Kagome felt nervous as they headed to the Hokage’s office, standing by her soon to be adoptive father didn’t make her any less nervous.

Watching Kiro knock before entering, he motioned her in with his hand and went in behind her, shutting the door. “Hokage-sama, I brought the girl,” he said, keeping a façade on his face in front of their leader. “Good, good. Kiro, would you leave us alone for a while, I would like to speak to this girl privately, I will send for you when I’m finished,” Sarutobi said. “Yes, sir,” the shinobi said and gave Kagome a reassuring smile before leaving the office.

“Have a seat, girl” Sarutobi said, motioning to the chair in front of his desk. Kagome nodded silently and took a seat in the chair. “What is your name?” he asked.

“My name is Kagome Higurashi,” she answered.

“What were you running from?” he continued.

“I was running from Orochimaru, he has had me captive since I was born because he raped my mother who was one of his slaves,” she said truthfully.

Hiruzen Sarutobi’s eyes widened at that tidbit of information, “and where is your mother?” he asked.

Kagome bit her lip, “he killed her when I was 6, because she tried to take me and escape,” she finally answered after a few moments.

“I am so sorry for your loss, do you know any jutsu?” he asked.

“I know the basics of chakra and how to do transportation jutsu as well as cloning jutsu,” she said.

At that moment a tan male with a scar across his nose and his hair brown hair tied up came in. “You asked for me, sir?” he asked with a bright smile.

“Yes, Iruka, come join us…Kagome can you demonstrate everything you know for us,” he asked. Kagome nodded and stood, walking to the middle of the room.

She began with pulling out a strand of her newly darkened hair; she infused her chakra with it, the hair forming into a chakra blade. “I can stand on water and walk up trees as well, but there is no water or trees in here so just letting you know I can do that,” she said.

After performing hand signs, a clone that was the perfect duplicate of her stood next to her. She then performed a transportation jutsu to appear behind Iruka and Hiruzen.

“Very well done, Kagome, very, very good,” Hiruzen and Iruka said as Kagome moved to take her seat once again.

“Well she’s welcome in my class to take the written and physical tests to become a shinobi of the leaf because she’ll have to perform assigned tasks to pass in front of the panel. I’ll tutor her in everything she needs to know for next week, and she’ll have to join the class every day this week to learn the rest of the material,” Iruka said. Kagome grinned and thanked him by bowing her head to him, “thank you Iruka-sama,” she said softly.

“You are very welcome but please Kagome, no sama, just sensei,” he said. “Iruka, send Miyazuri-san in on your way out,” Hiruzen said to the Chunin. Iruka bowed his head and left, doing as he was told.

Once Kiro entered the room, he walked over to Kagome and put his hand on her shoulder. “You have a very good girl on your hands, Kiro, she will be one talented Kunoichi, you are dismissed you two. Kagome, I hope to see our headband gracing you next week after the physical portion of the genin exam,” the Hokage said. “Yes sir,” she bowed and left with her father.
