CHAPTER ELEVEN: FATHERLY ADVICE:

 

Lavi felt safe for the first time in a long time and she smiled a real smile following Alex with Sophia at her arm. The small group turned and entered Alex's office and Sophia set Lavi down on a couch leaving the room closing the door behind her waiting to be called if Lavi had any problems.

 

Alex sat down at his desk turning his chair to face Lavi he lowered his eyes asking

“Is it true that you are with child Lavi?” Lavi jumped a slight blush across her face lowering her head answering a soft unhappy yes she wanted to say more but Alex continued speaking saying

“I see, well I guess it can't be helped so I will offer my advise this once since you have no father to give it” Alex paused waiting for her to nod he then continued

“Although I don't know the details I believe that any father even if he is from the guild is better than none as you well know growing up without one can be harsh.” Lavi's head jerked up quickly as she said

“But I don't love him I mean Dio.. I” but before she could finish Alex held up his hand and continued with his supposedly fatherly advice

“That no longer matters now you have the child to think of. I imagine that Claus would take the responsibility but I wouldn't let him make up for your mistakes if I were you, I will marry you to Dio but that is all I can help you with.” Lavi sat there in shock feeling like she was now alone in the world and jumped as Alex stood calling for Sophia to help Lavi back to Dio.

 

As Sophia quickly entered helping Lavi up from her position on the couch, Lavi raised her head to tell Alex that it wasn't her mistake that she was forced to do it but he was gone, her last hope was gone and he didn't even care enough to listen. Lavi lowered her head feeling Sophia tugging on her arm to follow her back to her rapist and the father of her child. Lavi had never felt as alone as she did at that moment and only raised her head when Sophia had stopped dropping her arm with a small squeeze. Her gaze locked onto Dio's and she felt ill as she watched him smile at her taking her arm and pulling her to him he whispered a quick good job and then slid his arm from her arm to circle her waist. She once again jumped when she heard Alex's voice and raised her head to see him standing before her and Dio.

 

Alex started his speech coming to the vows he got an I do reply from Dio and then repeated the words to Lavi turning his gaze to her lowered head. Lavi felt Dio's arm around her waist tighten as she opened her mouth to say the words that would sign her freedom away nothing came out. Alex's eyes narrowed and he repeated the words to her and finally got a quiet I do out of her so quiet that he could barely hear her. Lavi looked down watching her feet able to breathe better now that Dio's arm had loosened its grip. She jumped when his arm slid from her waist and grabbed her hand sliding something cold around her ring finger. And her shoulders had started to shake as she held back her tears now that Alex had stopped speaking. Lavi felt her chin being lifted and felt Dio's firm lips on hers and she quickly lowered her head after he was done. Her mind became a blank as she heard Dio thank Alex making excuses for her saying that she probably still didn't feel well.

 

Lavi was glad when Dio took her arm opening the door and only looked up when she saw a pair of feet in front of her. Her eyes became wide as she looked at Claus and Al in front of her and she slowly smiled at them only to have it fall as she noticed that Tatiana was there as well. She lost hope of Claus helping her even if she didn't want the help and hung her head muttering a small hi as Dio put his arm around her shoulders saying

“Look Lavi Claus has come to give us his best wishes.” He gave a giggle at his little joke.

 

Claus looked at Lavi's lowered head and said

“If this is what you want Lavi I hope you will be happy.” With that he turned and left as Lavi lifted her head all she saw was his back along with Tatiana's arm around it. As she stared in shock she didn't notice Al or how Al was glaring at Dio now that she had seen Lavi's expression.

 

Lavi felt a small shake from Dio's arm and snapped out of it lowering her head again she noticed that Al was still there and gave Dio a surprise as she sank to her knees encircling Al in a tight hug.

 

Al quietly asked if she was okay but before Lavi could answer Dio was lifting her up by her arm and all Lavi could do was give Al one of the saddest smiles Al had ever seen. And then she looked down at the floor where her eyes seemed to be a lot lately feeling Dio's grip on her arm tighten she whispered a small yes receiving a smile from Dio that she didn't bother to look up to see but she knew it was there as he led her away from all she heard the girl mutter a goodbye followed by something else to low for Lavi to hear.

 

That's when Lavi realized something, she hadn't seen Luciola all day and normally he never left Dio's side and curiosity getting the best of her she raised her eyes asking Dio

“Where is Luciola? I would have thought that he would be here.” Lavi watched as Dio's face fell when he replied that Luciola was just busy with something else and quickened his pace to their room.

 

Dio was taken back by Lavi's question about Luciola, his smile fell as he thought of how Luciola had asked if Dio was sure about going through with his plan this morning and said how livid Delphinae would be when she found out. He had thanked his friend for his concern and gave a grin telling Luciola if he was that concerned about the reaction she would give than he was in charge of making sure that word slipped to her. Luciola had looked stunned at Dio's reaction but Dio just laughed telling Luciola that he didn't have to tell her himself just to make sure that word got out. And with that Luciola's smile came back in place replying of course lord Dio, I will find a way but please tell Lavi I am sorry to have missed her big day, Luciola's grin got wider as he giggled along with Dio at his little joke. He had then told Dio that he would be away for one week's time saying he would borrow a van ship and, he giggled, leak out the information to those who were close enough to the guild to spread it but not close enough to keep him there. Dio nodded giving his friend a hug knowing that he could count on Luciola to get the word through even if it killed him. Dio's mind snapped back to present when he felt Lavi trip holding onto his arm to keep herself up.

 

Lavi felt so stupid she was so busy watching the emotions flicker across his face wondering where Luciola really was that she had tripped on her own foot of all things. She used both hands catching herself on Dio's arm and when she was back to standing she took a peek at his face to find that his normal smile was back in place. Lavi took a hand from his arm and tried to free the other one but gave up once she felt him stop walking. She was bracing herself for something and jumped when she heard a door opening she raised her head realizing that they were at their room and almost jumped out of her skin when Dio scooped her up in his arms saying

“A little jumpy today aren't we Miss Eleclare I think you need some more sleep.” Lavi didn't like being call miss whatever but she would do anything to get away from him and the bed so she muttered

“I'm not tired how about we go for a walk or something?” Dio shifted her weight walking through the doorway kicking back so the door shut. And when Lavi started to struggle he said

“Calm down I was just going to lay you down to take a nap while I go and play some fairy chess but if you continue to struggle I may want to skip the chess.”

 

Lavi quickly shook her head no and breathed a sigh of relief when he took a few extra steps and laid her on the bed. His hand trailed down her thigh to her calf and stopped at her shoe. He tugged off one then the other examining her feet for blisters. Dio finally released them and slid up her body coming face to face with her while straddling her waist. Lavi's lower lip stuck out as she asked

“I thought you were going to play chess?” Lavi saw his face getting closer and pushed her head as far as she could into the mattress but his lips still met hers in a kiss filled with passion. Dio finally broke away getting up he said

“I am, I will see you in a little bit and I do not want to hear that you have went to go see Claus remember you are mine in body and by law now” and with that he turned and let himself out shutting the door and Lavi could hear a metallic click knowing that he had locked her in. She slowly turned onto her stomach and started to cry into the mattress and cried herself to sleep.
