Happy New Year 2005!! Hehe anyways I am feeling pretty generous it being the New Year and all (blushes). So…. Since I got a new truck I figured you guys could get a nice big update even if I haven't gotten any new updates (bawls uncontrollably). I do have more than this written but I had better get at least five reviews before I post them otherwise well let's say no reviews no chapters Mwahaha. I did say I am evil and my computer deserves a treat with me constantly pounding its keys all day. So I am taking a nice little pill (prescribed) hehe to help me sleep and when I next check please give me some reviews I hate to beg. (Gets on knees one lip hanging out and sobs a big PLEASE!!)

RECAP: Dio jumped back as he saw a slight smile grace her face, he knew it to be fake but decided to play along thinking that it might be interesting to let her think she was fooling him so he replaced his smile bending down to kiss her forehead lightly taking her in his arms once more his smile widened behind her back as he placed his chin on her shoulder feeling her arms wrap around him he wanted to giggle in excitement thinking of how made Delphenae would be and how much fun it was going to be braking his new mate.

 

CHAPTER TEN AN APPOINTMENT:

Lavi smiled at Dio as her mind ran through all possible ways to escape him and the guild if she had too. Lavi wrapped her arms around him her eyebrows coming together in thought thinking if only Claus were here he would know what to do. Then she remembered the thoughts of Claus calling her names, her expression falling as a single tear ran down her cheek. And for an instant she wondered if maybe she should give in to Dio but she shook her head snapping herself out of it but the thought did have some appeal as she promised herself to think about it later she put on the best smile she could.

 

Dio had watched with interest at the emotions that flickered over her face along with the tear that had slipped out making him wonder what she was thinking. He nearly jumped when she suddenly looked up at him with a faint smile thinking, I hope she hasn't lost it. And he returned the smile thinking that he would play along with her to amuse himself.

 

Lavi jumped as he broke the silence saying,

“Do you need me to help you get dressed?” he nearly laughed as her head snapped up her eyes wide, a blush creeping across her face. Lavi quickly lowered her head her hair falling in front of her face as she quickly shook her head no. Dio released her from his embrace he started to walk to the door saying

“Well then I guess I will leave you to it then and Lavi?” Lavi lifted her head hair falling back as she squeaked out a yes her hand flying to her mouth in embracement at her voice. Dio simply smiled and said

“I will be waiting outside the door so don't make me wait too long.” And with that he opened the door stepping out then quickly shutting it behind. Dio leaned against the wall next to the door smiling as wide as he could thinking that he had made a great choice he had never noticed how beautiful she was especially when she was embarrassed. Dio's eyes narrowed when he thought of how Claus always took her for granted as if she already belonged to him. Here Claus was somewhere with Tatiana for more than a day and stranded or not if it were Dio he would have made it back even if it killed him just to be with her whether she wanted him or not, he quietly nodded his head in agreement and his heart agreed his mate was strong, smart, and beautiful. Dio smiled as he thought he was lucky to have taken her when he had whether it was against her will or not.

Lavi grew angry that Dio could push her buttons so easily but quickly started to take out some clothes knowing that he could barge in on her at any moment. She took out a pair of overalls smiling when she thought of how mad he would be at her choice but she wouldn't make it easy for him, the guild brat always got what he wanted so easily. She stifled a giggle as she thought well he wouldn't get her so easily whether he had marked her or not. As far as Lavi was concerned the mark didn't mean a thing because it had been made by force her eyes grew small as she thought once again what kind of person marks his mate like some animal marking his territory but then it hit her he was some kind of animal marking his territory. Lavi giggled as she pictured Dio as a dog peeping on a tree then was glad that he hadn't peed on her. And she continued to get dressed quickly and she was zipping up her overalls as the door swung open a smiling Dio in the doorway.

 

Dio's smile fell as he saw Lavi's choice of clothes he immediately replaced clucking his tongue shaking his head saying

“No, no Lavi this will not do, do you want your wedding dress to be a pair of overalls? Well I don't so..” Dio walked over to the chest rummaging around for something more suitable. He inwardly applauded Lavi for her defiance and knew that he would enjoy it more that night. He finally found a dress actually her only dress a simple one in a light blue. Dio turned with the dress in hand giving it to Lavi and slowly started to unzip her overalls saying

“I guess you did need my help after all.” Lavi jumped and quickly backed up as Dio matched her step for step till she tripped back as she hit the still open door slamming it shut behind her as she felt Dio's arms going about her catching her before she hit the door.

 

Dio felt his heart stop as he saw her stumble against the door and without even thinking his arms went out catching her. He felt her stiffen in his arms and almost lost his cool when he looked down seeing her overalls partly open showing a simple white bra underneath. He quickly replaced his smile setting her on her feet but he kept his arms around her saying

“Lavi please don't distract me I don't want to be late going to the bridge to see Alex now come on let's get you dressed.” Dio let go of her and resumed unzipping her overalls when he felt her hand over his stopping him.

 

Lavi quickly put her hand over his stopping his hand and the zipper. She just shook her head swallowing her pride saying quietly not meeting his eyes

“Please don't I will wear the dress just give me some privacy please.”

 

Dio reluctantly let go of the zipper telling himself he would have some fun that night knowing that however much she struggled she would be bound to him and no one would save her then. He simply nodded and when she stepped aside he gave her one last glance over and opened the door flashing her a smile and exited shutting the door behind him.

 

Lavi started to breath again unaware that she had held it silently glad that he had given in so easily. She turned picking up the dress that Dio had dropped when he had caught her. Lavi sighed while she finished undressing and then redressing she went to the mirror pulling at her dress. She looked at the simple long sleeved dress glad that it at least reached her ankles bur not so happy that it was made of a material that clung to her every curve. She sighed as she pulled at it one more time then turned bending over the trunk rummaging around coming out with two shoes she breathed a sigh of relief that they didn't have any heals. She sat down slipping them on a frown on her face remembering when she had bought the dress. Lavi had bought it hoping to impress Claus but she hadn't had a chance it seemed that he was always busy or off fighting. She jumped when she heard a knock at the door putting her fake mask complete with smile she stood up she didn't know what she would do if she actually had to marry Dio but either way vows or no vows she would escape, a scene of her shooting him in the head flashed through her mind and then it was gone. Her face fell for a moment thinking that she couldn't shoot someone with a van ship what made her think that she could harm another person even if it was Dio.

 

Dio stepped through the door seeing Lavi sitting there smiling at him. He decided that he would play along for the moment or at least till he had her in his bed, that last thought made his smile widen. He watched Lavi stand looking her down then up noticing the slight blush across her cheeks. Dio held out his hand to her seeing if she would keep up her charade and take it. He felt his desire rise as she indeed took his hand, he quickly pushed it down thinking that if she wanted to play then he was all to happy to oblige or at least till that night.

 

Dio and Lavi stepped out of the room and started to walk the short walk to the bridge when they came to a quick stop as Al rounded the corner. Al stood there her eyes wide and her mouth hanging open as they slowly reached her. Lavi still holding Dio's hand bent over placing her other hand on Al's shoulder she gave the girl the most sincere smile she could asking Al where she was off to in such a hurry. The small girl shut her mouth only to open it saying

“It's Claus he is back along with Tatiana he is looking for you.” Lavi's face covered in concern as she tried to release Dio's hand to find Claus only to wince at the grip Dio kept her wrist in she turned her head to glance up at him still bent over in front of Al.

 

Dio only smiled in return refusing to let go of her hand noticing that she was about to throw a fit right in front of Al he said

“Lavi are you forgetting that we have an appointment with the captain and I don't think he likes to be kept waiting you can go see your little friend afterwards I will even go with you.” Lavi's face fell, her eyes starting to tear when Al asked

“What does he mean Lavi? What kind of appointment?” Lavi looked back at Al blinking the tears back replacing her fake smile and answered

“We are to be married Al, Alex said he would do the h..honors.” She hesitated at the word honors but didn't want Al to worry about her she would get herself out of this mess and without anyone's help even Claus. So to reassure the young girl she tilted her head to the side and put on the best smile she could telling Al that it was not nice to gape at people.

 

Al quickly clamped her mouth shut eyeing Dio sizing him up and then returned her eyes to Lavi. She was confused, she didn't even know that Lavi had liked Dio and couldn't believe that she would marry anyone other than Claus. Al gave a sigh of defeat she knew that there was nothing she could do, Lavi looked happy as did Dio and that's all Al wanted for her. Al smiled at the seemingly happy couple and told Lavi that she would tell Claus the good news and turned away running in the opposite direction.

 

Al didn't see the face Lavi made when she heard Claus's name again or that she tried to pull away from Dio only to close her eyes tightly as Dio gripped her wrist even tighter. Dio jerked back on Lavi's wrist making her step back hanging her head he lifted her chin with his free hand making her look at him he gave her a smile and said

“You don't want to play now that lover boy is back?” He didn't wait for her answer as she took her free hand pulling at the hand that held her chin not budging it an inch as he tightened it on her chin making a single tear slid down her now angry face. He laughed at her and said

“We have an appointment dear and I would be very angry if we missed it, so come on we are almost there.” Dio then released her chin and slid his grip on her wrist to her hand almost breaking a bone with his hold. He then started his walk looking around for any other people as he wrenched her arm making her stumble up next to him and replaced his smile.

 

Lavi quickly wiped her face on her sleeve straightening herself to keep from tripping. Lavi watched her feet to upset to make herself smile anymore as she thought about what Dio had said about playing games. She clenched her teeth together knowing that he had been playing along with her this whole time. Her chest hurt when she thought of Claus but she quickly thought that it didn't matter now he probably didn't want her now that he had Tatiana. She was someone that would fly with him in combat and he had after all spent a lot of time with her and overnight at that. Lavi felt her heart sink as she thought that he would no longer want someone weak like her especially since she had lost her virginity. And once again the picture flashed in her head of him looking down at her no longer in love but disgust, and part of her died as she thought that maybe she deserved what Dio had planned for them.

 

Dio stopped in front of the door to the bridge and knocked on it making Lavi almost jump out of her skin. He gave a small laugh and whispered

“Now remember be happy or at least act happy and if you do well I might let you sleep alone tonight.” Lavi's eyes lit up with hope as she smiled and cleared her eyes the only thing keeping the smile there was thinking about a night alone. Dio was pleased to see that he had gotten through to her and smiled himself when he thought of how the little lie had brightened her day.

 

The door opened to a man in uniform they could see Sophia standing back straight looking forward and Alex behind her with a solemn face. Alex turned to face them as they entered a small frown gracing his face he said

“Lavi I would like to speak to you alone for a minute if you don't mind Dio?” Dio cleared his throat saying

“Actually she has been ill this morning and I am concerned about her walking without assistance.” Alex gave Dio a small smile saying

“Then I will have Sophia help her along, Sophia?” Dio's eyes narrowed as he released her hand folding his arms leaning against the wall saying

“I'll be right here Lavi and remember what I said about tonight.” And he gave her a wink making it look like a lovers promise which made Sophia smile as she took Lavi's arm and followed Alex to his office, Lavi gave one last glance at Dio her eyes widening as he glared at her giving her a smile, she quickly turned her head back around but she could still feel his gaze burning into her back.
