Last Time: “You never told me why you and your friends split up.” Riku said after describing his friends.
“Why are you curious?” Kagome asked.
“Well, yeah.” Riku said.
“Well, a few days ago we had a small confrontation with Naraku. During the whole battle, I managed to shatter Naraku's fragment of the jewel shard, so we split up trying to get them before Naraku. Inu Yasha, Shippo, and I went one way and Sango, Miroku, and Kirira went another. Not long after that Inu Yasha and I were separated. I've been on my own for the past three days.” Kagome answered, taking a look at her surroundings.
“How much long 'til we reach this village.” Riku asked.
“About another hour or so.” Kagome replied.
Not wanting to walk in silence, Kagome made small talk with Riku. Learning a few odds and ends about each other. And before they knew it, they had reached Keade's village.

Chapter Three

“Inu Yasha, is that you?” a masculine voice called out to the infamous inu hanyou.

“Feh. Who else would it be monk?” Inu Yasha crudely replied.

“Where are Lady Kagome and Shippo?” Miroku asked.

“Shippo's in Keade's hut and I don't know where Kagome is. We were separated a few days ago from her, I was hoping she'd be here.” Inu Yasha stated, guiltily.

“Where's Sango?” he asked, finally noticing that the taijaiya was not there.

“She went on ahead to Keade's hut. Come Inu Yasha we have a lot of things we need to discuss.” Miroku said leading Inu Yasha to Keade's hut.

Upon seeing the new comers once they reached Keade's home, Inu Yasha automatically went into defensive mode.

“Calm down Inu Yasha, they are not our enemies.” Miroku said, hoping to calm the hanyou.

Still on edge Inu Yasha sat down in the farthest corner, away from everybody else. When he sat down, Miroku began telling Inu Yasha of the events of the last few days.

“What happened to y'all.” Sango asked after Miroku had finished telling the story behind Sora, and Kairi. “And why isn't Kagome here?”

“Not too long after we split up, we had taken a boat to cross this river we came upon. It was too wide to just jump across and we didn't know how long it was. When we had reached the middle of the river, a demon suddenly appeared and created this huge typhoon, destroying our little boat. All I remember after blacking out, was waking up on the shore and no Kagome.” Shippo answered in one breath, now starting to cry over the lost miko.

“Don't worry; I'm sure that you'll find your friend.” Sora said, trying to comfort the small kit. “And crying will do you no good.”

“Really.” Shippo asked, sniffling.

“I'm positive you will. My best friend, Riku, is missing also, and if we look together I'm sure we'll find them in no time.” Sora replied, patting Shippo on the back.

No longer crying, Shippo thanked Sora for his kind words. Sango was surprised at how easily Sora comforted the crying kit, that usually only Kagome could soothe.

“What are all ye doing here?” Keade asked, walking into her home, a basket of herbs in her arms.

“Where have you been you old hag?” Inu Yasha rudely asked.

“Learn some respect Inu Yasha.” Miroku spoke up, whacking him on the head with his staff.

“I was out, helping another village. Who are the new comers?” Keade asked, starting to prepare dinner.

“The browned hair boy is Sora, and the red head it Kairi.” Sango introduced adding, “They're looking for their friends.

“Would one of them happen to be a platinum haired boy named Riku?” Keade asked, chopping up a few vegetables.

“You've seen Riku!” Sora suddenly said, happy that his friend had been seen.

“He and Kagome had come by here two days ago. They were hoping to find some information about you guys. I told them that I didn't have any information, so they decided to go look for rumors in another village.” Keade replied, now stirring the vegetables in a pot.

“Have you seen or heard about anybody else?” Sora asked eager to get information on Donald and Goofy.

“Sorry, but I have not heard anything.” Keade answered.

“Was Kagome alright, she didn't have any injuries did she?” Shippo worriedly asked, unknowingly asking all the questions that had been plaguing Inu Yasha's thoughts.

“Relax child, Kagome was fine.” Keade answered, smiling at the young fox demon.

Sighing out of relief, Inu Yasha said, “We should leave then.”

Standing up, Inu Yasha was about to take off, when Miroku hit him on the head again. “What was that for monk?”

“We shouldn't act so hasty Inu Yasha. It's already dark out and we're all tired from the long day's journey. We can leave first thing in the morning.” Miroku calmly told Inu Yasha, who just fehed in reply. “Now that, that's settled let's eat.”

“Where do these things keep coming from?” Kagome angrily asked, shooting another arrow at another heartless.

Ever since they had left Keade's village, they kept running into these heartless and nobodies. Tired and frustrated, Kagome gathered up all of her energy and let out a huge purification wave, depleting her energy but successfully destroying all of the heartless and nobodies.

Noticing her stagger, Riku quickly caught her before she fell to the ground, “You use up all of you energy didn't you?”

“How could you tell?” Kagome sarcastically replied, smiling at him as she passed out.

Carrying her bridal style, Riku carefully placed Kagome underneath a large tree, as he set up camp. Getting out her sleeping bag, Riku placed Kagome in it. Studying her features, he lightly moved a stray hair out of her face. Sighing Riku started to make himself a cup of ramen.

He and Kagome had been traveling together for the last few days, and they still hadn't come across any rumors of Sora or Donald and Goofy. But over those few days, he had come to enjoy her presence, and the two had become fast friends, and he came to really care about her, maybe… No it wouldn't work out; she had that Inu Yasha guy.

After finishing his ramen, Riku went underneath the tree he had set Kagome under moments ago. Eventually he too fell into a deep sleep.

When Kagome woke up the next morning, she saw Riku sleeping under a tree near her sleeping bag. “He looks so peaceful when he's asleep” Kagome quietly said to herself.

Sighing Kagome stood up and started to stretch, still a bit tired from last night. Thinking that this place looked slightly familiar, Kagome began to prepare a small breakfast for Riku and herself, Kagome failed to notice the snake demon slowly creeping up behind her. Turning around, Kagome let out a piercing scream as the snake demon sank it's fangs into her stomach. Riku immediately woke up at the sound of her scream. Acting fast he quickly pulled out his keyblade, Way to the Dawn, and killed the demon, but the damage was already done.

Kagome lay down on the ground, a sickly pale color clenching her stomach where the demon had bitten her; her face contorted in pain. Quickly rushing to her side, Riku carefully pulled up her shirt a bit to get a good look at the wound. There was two bite marks on her stomach, luckily the bite hadn't gone all the way through her stomach, but the bite marks were an ugly shade of purple. Pressing his lips to her stomach, Riku began to suck the poison out.

After he had gotten as much poison as he could, Riku began to dig through Kagome's backpack. Sighing dejectedly when he found nothing useful, Riku slung Kagome's bow and backpack over his shoulder and carefully picked up the poisoned Kagome, hoping to find a near by village that could help.

Walking for about half and hour, Riku came upon a small house with a big field surrounding it. Trying his luck, Riku quickly made his way towards the front door, but before he got there a huge demon had stepped out, followed by an old woman.

“Kagome.” Jinenji called out, worried about the only person who had seen him for himself and not some vile half - breed.

“You know Kagome?” Riku asked, thankful that he had finally found someone who could help.

“What happened to her?” Jinenji asked, ignoring Riku's question.

“She was bitten by a snake demon. I managed to suck most of the poison out but she still has some in her system.” Riku explained, letting Jinenji get a better look at her.

“Quickly, bring her inside.” Jinenji's mother spoke, already heading inside to find some herbs for Kagome.

After Kagome was settled inside, Jinenji and his mother began to start on an antidote for Kagome. While they were doing so, Riku was watching over Kagome placing a cool cloth on her forehead to try and cool down the fever she had attracted.

“Turn around you two, I'm going to clean and bandage her wound.” Jinenji's mother said, after she was done preparing the herbs.

Taking off Kagome's shirt, she began to apply the medicine, and when she was finished with that, she began to bandage the wound, “It's a good thing you got out most of the poison. If it would have stayed in there any longer she probably would have died.” Jinenji's mother stated.

“It seems the keyblade wielder is already on the move. Koji, I want you to go introduce yourself to them.” A dark figure said, a wicked grin adorning his face.

“Yes my master.” Koji coldly replied, taking off through a portal.

“Just wait, you'll get what you have coming to you, just you wait.” Koji said aloud, as he landed in a vacant field.

Feeling lazy, he just decided to make a small camp and gaze up at the stars, thinking that you could see them much clearer here.

“So what do you guys want to do?” Kohaku asked. After he had awoken two days ago he was surprised to see and over grown talking dog and duck. But after a few minutes of utter shock, Kohaku stayed calm long enough to hear out there stories. He was surprised to say the least, but he had slowly started to believe them. So, now here they were looking for their friends and having no luck at it.

“Gosh, I'm running out of ideas. What do you think Donald?” Goofy said, turning to look at Donald.

“I don't know Goofy; what about you Kohaku do you know anybody who is willing to help us?” Donald asked.

Right when he said that, Kohaku's eyes turned back into that blank stare, like when he was about to kill Kagome and said, “Yea, I know somebody who could help. Follow me.”

Shrugging their shoulders as Kohaku's weird behavior, Donald and Goofy just followed as Kohaku commanded.

“I've finally picked up on Kagome's scent and there is also some unknown scent mingling with her's.” Inu Yasha said, now running in the direction Kagome's scent was strongest.

Sighing at his antics, Sango and Miroku just followed him on foot, letting Sora and Kairi follow on Kiarra.

Running faster, Inu Yasha finally came to a halt when he reached a village. Catching up with him, Miroku and Sango convinced him to let them go get something to eat. Grumbling about how frail humans were, Inu Yasha reluctantly agreed.

“Where are we?” Sora asked, after they had settled themselves at a small restaurant.

“We're at the village where Jinenji lives.” Inu Yasha stated. “It's become a lot bigger from that last time we were here.”

“Maybe Kagome went to see Jinenji.” Sango suggested, taking a sip of her tea.

“Maybe.” Inu Yasha replied, looking down at his own cup of tea.

When they eventually received their food, everybody ate in silence. Inu Yasha still brooding over losing Kagome, Sora thinking about finding Riku, Donald, and Goofy, Shippo thinking about Kagome and pocky, Kairi worried over Riku, Sango concerned for Kagome and Kohaku, and Miroku on the other hand was thinking how he was going to touch Sango's ass without getting slapped.

“Let's go see Jinenji.” Miroku said after everybody was done eating.

Deciding to walk this time, Inu Yasha led the others to Jinenji's home. They were disappointed when they saw no sign of Riku or Kagome. They did however see Jinenji working in the fields.

“Hey Jinenji have you seen Kagome?” Inu Yasha called out, running up to him.

Stopping what he was doing, Jinenji answered Inu Yasha, “She came by here two days ago with a boy named Riku. They barely left this morning.”

Saying a quick thanks, their little rag - tag group quickly took off hoping to catch up with Kagome and Riku.

Finally catching sight of them, they saw Kagome and Riku sitting down next to each other, eating ramen and talking. About to go over there and show the boy his place, Inu Yasha was stopped dead in his tracks when heartless and nobodies started to appear.

“Not again.” Kagome groaned, pulling an arrow out of her quiver.

“Hey Kagome what do your friends look like again?” Riku asked, starting to struggle with heartless and nobodies. “Dark Aura!”

“Inu Yasha has silver hair and wears all red, Miroku wears purple and black robes, Sango wears black and pink armor, and Shippo wears a brown vest and shorts with a teal vest.” Kagome replied, shooting arrow after arrow. “Why do you ask?”

“Because they're over there.” Riku said, pointing out Inu Yasha and the others who were battling the heartless and nobodies also.

Frustrated by all the heartless and nobodies Inu Yasha yelled, “Wind Scar.” Successfully taking out all of the heartless and nobodies.

Ecstatic to see them, Kagome turned to look towards them and luckily she did, because the wind scar was coming straight at them, and Riku was too busy fighting nobodies to see it coming. Thinking quick Kagome swiftly pushed Riku out of the way, causing both of them to lose their balance and fall, with Riku landing on top of her.

Opening her eyes, after the blast had subdued, sapphire eyes met sky blue ones. Forgetting everything else, they just laid there, looking into each other's eyes.

They were brought back into reality when Inu Yasha's crude voice rang out, calling Kagome's name.

Quickly getting off of her, Riku helped Kagome up, while blushing a light pink that you'd have to be searching for it to see.

“Uhhh… thanks.” Riku said, thanking Kagome for saving his life a second time.

“It's no problem.” Kagome replied, starting to blush.

“Kagome are you okay?” Inu Yasha asked, rushing over to Kagome's side, pushing Riku while doing so.

“I'm fine.” Kagome answered.

“It's good to see that you're alright Lady Kagome.” Miroku said, catching up with Inu Yasha.

“I've missed you Kagome.” Sango said pulling Kagome into a hug.

“Kagome!” Shippo cried, jumping into Kagome's arms after she had broke her hug with Sango.

“Riku!” Sora said excitedly now that his best friend has been found.

“Hey Riku.” Kairi said, feeling the same way as Sora about seeing Riku again.

“Hey guys” Riku replied, glad that his friends were alright.

After re - introducing everybody to each other, they decided to stop and make camp. While Kagome was making ramen, Riku asked Sora about Donald and Goofy. Sighing, Sora replied that he hadn't seen them since the incident on the ship.

When everybody was done eating, Sora and Kairi both fell asleep, sitting next to each other under a tree. While everybody just sat there in silence, starring at the fire.

“Hey Kagome, would you like to come with me to the hot springs?” Sango asked, breaking the silence.

“Sure.” Kagome replied gathering her bathing supplies.

On their way to the hot springs neither said a word to each other, both lost in their own thoughts. Reaching the hot springs both undressed quickly and slipped in.

Allowing a few moments of silence Sango spoke, “So, Kagome”, coming out of her thoughts, Kagome looked up at Sango as she finished her question, “What has happened to you over the last few days?

“Well, after I was separated from Inu Yasha, I just basically wondered around. And two days after wondering around I ran into an injured Riku. Helping him out, we both decided to travel together to try and find you guys and his friends.” Kagome summarized, letting her thoughts stray back to the platinum haired boy.

Noticing a light blush beginning to appear on the young miko's face Sango asked, “Why don't you tell me more about this Riku character?”

“Why are you interested?” Kagome asked; sticking herself deeper into the water, so that half of her face was submerged.
“Not really, but I can tell you are.” Sango said, smirking at the blush that was becoming evident on Kagome's face.

“I just met him Sango. Sure he's cute and all and he did save my life.” Kagome stammered, unwilling to look Sango in the eye.

“When did he save your life?' Sango asked, trying to get more info out of Kagome.

At first unwilling to speak, Kagome finally caved in after Sango did some major pleading, proceeding to tell her about the incident with the snake demon.

Once Kagome was done talking, Sango and Kagome decide to just soak for a while. After getting all prunny, they both unanimously decided to get out of the water, but as they were reaching for their clothes they hear a rustling in the bushes.

Cursing their luck, Sango went back into the water and looked for a good rock to throw. When she found one, she threw it in the direction she heard the rustling. Not hearing anything, Sango and Kagome continued to put their clothes on.

Still suspicious of the noise, Sango hand signaled Kagome to be quiet and to follow her. Creeping towards the bushes, they suddenly came face to face with a certain perverted monk.
