Another Piece of the Puzzle by Kelocena
Rating: M / R (for sensuality and language)
Summary: It is said that of the Nine Greater Demons, Kyuubi Kitsune is the strongest. However, there are really ten demons and they are ruled by the Juubi(ten-tails). When one of them is sent to release Kyuubi from his container, trouble ensues. [NaruKyuu - shounen-ai]
Notes: Uwaaahh…. Sorry I haven't updated in like a month… But I didn't get those reviews! But now I have and it's given me time to think. Anyway, this chapter is longer than normal, so hopefully that makes up for it.
Super Special Fun Fact: Hatake means field… as in farm field. And Kakashi means scarecrow. So Hatake Kakashi is farm field scarecrow. The Naruto series has some pretty dumb names.
Many apologies and thanks to my reviewers!
Enjoy!

Chapter Five
Decisive Actions
When Naruto next awoke, food was laid out before him. Unable to identify what it could possibly be, he set it aside.
“If you don't eat, I won't be able to do my job.” It was that white-haired woman. “You'll die before I'm finished.”
This time the woman was escorted by the same man who had been with her the day they captured Naruto.
When Naruto did not respond, she reached into her backpack and pulled out a boxed lunch and a juice box. “Eat,” she commanded. Without hesitation, Naruto obeyed. He wasn't sure why but something deep inside him said she could be trusted.
“Well, I'll be going now, Uzumaki. See ya later.”
She began walking away. “Wait!” Naruto shouted.
She stopped and turned around.
“Who are you?”
“Well, since you're going to die anyway, I don't see a problem in telling you…” She made her way back to the cage. “The man who helped me capture you is Rokubi Uma (Six-Tailed Horse). I am Sanbi Tori (Three-Tailed Bird) and you are being held captive in the Hidden Village of the Beast, also known as Yajuu (Wild Beast).”
“Beast?”
“Yes. Beast,” her eyes narrowed. For a split second Naruto thought he saw the eye on her forehead protector flash red. But it could have just been the lighting. After that, she disappeared into the darkness.
Naruto heard footsteps approaching. Is she coming back? However, this time it was Nibi who emerged.
“She's right, you know. If you don't eat, you'll get sick,” Nibi said, “You want to get out of this hell hole, don't you?”
Naruto looked up at her sadly from where he sat.
“I have a plan to get you out of here. Are you will to try it?”
Naruto nodded slowly.
“Good,” Nibi reached her hand through the bars. “I'm going to need some of Kyuubi-san's chakra.”
Naruto grabbed her outstretched hands and began sending her chakra. He stopped when she let go. “All right, stand back.”
Naruto obliged and the cat demon sent a wave of chakra at the bars of the cell, causing them to shatter.
“There should be a secret passage in that direction,” she said pointing, “Find the crack in the wall and then use Henge no Jutsu to transform into a gold statue. Wait for Kyuubi-san to arrive.”
Without a second thought, Naruto ran off.

“Nibi Neko, Kyuubi Kitsune, I am disappointed in you,” Juubi hissed.
“Forgive us, Juubi-sama,” Nibi bowed.
“Nibi, in your place I have sent another Greater Demon to finish releasing the seal. Once it is released completely, the boy will then die and Kyuubi will have all his powers back again. I will then begin the final phase of my plan.”
Their short meeting ended and Kyuubi headed off to Naruto's cell.

“Naruto, you awake?”
“Kyuubi? Is that you?”
Kyuubi stopped in his tracks. That wasn't Naruto's voice! And the cell was empty! He turned and ran. I have to find Naruto! But he had to wonder. Why? Was he looking because he was concerned about getting his powers back or… possibly… worried about the boy himself?
He wasn't sure if he was really looking; all he did was run. He thought he could see a bright light. Standing there was Naruto, and someone else. Kyuubi wasn't sure if he should care who that someone else was. He just ran to Naruto.
“Kyuubi-san! Wake up!” a familiar voice shouted.
“Naruto? What happened? Where am I?”
“Glad to see you're all right, Kyuubi-san. You passed out,” Nibi said, kneeling beside him.
“Where's Naruto!”
“He's fine. I let him out. Now you're going to help him escape. I already led him to a secret passage, but he's going to need help because Juubi-sama will try to catch him again. He's waiting next to it disguised as one of the gold statues Juubi-sama has lying around this place. Now go far away from here, to Bird Country. You'll be safe there for a while. Here,” Nibi handed him a rough hand-drawn map and pointed to a location circled in red ink, “Try to find this spot and wait for me there. I'll bring Kakashi-san and Sakura-chan. We'll all meet and try to sort things out and come up with a solid plan.”
“Are you sure this is all right?” Kyuubi asked.
“Of course! We can't just let Juubi have his way!”
“Err… Right,” Kyuubi hesitated, trying to keep his cool. “Well then, see you.”
With that, the fox demon ran off with newfound determination.
“Take care,” Nibi whispered.
There it was! The golden statue next to the hidden passage. It vanished in a puff of smoke to be replaced by none other than Uzumaki Naruto. “Geez, what took you so long?” the boy frowned.
“No time to talk! Just run!” Kyuubi barked as he grabbed the young boy's wrist and dragged him through the dank tunnel that was the passage to the outside world.
“Okay, but you don't need to grab my arm!” Naruto snapped back struggling to keep his balance as he tried to keep up with the man ahead of him.
He waited for a response but didn't get one. Kyuubi Kitsune was well aware that Naruto was perfectly able to keep up with him and didn't need to be dragged. However, something about holding Naruto's wrist like that made him feel relieved; sure that Naruto was still there.
“We're almost there now,” Kyuubi said.
“Finally! How long have we been running, anyway?”
“Who knows? Besides, aren't you supposed to have more stamina, being a ninja and all? Does this little walk really tire you out, brat?”
“Yeah right! I just wanted to know because it feels like this tunnel goes on forever,” Naruto said.
For the past several yard, the tunnel floor had begun to incline, getting steeper the further the two went. “Hey, Kyuubi, why are we going up?” Naruto wanted to know.
“Because Juubi's `hideout' is underground.”
“Oh, I see.”
When Kyuubi and Naruto finally surfaced, they were surrounded thick forest. Naruto quickly pulled his wrist away from Kyuubi's tight grip and Kyuubi kicked the large grey stone that blocked the entrance, or in their case, exit, back into place.
“So, where are we?”
“I'm not sure,” Kyuubi said. He pulled out the map his childhood friend had given him and scrutinized it. “But I do know there is a small village roughly northeast of here, which is on the map. So from there, we can find out way to the `meeting place.'”
“Meeting place?”
“Yes. Meeting place. We're going to meet up with Nibi-chan there. But it could take a while to get there. I know it will take at least a couple of days to reach that village.”
“Then shouldn't we get going?”
I hate it when he points out the obvious like that, Kyuubi thought. “Yeah… We should.”
The two males headed northeast to reach the village Kyuubi had mentioned. With each step, the foliage beneath their feet crunched loudly. About four hours away from the secret passage, the sky had turned orange and Naruto stopped to lean against one of the many tall trees. He had his arm wrapped around his stomach.
“Is something wrong, stupid brat?” Kyuubi tried to sound casual.
“Urk…”
“Oh? Is this little hike wearing you out?” Kyuubi said smugly, a smile played across his lips.
The blonde teen was too hungry to care about Kyuubi's remark. “So hungry…” he mumbled.
“Suck it up! We've got a long ways to go and no time to complain!”
As soon as Naruto fell over, Kyuubi gave in. “All right. Fine. We'll stop and spend the night here. I'll go find us some food.”
“You sure know how to shovel it in, little piggy brat,” Kyuubi smirked.
Naruto was too busy stuffing his face to notice his companion's comment. He sighed happily when he had finished eating. “That was great! Well I guess this is good night.”
He lay down, but before he could close his eyes, Kyuubi shot him a cold glare.
Naruto rolled over. “And… thanks,” He said, glad Kyuubi couldn't see how embarrassed he was.
“Good night,” Kyuubi said softly, resting against a tree. It was his shift on guard duty.

Nibi Neko felt like she was racing time itself as she hurried through the areas that bordered Earth Country. She kept checking her satchel to make sure everything was in check. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw her destination. I hope everyone's all right.

Sakura could feel the rays of the sun bursting through the tent lining. Yawning, she sat up looked to her left to see Kakashi reading lazily. She turned to her left to see… an empty sleeping bag! This was weird. Naruto's the type who sleeps in.
“Naruto? Where are you? …Naruto…? Kakashi-sensei! Naruto is missing!” Sakura screamed.
“What's this?” Kakashi said, looking up from his book.
“Naruto is gone!”
Kakashi stayed calm while Sakura panicked. “Calm down, Sakura. Are there any traces?”
Taking a deep breath Sakura ran outside looked around. There! Next to their dead campfire was Naruto's forehead protector and a note. Sakura read the note aloud:
Haruno Sakura and Hatake Kakashi,
Uzumaki Naruto has been taken by my kin. But do not worry. He is safe. Please come to Bird Country as fast as you can. It is time that I explained what is going. I'll be waiting at the appointed location on the map.
- Kanna
“Kanna? Does that mean this is from Nibi-san?” Sakura asked, turning it over to see a map with a red circle.
“Probably.”
