RECAP:
As they started out into the sky Lavi turned looking at the Sylvana wondering if she would ever see it again a sad look on her face. SHe quickly turned when she felt Al tug on her sleeve pointing to a cloud saying it looked like a bunny. It made Lavi smile pushing away her thoughts of the Sylvana and the ache that now held her heart.
CHAPTER NINETEEN:
None of the occupants of either van ship talked on the way to where they were going. Lavi sat in silence looking down at Al's sleeping face wondering just where their destination would be. SHe gave a longing sigh as she looked up past Luciola's head at her father's van ship wondering if she would ever be able to fly it again. A look of sadness crossed her face as she decided that if Dio had anything to do with it she wouldn't even get to touch it anymore. Lavi blinked rapidly the humming of the van ship making her sleepy and soon she too was asleep.
The two van ships flew across the sky one after the other toward the sun unaware of the eyes following their every movement.
It was getting dark as the van ships finally started their descent landing on the grass of a nearby field. Dio quickly jumped from the ship stretching his muscles as he started towards the other ship his eyes on Lavi the whole time. When he saw her not moving he threw a glance at Luciola making Luciola say
"SHe is mearly asleep lord dio."
Dio gave a nod as he said
"Luciola would you please carry Alvis and lead the way to this house you have set up for us."
Dio watched as Luciola lifted Al from Lavi's lap jumping down in one graceful movement. He then climbed up to Lavi's side carefully lifting her out of her seat and jumping from the ship as Luciola had done. He gave a smirk as he passed Claus' tense form ignoring his question of where they were going knowing that Cluas would follow him anyway.
The group headed down a small hill stopping infront of a rather large house. Dio gave a smile to show Luciola his apreciation of his pick in lodgings. He walked past Luciola kicking the doors open with his foot careful not to fall as he shifted Lavi's weight around so he could see better. He gave a sigh when he felt Luciola's form next to him still caring the sleeping Alvis in his arms.
Dio went up the large stair case hoping to find a suitable room fast so he could releave himself of Lavi's dead weight. He didn't bother to open any of the doors walking to the end of the hall on the left where he kicked in the last door a sigh of releif coming from his lips when he saw a large bed filling the room. He swiftly walked over to it gently laying Lavi down pulling the covers from underneath her and covering her up. He then straightened noticing that Luciola was at the door Alvis still in his arms, he gave his friend a smile as Luciola asked
"Lord Dio where would you like Alvis to stay?"
Dio's face became thoughtful as he replied
"Across the hall Luciola that way I can keep an eye on her."
Luciola gave a quick nod turning around shifting Al's body so he could open the door across the hall. Before long he emerged quietly closing the door behind him. Dio did the same with the door to the room he had just left, he gave an irritated sigh as he and Luciola started back down the stairs. He became even more irratated when he noticed that Cluas was still standing in the doorway looking lost. Dio ran a hand through his hair as he said
"You don't have to just stand there pick a room perferably one in the hall to the right of the steps."
Claus gave a strained nod and headed up the stairs turning and disapearing as he went down the right hallway.
When Lavi finally woke up she lay there in a daze staring at the ceiling wondering where she was. Her eyes squezed shut the image of flying was the last thing she could remember. She opened her eyes sitting up on the edge of the bed the thought finally coming to her that they must have reached their destination and someone must have carried her and put her to bed. She gave a light blush when she thought of someone carrying her all that way.
Lavi stood stretching out her achy muscles and headed towards the door wanting to find the others. When she opened the door she slowly walked down the hall turning and going down the stairs towards the sound of voices. She crept to a closed the door that the voices seemed to be coming from but hesitated to open it. She quickly shook her head firmly grasping the handle and jerking the door open. Two heads turned her way both had smiles on their faces.
Lavi returned the smile wondering if she should have done a little listening at the door before she had opened it. She gave a heavy sigh as she walked over to Dio and Luciola's forms seating herself in a chair near the corner. She felt a little out of place as she fidgeted with her hands on her lap. The room was dead quiet, she figured they had probably been talking about something they didn't want her to know about. Finally Luciola cleared his throat saying
"I hate to leave lord dio but I have a few things to attend to."
Luciola stood up bowing to dio then to Lavi, turning and leaving the couple in silence. Lavi watched his retreating back wishing he had stayed she really didn't know what to talk to Dio about so she stayed quiet.
Dio and Luciola had been talking about how unfortunate it was that Cluas had come with them. They where both stratled when the door to the room flew open framing Lavi's small figure. They had both out smiles on their faces as she walked over to the corner and placed herself in a arm chair. For a few minutes Dio and Luciola sat there the fake smiles still on their faces the tension in the air was almost unbarable. Dio gave a start when Luciola finally opened his mouth excusing himself and walking out the door. Dio gave a sigh he really didn't know what to talk about he eyed Lavi's small movements showing that she too was nervous.
Dio finally stood and gave Lavi a small smile as he said
"Lavi why don't you go up and have a shower? It might make you feel better."
And with that he left the room and then went out of the house figureing that he would just wonder around for a little bit and think of a good solution to get rid of Cluas.
Lavi's face showed her releif when Dio had left the room. She hadn't wanted to enter the room in the first place but she had thought that their might have been a chance that Cluas was there also. And once she had opened the door disappointment rushed to her heart and by that time it was already to late it would look rude if she had just turned and left. She gave a heavy sigh as she slowly stood from the chair her eyes showing disapointment that she hadn't seen Claus since they had landed she really did want to talk to him.
Lavi slowly climbed the stairs her head hanging low and her shoulders slumped. She decided that a shower might just be the thing to raise her spirits. She retraced her steps pushing open the door to her room looking around for another door that would surley lead to the bathroom. Her eyes finally landed on a door on the left side of the room. She slung an arm back shutting the door completely behind her she noticed that the door was still open a crack but she didn't care. She headed towards the end of the bed noticing that her trunk had been placed there already. She flung the lid up her eyes scanning it's contents she pulled a towel from it as headed towards the bathroom. The idea of a bath was getting more and more tempting. She undressed turning on the water a small smile finally coming to her face as she put a hand underneath the hot water. She finally steped into the streaming water sighing as she felt the water wash away all her tension.
Meanwhile in the room across the hall Alvis started to stir her eyes finally popping open as she sat straight up. Her face showed how scared she was the last thing she remembered was snuggling with Lavi in the vanship. She swung her legs off of the side of the bed and quickly stood up. She almost ran to the door flinging it open peaking out into the hall. Her eyes finally fell on the door across the hall as she took a careful step into the hall her eyes sweeping it once more for danger. Her hand was shaking as she gave the door a small push her eyes taking in the room before her. Her face instantly lit up when she saw Lavi's trunk at the end of the bed. She stepped further into the room hearing a small sound coming from a door in the room. She took small quick steps towards the door hope on her face as she gave it a light knock. She heard someone give a small curse and when she recognized the voice she rushed into the small room filled with steam. Her face had a large smile as she said
"Lavi? Is that you? Are you okay?"
Lavi's head snapped up when she heard Al's voice so near. She peaked out from behind the shower curtain tears coming to her eyes when she saw the small girl standing next to the shower. Lavi gave a laugh as she said in a cheerful voice
"Al! Yes I am fine, I'm getting out now could you wait for me in the bedroom?"
The small girl gave a nod and cheerfully bouced out of the room. Lavi turned the water off steping out of the shower turning to reach for her towel when her eyes caught her reflection in the mirror. She forgot about the towel and steped closer to the mirror reaching up and wiping the water from it. She gave a small gasp at the person that looked back at her. She brought her hand up to the scar on her chest in the shape of a D. She was suprised when she felt tears leaking from her eyes she no longer knew who was staring back at her. It wasn't her anymore it was what he had made her. Her mouth hung open as she panted the tears coming freely now. She gave out a strangled cry as she slammed her free hand down on the sink but no matter what she did she couldn't tare her eyes from the mirror.
Only when she heard a small gasp coming from the door did she take her eyes from the mirror her hand falling from her chest to hang by her hip. There Al stood a slight blush on her face as she stuttered out
"S...s..sorry I..I heard a small cry I thought you might be hurt."
Al's eyes traveled down from Lavi's face as she stared openly at the scar on Lavi's chest. Lavi quickly brought her hand back up covering his mark. She raised her eyes to Al's face once more as she saw tears whel up in the small girl's eyes as Al brought her finger tips to her lips. Lavi's eyes grew wide as she turned away from the girl screaming
"DON'T LOOK! DON'T LOOK AT ME!"
Lavi heard Al run from the room but she nolonger cared as she sank to the floor curling up in a ball disgusted with herself she hadn't ment to sound so mean to Al but she didn't want Al to see her like this. She wasn't the Lavi that Al knew anymore she was something Dio had turned her into. SHe felt hate rise up inside her heart as she remembered him taking her by force and mutilating her body to show his owner ship of her. She felt numb as she let it all out in loud sobs she didn't know how she had thought that she could find happiness with someone as cruel as he had been. Her heart screamed at how he had changed but her mind was angery that he had never shown that he regreted taking her, she had never gotten a apology. Maybe this was all an act for him after all he did love to play with her emotions.
Lavi lay there so lost in thought that she gave a startled scream when she felt something soft cover her. Her eyes closed she struggled fiercely as someone lifted her from the bathroom floor. SHe was panicing and when she felt herself being placing on the bed she screamed
"NO! DIO NO! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY NO BEFORE YOU LISTEN!"
Her hand flew up a loud slap sounding through the room as she squized her eyes shut waiting for the pain to begin. After a few minutes nothing came, She flinched when a finger traced her scar. She shrank back as far as she could into the matress. Her eyes popped open when she heard an angery voice say
"Did he do this to you?"
Lavi looked up into Claus' face tear streaming down her face as she gave a quiet nod. She shrunk back when his face was filled with anger as he asked
"What did you mean by him not listening to you?"
Lavi lowered her eyes in shame, she really didn't want to tell Cluas but she knew that he would know if she was lieing so she said in a voice that could barly be heard
"I never gave him my permission to do anything that he has done so far."
Cluas brought his hands to his lap balling them up in fists as he asked
"Then why did you marry him Lavi?"
Lavi's head jerked up as she said
"I knew that you wouldn't want me after he was done so I gave my consent. As much as I hate to admit it I don't want to be alone. He said that if I asked for help he would say that I threw myself at him."
Lavi looked down in shame but quickly looked back up when she heard a low growl of anger come from Cluas. Her eyes went wide she had never seen him so angry before. She raised a hand placing it on his cheek as she said
"Please Cluas don't do anything I don't want you hurt because of me."
Cluas brought his hand up and placed it over Lavi's as he said
"You should have more faith in me Lavi you knew I loved you. But for now we need to get you and Al out of here before Dio finds out that you have told me the truth."
Lavi's face was drenced in tears as she gave a small smile pulling Claus into her embrace. She nodded into his shoulder her eyes closing as she felt true joy for the first time since Dio had taken her life away from her. She had forgotten that she was nude with a small towel being the only thing covering her.
They sat there hugging eachother for a few minutes but quickly pulled away from eachother when they heard a nervous cough come from the doorway. Lavi cringed as she raised her eyes to the figure in the doorway. Releif washed over her when she saw that it was Al standing there blushing as she stared at her feet. Lavi gave her a smile as Cluas got up from the side of the bed saying
"Hurry and get dressed Lavi, don't bother packing we will leave it here. We will be able to fly faster without the extra weight of your trunk. If you need me I will be right outside the door with Al waiting."
Lavi watched Cluas' retreating back a smile on her face as she got up and dug through her trunk pulling out a pair of overalls and other things she needed to get dressed. She dressed quickly excitement at the idea of finally being free of Dio and of starting a new life with Cluas and Alvis. In the matter of a few minutes she ran to the door releif filling her when Cluas and Al turned to her, there for a minute she had thought that they would be discovered. THe small group quickly walked out of the house and halfway ran to the waiting vanships in the field. Without wasting anytime Cluas jumped up into the driver's seat and Lavi climbed up into her seat behind him dragging Al up with her. Cluas started the vanship and quickly picked up speed but all heads turned to the sound of another vanship starting.
Lavi felt her heart hit her feet when she saw the other vanship moving also a pissed off Dio in the front and a calm Luciola behind him. Lavi felt tears building up in her eyes thinking that she should have known that he wouldn't let her get away that easily. She shrank down in her seat holding tightly to Al as they went higher and higher in the sky DIo and Luciola not far behind them. It reminded Lavi of when her and Cluas would race and her confidence grew as she remembered how fast they had been.

SHe gave a sigh of releif when she saw that their van ship was slowly pulling away from the other. She turned back around quickly when she heard Cluas gasp. "THE GUILD!"

"Hurry and get dressed Lavi, don't bother packing we will leave it here. We will be able to fly faster without the extra weight of your trunk. If you need me I will be right outside the door with Al waiting."
Lavi watched Cluas' retreating back a smile on her face as she got up and dug through her trunk pulling out a pair of overalls and other things she needed to get dressed. She dressed quickly excitement at the idea of finally being free of Dio and of starting a new life with Cluas and Alvis. In the matter of a few minutes she ran to the door releif filling her when Cluas and Al turned to her, there for a minute she had thought that they would be discovered. THe small group quickly walked out of the house and halfway ran to the waiting vanships in the field. Without wasting anytime Cluas jumped up into the driver's seat and Lavi climbed up into her seat behind him dragging Al up with her. Cluas started the vanship and quickly picked up speed but all heads turned to the sound of another vanship starting.
Lavi felt her heart hit her feet when she saw the other vanship moving also a pissed off Dio in the front and a calm Luciola behind him. Lavi felt tears building up in her eyes thinking that she should have known that he wouldn't let her get away that easily. She shrank down in her seat holding tightly to Al as they went higher and higher in the sky DIo and Luciola not far behind them. It reminded Lavi of when her and Cluas would race and her confidence grew as she remembered how fast they had been.
The two vanships soared through the sky one after the other gaining more and more speed. Lavi turned slightly to see exactly how much space there was between them. SHe gave a sigh of releif when she saw that their van ship was slowly pulling away from the other. She turned back around quickly when she heard Cluas gasp. Her eyes became wide as she saw a large form start to materialize from the clouds. SHe opened her mouth and screamed
"THE GUILD!"
SHe was stunned how did they know where they had went. She bit her lower lip as Cluas tried to slow down the speed of the van ship but she knew that it was already to late they had been spotted.
