Chapter 8
Battle In The Sky-Riding Like A Pro
Koji and Leo were flying their ship on another planet when they received a signal from a long green and white dragon-bird like ship.
???: This is Holland, captain of the Gekkostate, identify yourselves.
Koji: Huh?
Holland: Do you have anything to do with those strange black and white creatures?
Koji: No, well actually we’ve fought and defeated a lot of them.
Holland: [surprised] You have?!? Come on aboard.
Holland’s ship opened up to let them in. They entered the bridge and the crew introduced themselves.
Holland: Nice to meet you two, I’m Holland.
Talho: I’m Talho.
Renten: I’m Renten, how you doing?
Eureka: And I’m Eureka.
Moondoggie: What’s up, I’m Moondoggie.
Gidget: Hey cuties, I’m Gidget.
Stoner: Hey, I’m Stoner.
Koji: Nice to meet you guys. [thinking] Man, these guys have some weird names…well except Holland.
Holland: So what exactly are those things?
Koji and Leo explain to them what Heartless and Nobodies are.
Holland: So that’s what they are? And you’re a Nobody?
Leo: Yeah.
Renten: So you guys are from another world, that’s so cool!
Koji: Hey, we saw some people riding around on boards. What are they?
Renten: Those are liftboards and it’s called lifting. We use invisible particles that come from the core of our planet to fly.
Koji: I gotta try it.
Renten: You sure, but you’ve never lifted before?
Koji: I’ll be fine.
Renten handed Koji a white liftboard. He grabbed his own board and jumped out of the ship with Koji.
Renten: Now for starters you should…[shocked] Wow!
Koji was flying around at incredible speeds and pulling all kinds of tricks.
Renten: Man, he rides just like a pro!!!
[back on the ship]
Stoner: Did you see that?
Gidget: [blushes] Wow, he’s more amazing than I thought.
Talho: Thought he said he never lifted before.
Leo: He hasn’t.
Moondoggie: He’s great . . . Better than Holland.
Holland: . . . [thinking] I hate to admit but he is!
Koji: This is exciting and relaxing at the same time.
Koji flew upwards with amazing speed, then pulls off a back flip. He came down fast and the turbulence almost knocked Renten off his board.
Renten: Hey!!!
Koji: [laughing] Sorry.
Stoner: Incoming swarm of Heartless!
Holland: Renten, get back into the ship and launch the Nirvash with Eureka.
Leo: No need to.
The crew: Huh?!
Hundreds of black birds flew towards the ship. Koji’s keyblade appeared in his hands and he sped towards them.
Holland: Is he crazy . . . What’s he doing?!?
Leo: You’ll see.
Koji: Damn, these are some big ass birds.
He flew and started slashing through the Heartless left and right. Koji sped around them and flew up high into the clouds. The Heartless searched around to find him. They looked up the sun blinded them. Koji jumped off his board, then crossed and uncrossed his arms within the crowd of Heartless.
Koji: Crystal Storm!
He glowed and large crystals went through all the birds, killing them instantly. Koji dived down and landed back on his board.
[back on the ship]
Renten: Man, what was that sword of yours and these crystals?
Koji: My keyblade.
Holland: The key!!!
Leo: You know of it?
Holland: I’ve heard of the legend of the key.
Talho: Anyway let’s forget about this and just relax.
Koji: Thanks, I’m going to eat.
Gidget: I’ll show you to the cafeteria, sexy.
After Gidget’s flirting and Koji’s meal . . .
Renten: Hey, Koji . . . I . . . um . . . Need to ask you something.
Koji: What’s up?
Renten: I . . . kinda like this girl . . .
Koji: [cuts him off] It’s Eureka, isn’t it?
Renten: Well yeah, but I don’t know how she feels about me.
Koji: Do you love her?
Renten: Yeah . . .
Koji: I can’t hear you!
Renten: Yes . . . Yes I do!!!
Koji: Then don’t give up. Keep trying and you’ll get her.
Gidget: [hiding nearby] Aww, that’s sweet.
Koji: Because I got a girl I love and I won’t rest till I see her again.
Gidget: [thinking] Damn, he has a girlfriend.
The next day, Renten had been spending time with Eureka. She kisses him and then walks away. Renten ran up to Koji.
Koji: I saw that, I’m proud of you.
Renten: Thanks Koji. [starts to think about Eureka and blushes] wow, she’s amazing.
Koji: [smiles] I’m happy for you. [thinking] But, what about Mitsuko? [sighs]
Renten: You alright?
Koji: Yeah, I’m cool.
[an alarm goes off]
Holland: Attention! Renten and Eureka, prepare for battle, that damn black and white bird is back!
Renten: No, again!
Eureka: Let’s go!
Koji follows them to the hanger. Renten and Eureka board a red and white robot.
Renten: Are you guys providing support?
Holland: Negative, the repairs on our LFO’s aren’t done.
Koji; Don’t worry, I’ll help.
Leo: You can’t.
Koji: Why?
Leo: It’s too though for even you.
Koji: [thinking] Shit, I have to do something.
He looks around the hanger and spots a LFO that wasn’t damaged. It’s all white with same traces of black on it.
Koji: What about this one?
Talho: Sorry Koji, that thing won’t even move and it’s Mobile Trace system is too much for anyone to bear.
Koji: Don’t care, I can handle it.
Koji jumps into the LFO. He looks around the cockpit and finds a lot of open space with no seat. The computer-like monitors going around in a circle.
Koji: Doesn’t look like the other LFO’s.
Computer: Activating Mobile Trace System.
A metal-like cycle comes from the ceiling and comes down on Koji. He strains for a minute but then relaxes. Koji is now wearing a black suit.
Koji: [breaths hard] Not as easy as I thought.
Holland: What?! He didn’t pass out?!
Computer: Checking brain waves, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, metabolism . . . All systems green. Pilot, please state your name.
Koji: Koji Hikari.
Computer: Registration complete.
Holland: Great, now Koji try to move.
Koji moves one finger and sees the LFO do the same. He then steps forward and so does it. Afterwards, he does a few punches and kicks.
Holland: Good luck.
Leo: Try not to show off too much.
Koji: [smirks] We’ll see.
The hanger opens and Koji flies out of the ship and towards the bird. The Nirvash was still fights it off.
Koji: Renten! Eureka! Get back to the Gekko!
Eureka: But you can’t fight it alone!
Koji: [smiles] Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.
Eureka: But Nirvash wants to help.
Koji: Huh? The LFO.
Eureka: Yes, it has a sort of being of its own. So before we go, just remember to listen to your LFO.
Koji: Sure.
The battle damaged Nirvash returns to the ship, as Koji faces down the menacing monster.
Koji: [points his thumb at himself] So here’s how we’re gonna do this. You’re gonna try everything you can to beat me but it’s not gonna work. You’re not gonna destroy me, my cousin, our new friends, and I’m gonna kick your ass.
The bird screams loudly and rushes towards him.
Koji: Too slow!
Koji dropkicks the bird from behind. The bird stabs furiously at him with its talons, but Koji blocks them with the back of his hands.
Koji: Damn, this thing is incredible. [thinking] It’s like that bird is going in slow motion.
Gidget: Wow, is there anything he can’t do?
Leo: He can’t stop showing off.
Koji knocks the bird with a five hit combo then kicks him into the air. The bird regains its control and with a mighty flap of its wings, sends out black and white feathers. However, these feathers were more like machine gun bullets.
Renten: Koji!
Leo: He’s alright.
When the dust cleared, Koji stood perfectly fine. He held the feathers in between his fingers.
Koji: That’s all. [laughing]
Koji grabs the bird by its wings and throws it high into the air. He then forms crystals into a giant replica of his keyblade. He flies upwards and slashes through with tremendous force. As he slowly puts up his weapon, the bird splits in half then it is blasted apart by the turbulence.
[back on the ship]
Renten: You did it!
Koji: No big deal.
Holland: We really appreciate it.
Eureka: Thanks Koji.
Holland: So have you thought up a name for your LFO.
Koji: [thinks] Hmm . . . How about the Neowolf.
Holland: Take good care of the Neowolf.
Koji: [shocked] I can keep it?!
Holland: Sure. None of us can pilot it.
Koji: [handshake] Thanks.
Holland: [handshake] No problem.
Gidget: Don’t go Koji. I’ll miss you. [jumps on top of him]
Koji: [blushes] Huh?
Gidget: [kisses him deeply]
Leo: Come on, let’s go James Bond. [grabs Koji]
They say their goodbyes and load the Neowolf onto their ship.
Leo: [piloting the ship] I just felt something.
Koji: What is it?
Leo: A power similar to yours.
Koji: Another family member?
Leo: No . . . . another keyblade master.
