Rin started

crying.

Sesshomaru rolled his eyes. “rin, she can be your mother, if that is really what you wish.” Rin stopped crying right

away and launched herself onto Sesshomaru. “Arigato Sesshomaru-sama!” He sihed once agin when Rin was gone.

Now he really couldn’t kill the girl. Sesshomaru rubbed his temples before leaving his study. He needed to get out of

there.

Kagome was sitting on her bed thinking about what she told Rin. ‘What if he says yes?’ she thought. ‘ Well why

would he say yes when he’s going to kill me?’ Then Rin ran in and collided with her waist sending Kagome flying

backwards into her bed. “Oka, oka!” Kagome’s eyes widened when she heard this.’Does this mean he won’t kill me? I

wonder....” Kagome threw her arms around Rin and smiled. “Does this mean I get to call you my daughter?” She

joked. “I mean it’s only fair.” Rin smiled bigger and nodded her head.

“Oka-san, who’s Rin’s outo-san?” Kagome paled at the question and just then, Sesshomaru walked in, he heard the

question too and saw Kagome’s expression. “Sesshomaru-sama! Will you be Rin’s outo-san?” Sesshomaru nearly

fainted. ‘Now she wants a father, me?’ Sesshomaru had no idea what to say and Kagome was laughing too hard at

the taiyoukai’s face, he looked like he was going to have a panic attack, then he started stuttering. “Um R-Rin I-I-I

don’t know if t-t-that’s such a good idea.” He finally said.

“Of course it is Kagome-neesan is Rin’s oka-san and Sesshomaru-sama is Rin’s outo-san!” Kagome stopped

laughing when she heard the way that sounded and Rin dashed out of the room. “Great, first I get kidknapped, hen I

get threatened, then I have a daughter with a taiyoukai.” kagome said more to herself, but Sesshomaru heard and sat

down next to her. “No one finds out about this.” he said. “Het this isn’t fair, Rin gets a new mom, and she gets killed

the next day when she gets rejected for a sword. What will you tell her?” Kagome wasn’t joking but Sesshomaru took

it as a joke. “I’ll think of something.” he said. Kagome paled again, he sounded serious. Sesshomaru almost chuckled,

but held it in.

“You know, I never said I’d kill you, I just said you’d be unlucky.” He said. “But I was thinking about killing you

until Rin decided to get attatched.” Kagome huffed and turned her back to him playfully. Sesshomaru turned to look

at her back and moved his face to her hair. “Your hair smells good.” he said Kagome was startled when she heard his

voice right next to ear and felt his breath tickling her neck, but it didn’t bother her. “Thank you.” she said.

“So does that mean you’re not going to kill me?” She asked. “I can’t kill Rin’s mother.” he said. Kagome turned

around and smiled at him. Sesshomaru felt lost just staring into her eyes.

‘Damnit what am I doing?’

‘You are falling in love’

‘who the hell are you?’

‘who the hell do you think? now admit it, you have some feelings for this human.’

‘Get the fuck out of my head’

‘jerk’

“Um, Sesshomaru, are you okay?” Kagome watched as he grew angry. He seemed to be thinking about something

but she didn’t quite know what.

Kagome found herself lost in his eyes, and Sesshomaru in hers. They sat there for 5 minutes before Sesshomaru

reached out and moved Kagome’s hair back, it was starting to fall over her eyes. Kagome felt herself shiver when he

touched her face in the process. Just then Jaken came in. (A/N: who better to ruin the moment?) “Sesshomaru-sama,

what are you doing?” Jaken’s jaw dropped when he walked inon Sesshomaru pushing Kagome’s hair back. Not only

that, but they were close enough to kiss. Jaken wanted to scream, but he refrained, afterall, he wanted to live.

Sesshomaru stood up and walked to Jaken. “What is it?” he asked. “The eastern lord has sent you a messege. He

wishes to know if you’ll be attending the meeting this year or if you’re going to blow it off as usual.” Jaken said.

Sesshomaru sighed and left Kagome’s room. He was almost to his study when Rin latched to his leg again. “Rin

loves outo-san very much!” Sesshomaru sighed and patted her head before watching her take off towards Kagome’s

room. Jaken just fainted.

Miroku listened to everything Sango was saying about Inu Yasha and Kikyo. He still didn’t understand how he

could be such a jerk. He knows he needs her just as much as they do. Miroku still didn’t understand, even when Inu

Yasha admitted it earlier. He knew that he had to stay with his friend though, not only because of naraku but because

he is his friend afterall. But Miroku couldn’t help but feel bad for Sango and Shippo who were crying for hours now.

Shippo cried himself to sleep but Sango was still wide awake.

Kikyo and Inu Yasha had left an hour ago, they said they’d be back before nightfall, which would be in about an

hour. Miroku couldn’t help but feel pained over what would happen tomorrow. He knew he couldn’t do anything,

and inu yasha had not intended to. Kikyo would be glad, Shippo and Sango would be crying again, and Kagome

would be helpless.

It was getting late. Rin had decided to sleep with Kagome that night and they whole place was quiet. Sesshomaru

even went to bed early today. He’d been wondering all day what that voice in his head was trying to tell him. He

knew one thing, loving a human was wrong, it was against him, ao it couldn’t have been right. But Kagome had been

thinking too, wondering why she’d shivered when he touched her. When she couldn’t get the answer, she decided

just to go to sleep. Silently glad that she’d get to stay with Sesshomaru.

&

Kagome woke up early the next day and found only her kimono. She quickly put it on. This one was plain dark blue

with a silver obi witha dark blue cresent moon on the right side. When she moved, she noticed that the were silver

sparkles. It was beautiful. She decided to leave her hair down and walked out towards the training dojo.

“I couldn’t find my training outfit.” she said when she saw Sesshomaru. “You don’t need it.” he said. He grabbed her

arm and pulled her through another shoji door and into a room full of weapons. He handed her another obw and a

quiver full of arrows. She followed him back out and put the quiver on her back.

“I’m taking you to Inu Yasha now.” Kagome sighed and walked up to him. A silver cloud began to form at his feet.

Kagome immediately attatched to his arm. “What are you doing?” He asked. “I don’t want to fall.” she said. “then

hold on.” Sesshomaru managed to get his arm around her waist and pull her a little closer to him when the cloud took

off.

“Sesshomaru, stop.” The cloud stopped and he looked down at Kagome as if to ask why she asked him to stop.

“Well, if he does give you the sword, I mean i know he won’t bur I still want to thank you for how nice you’ve been.”

Kagome said. “Is that all?” He asked. She shook he head and put her hands on his left shoulder. She began to take

on a pinkish glow before he felft his arm in place. For a moment, his cold facade was gone, replaced with utter shock.

Kagome just smiled and rested her head on his shoulder as he pulled her closer and took off again.

&

“Sesshomaru!” Inu Yasha yelled. Everyone watched the taiyoukai approach. When he’d reached them, he let his

cloud disappear and he gracefully landed with Kagome next to him, and his arm around her waist, and he didn’t

remove it when they landed.

“So, little brother, what will it be?” Inu Yasha growled before speaking. “I’m sorry, kagome. I can’t give up this

sword,” Kikyo nudged him, “and Kikyo needs the rest of her soul back.” For some unknown reason, Sesshomaru

growled and pulled Kagome closer to him. “If anyone gets any soul, Kagome will be getting hers back,” Sesshomaru

growled before he picked up Kagome bridal style and jumped into the air. “It’s your loss, little brother.” Sesshomaru

took off towards his castle leaving everyone dumbfounded.

“Did he just have two arms?”

“Yes, Miroku, he did.” Sango said.
