Nehru grit her teeth wishing she had listened a little better to Kura’s warning, she was probably going to end up being taken and hung as a spy. Kakashi motioned her to move out in front of him, she bowed her head and accepted her fate.

Kakashi led Nehru into the Hokage tower until they came up to Shizune, “There was a disturbance during our training, when a shinobi,” Kakashi pointedly looked at Nehru, “Wearing no headband nor carrying a passport and was caught spying. I need to talk to the Hokage to know what to do with her.”

Shizune nodded and went to go see if the Hokage was able to take anyone.

Kakashi look at the girl’s face more closely. She had violet colored eyes that looked as if they were slit like a cat’s. ‘Maybe it is some sort of blood limit.’ Looking at her he at first guessed she was thirteen years old but now he thought she was somewhere closer sixteen. He also thought she would be pretty if her face wasn’t marred by the scowl that seemed permanently etched ever since he wouldn’t let her go.

“What is your name?”

A few seconds passed as if she was debating on telling him, shrugging she answered. “My name is Nehru.” Before Kakashi could ask her anything else Shizune came back and ushered them into the Hokage’s office.

Tsunade was crouched over her table in an attempt to put the mess of papers in some semblance of order. She gave Kakashi a weak smile and appeared to be slightly disheveled. “So she is the one you caught spying?” at his nod she continued, “Has she cooperated or been violent?”

“She has been cooperative so far,” Kakashi shrugged.

Turning to the girl in question, “First off, who are you and where do you come from?”

“I am Nehru Kozue of Hidden Moon,” she gave the Hokage a curt bow.

“Moon? Hidden Moon hasn’t been in contact with any other Hidden Village since the founding. You have no papers or headband how do you expect me to believe you?”

“Shinobi of Hidden Moon don’t have passports because we haven’t the need of them, like you said we haven’t made contact with any other village since the founding. As for those little headbands all the other shinobi seem to carry we instead carry tattoos,” she shifted her robes to expose the junction of her neck. Sure enough there was a tattoo of a black eight point star with an upside-down silver crescent moon imbedded within it.

“How do we know that you just didn’t tattoo yourself?” that question came from Kakashi.

“What’s the difference between that and if I just took a headband from a corpse and forged documents to get in? At least I am telling you the truth,” Tsunade blinked at the callous tone of her words.

Taking in a deep breath, “Alright, I will take your word as truth, but why were you spying on Kakashi and his team?”

“I am in search of someone, Hokage-sama. He has been missing for many years and I thought I had located him in this general area. He and his team just happened to come across the area I was scouting,” her voice sounded chagrined at the last statement.

“Who is it that you are looking for? You said yourself that there is little contact between Moon nins and any others.”

“He isn’t exactly a nin of Hidden Moon… he is one of the cardinal Guardians of my village. A fox, about the size of a small pony with nine tails.”

“A fox with nine tails? You’re looking for the demon fox, Kyuubi? What do you want to do with him?” Tsunade was suspicious. With the track record of those who always come to look for Kyuubi she wasn’t sure about how to take this particular point.

“Kyuubi?” Nehru shook her head, “The fox’s name is Kiri…and what I want to do with him is take him home. He has been missing for a little over fifteen years and his absence is sorely noted.”

Tsunade and Kakashi shared a quick look, whether Nehru knew or not her last statement proved that it was Kyuubi who she was looking for. “I believe your Kiri and our Kyuubi are one in the same. He attacked our village and was sealed. I am going to place you under Anbu watch until I can determine whether or not to release you.” She waved them out of the room.

“Wait what did you guys seal him in? It isn’t like anyone was stupid enough to seal him in a human…” the sharp intake of air from the Hokage and the almost imperceptible tensing of Kakashi answered that. “You…did…holy crap, do you know what you have done to both of them?”
