Chapter 2: Mitsuko

 

It was a Monday morning at South Tranquil High School and Koji sat at his desk with his crew sitting around him. They were playing Go( a Japanese board game) and he was dominating them.

 

Teacher: Class, we have a new student.

 

Oikawa: Hope it's a girl.

 

Shogo: [joking] Maybe it's someone who can beat Koji.

 

Hiroki: Not a chance.

 

Teacher: Come on in.

 

A girl with long brown hair walked in. She was very beautiful, had a kind face, and a nice “figure”.

 

Mitsuko: Hi, I'm Mitsuko Chigusa, nice to meet you.

 

Koji stood up and stared in aye.

 

Oikawa: You like her, Koji? [laughing]

 

Koji paid him no attention. He looked at the crystal necklace she wore.

 

Koji: (That dragon she has…it can't be)

 

Mitsuko looked over at him and he smiled. Suddenly tears rolled down her face and she embraced him. Everyone in the whole class was surprised…

 

Mitsuko: [crying] Koji, it's you. I never thought I'd see you again.

 

Koji: I'm glad to see you too but what's wrong?

 

Mitsuko: [still crying] My life has changed since I moved away. My parents were constantly fighting but they're divorced now. I have also been stalked and almost assualted before. The only thing that kept me going was your crystal and all the memories of our time together…

 

Koji wipped a tear from her face.

 

Koji: It's okay, I'm here now.

 

She smiled and clung to him. After school, he walked her home. They laughed and talked about the old days. Mitsuko grabbed his arm and rested her head on his shoulder. Koji blushed, surprised by her actions. Mitsuko into his eyes and smiled.

 

Koji:[nervously] Umm…Mitsuko…do you wanna be my girlfriend?

 

Mitsuko: Yeah…because…I love you!

 

Koji kissed her gently and smiled back at her.

 

Koji: I love you too.

 

They sat on the beach and talked about themselves.

 

Mitsuko: So you still make crystal sculptures with your grandpa?

 

Koji: Yeah and I'm pretty good.

 

Mitsuko: You and your friends seem pretty strong.

 

Koji: Yeah and I'm undefeated. I'm fighting in the Tranquil Islands Tournament.

 

Mitsuko: I'll be rooting for you.

 

It started to get late and they still sat on the beach together.

 

Mitsuko: [looking up] What's that?

 

Koji: A meteor shower!

 

They wacthed as the stars flew through the sky.

 

Mitsuko: It's beautiful!

 

Koji: Yeah (But it seems weird…)

 

Afterwards, Koji walked her home and got another kiss.

 

Koji: (Yeah, I'm good…huh)

 

He spotted a mysterious hooded figure on the beach but couldn't make out who he was. The person slowly walked towards Koji but he justed smirked. Koji got into his fighting stance.

 

Koji: You lookin for a fight. [sighs] Just couldn't wait until tomorrow.

 

???: Tomorrow will be too late. Your world will be lost to darkness and the Heartless will come for you, crystal clan member.

 

Koji: The hell?!? Crystal clan, what's that and what the hell are heartless?

 

???: No time. I have to go now, good luck Koji.

 

The hooded teen disappeared, leaving Koji confused. He wanted answers and the thought of his peaceful world ending worried him. Koji headed home and had trouble finding sleep. When he woke up in the morning, the sun wasn't even up so he went to the beach and slept under his favorite tree.

 

In the dream…

 

Koji: What's going on? Am I dead…Hell no, I won't die so easily!

 

Koji looked around and saw only darkness.He was standing on a stained glass platform. He peered over the side and almost lost his balance.

 

Koji: Man…I'd hate to fall off this thing.

 

Suddenly three sone pedestals jutted from the ground. Koji was startled by them. Each one held a different weapon; a sword, a shield, and a staff.
