Chapter Two Evelyn's Story

 

Now she hasn't slept in weeks

She's afraid to close her eyes

Cuz she's scared he'll leave

Now they've tried just about everything

But it's getting harder now for him to breathe

 

A young woman of about twenty-five with blonde hair and inky turquoise eyes sat by the hospital bed of her father. She could help but hold the hand of the dying Sixth Hokage. The best shinobi in the village. Her hero. Her father. Naruto Uzumaki. She tried to hold back her tears as the doctor and nurses discussed that he probably wouldn't survive but she ignored them as usual.

Evelyn, you should go home and get some sleep,” said the sick man, “You're going to end up looking worse then your uncle.”

(A/N: Her uncle is Gaara because Naruto married Temari.)

Evelyn smiled weakly but it faded quickly as a coughing fit began. Evelyn bowed her head and spoke.

 

And she said

“Daddy, Daddy don't leave

I'll do anything to keep you

Right here with me can't you see how much I need you

Daddy, Daddy don't leave

The doctors are saying things they don't mean

They don't know what they're talking about

Somebody hear me out

 

“Evelyn, Remember,” spoke Naruto, “These things happen.”

“Dad, Don't leave yet,” said Evelyn,” I need you. You are all I have left since Mom was killed.”

Naruto sighed.

“I know, Evelyn. But it's the way things are,” whispered Naruto between coughs.

Evelyn's Daddy's Little Girl necklace dangled on her neck as she began to pray.

 

Father, Listen

Tell him that he's got a home and he don't have to go

Father, save him

I will do anything in return

I'll clean my room

Try hard at school

I'll be good

I promise you

Father, Father

I pray to you

 

Naruto kissed his daughter on the forehead as her tears began to spill. He sat back and closed his eyes. Several minutes later, the machines began to beep signaling his heart had stopped. Forever.
