“Dad!” Ginji automatically hugged the taller blonde upon seeing him.

Naruto huffed out a puff of breath upon impact, smiling at his three children. He hugged each of them before glaring at Sachi.

“You said nearest village.” Sachi said defensively.

“Then you should have gone to the next one.” Naruto growled. He sighed. “Did you make contact with anyone in the village?”

Sachi sighed, “A few restaurant owners, the hotel manager, the guards at the gate, and a group in the woods which Miki started talking to.”

“A group? What were their names?”

Rin pulled on her father’s shirt. “Daddy, we saw him.” She mumbled.

“Saw who?” Sachi and Naruto chorused together.

“Dad.” Daisuke stated. “Uchiha Sasuke.”

Naruto’s eyes widened. “And?”

Daisuke shrugged. “Nothing happened.”

Naruto sighed, somewhat in relief. "Well, no damage was done, so let's just get on with life.”

Three months later, Sasuke, Neji, Shino, Kakashi, along with Jiraiya, Shikamaru and Kiba who had tagged along for a mission in Night Country, sat in a cabin like restaurant/hotel relaxing after their mission before going back home. None of them had really changed that much since Naruto’s disappeared. Sasuke's hair was slightly longer, he was obviously taller, and more muscular; Neji's hair was shoulder length, his height and appearance matching his age; Kiba was the same as Sasuke, taller, more muscular, and his hair was slightly longer; Shikamaru's only change in appearance was his height, as well as Shino; Kakashi and Jiraiya hadn't changed a bit.

"Night Country is really nice and peaceful isn't it?" Kakashi asked.

"Yea, but I was hoping for a more eventful mission." Kiba grumbled. "How boring."

"You never now what could happen between now and the time we reach home." Neji told him, the others nodding in agreement.

Childish laughter bellowed from the upper level of the establishment, and Kakashi couldn't help but smile.

A red haired woman bounded down the staircase, an angry expression on her face, they recognized her as Sachi of the Sand who had visited Konoha a few months ago. "I'm going to kill them, where the hell are those two?" She growled. She stomped over to the door and threw it open, only to come face to face with a blonde man clad in black with a mask, and a black haired man wearing a chain-link t-shirt and black sweatpants. "There you are!" She hissed after getting over her surprise.

"Thanks for opening the door for us, Sachi-san." The black haired man smiled as he shifted the grocery bags in his arms.

"Ichi, why are you carrying all the groceries?" Sachi asked as she eyed the blonde.

"He insisted." The blonde mumbled defensively.

"All right, bring those upstairs." Sachi waved towards the stairs. Ichi followed his instructions without hesitation, disappearing up the stairs and into the upper level of the establishment.

Sachi grabbed the blonde's wrist and headed towards the food counter, "Now we can feed the triplets."

"They haven't eaten yet?" He asked.

"No, they wanted to wait so they could eat with their father." She smirked.

"I wish we hadn't taken so long." He mumbled.

"Why did you anyway?" She poked a hole in his shirt. "Run into some trouble?"

"Yes. But we're ok." He assured her.

"Honestly, you worry me sometimes, Naruto." She sighed, shaking her head.

The Leaf-nin froze upon hearing the name.

"I know."

Sachi examined the hole in his shirt. "At least there’s no serious damage."

"Ah, one of them cut that hole, but that's all."

Sachi stopped at the counter and pounded on it, getting the attention of a waitress. "Four ramen." She announced. "One chicken, one beef, one plain, and one shrimp."

The waitress nodded, writing down the order and giving it to the chef.

"So, how many?" The red head asked.

"Only three, Ichi held the groceries and I fought them off." Naruto explained.

"Well aren't you strong." She smiled teasingly.

"Dad!" A red, black, and yellow blur darted across the room and attached to Naruto.

"Hey Ginji, did you behave while I was gone?" He asked, picking the boy up and resting him on his hip.

Ginji wrapped his arms around his father's neck and hugged him. "Yup!"

"You didn't fight with your brother did you?" Naruto asked, raising an eyebrow.

Ginji poked his index fingers together in a Hinata-like gesture. "Only a little." He mumbled. "But Daisuke started it!" He shouted, pointing at the stairs.

Naruto chuckled. "Doesn't he always start it?" He asked, setting the boy back on his feet.

Ginji nodded enthusiastically. "He's just looking for trouble." He huffed.

Naruto smiled, kissing the boy's forehead through his facemask. "Will you help me and Sachi-san with your dinner?"

"OK." The younger blonde smiled brightly up at his father.

Sachi handed the bowl of beef ramen to the dark eyed boy. "This one is yours, take it upstairs and try not to spill it."

Ginji nodded and carefully headed up the stairs, his father smiling after him.

"Yours and Daisuke's." Sachi handed Naruto the plain and shrimp. "And I've got Rin's." She smiled, holding up the chicken. "All right, let's go feed the little monsters." She grinned.

Naruto nodded and they disappeared up the stairs.

"Naruto..." Kiba whispered.

"He's alive." Neji mumbled.

"And he's got three little brats." Jiraiya added, sipping his sake.

"I'm still trying to get over that." Kiba grumbled. "Do you think he saw us?"

"If he did, he didn't acknowledge us." Shikamaru sighed.

"Hi there!"

The Leaf-nin jumped at the sound of Miki's voice right beside their table.

"Hello." Kakashi smiled kindly behind his mask. "Long time-no-see."

She nodded enthusiastically. "How have you been?"

"Fine." Jiraiya nodded, taking another sip of sake.

"Here on a mission?"

"Yes, we just finished one, we're relaxing now." Kiba told her.

"I see." She grinned, bouncing impatiently on her feet making her short hair bounce. "My friends and I are passing through here as well, we're headed towards the Wave Country to visit some people."

"Aren't you a little far from the Wave Country?" Neji asked.

"We just came from Waterfall Country." She explained.

"I see."

The door of the establishment opened, letting in three new guests and a gust of wind. The Leaf-nin automatically recognized them as Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro of the Sand. They were all taller, but other than that they hadn't changed, with the exception of Gaara. Gaara was not only taller, but also more muscular, and his skin was slightly darker.

"Miki!" Sachi's voice traveled down the stairs. "Where did you run off to now?" She stomped down the stairs, and froze when she saw the three Sand-nin. "Crap." She mumbled before darting up the stairs, Temari following after her quickly.

"What are you three doing here?" Sasuke nodded his head toward Gaara and Kankuro.

The two men walked over to the table. "Looking for that red head that Temari ran after." Kankuro answered.

"Did she commit a crime?" Kakashi asked.

Kankuro shook his head. "No, we're not exactly sure why we're after her, we're just following orders."

"Leave Sachi-san alone." Miki pouted, stamping her foot.

Niro, Ichi, and Naruto came barreling down the stairs. "They jumped out the window, we're going to help Sachi." Ichi announced.

"Miki, help Kana watch the kids." Niro mumbled as he passed her. The three men barged out the door, slamming it closed behind them.

"Let's go." Kankuro mumbled as Miki ran up the stairs.

"We'll help," Sasuke announced, standing from his chair, the other Leaf-nin followed suit.

Gaara and Kankuro nodded their thanks as the group headed out the door. Gaara, Kankuro and the Leaf-nin found the other group in a small clearing not far from the restaurant/hotel, the three men stood in fighting stances in front of the red haired woman.

"We mean no harm, we're simply following orders." Temari assured. The three men relaxed only slightly.

"Why should we trust you?" Niro huffed angrily. "Attacking a woman in the middle of the night, it doesn't sound very peaceful to me."

Ichi nodded in agreement. "I do not believe we will be able to settle this peacefully I'm afraid." Ichi told her.

"So be it." Kankuro grumbled, preparing to un-strap Karasu.

The plug in Gaara's gourd began to wiggle, about to pop out and unleash its sand.

"Wait!" Naruto raised a hand.

The plug stopped suddenly, Gaara's eyes narrowing. "What?"

"Kit's right, let's try and settle this peacefully first," Sachi said, putting her hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Gaara."

"Since when do family hunt to kill each other?" Niro grumbled.

Naruto smacked the side of the blue haired man's head.

Niro glared. "Ouch!" He barked.

"Play nice you two." Ichi smiled.

"He smacked me!" Niro shouted childishly, pointing an accusing finger at the blonde.

Naruto rolled his eyes.

"You started it." Ichi pointed out.

Sachi made a fist, her eyes closed, and a snarl on her face. "Cut It Out!" She bellowed punching each of them on the head. "I Am Not Your Mother! You're all in your twenties for Kami's sake!"

Niro rubbed his head with both hands. “Damn it woman.” He grumbled.

Ichi stood blinking rapidly, one hand on his head and the other balancing himself against Naruto.

Naruto rubbed his head in mock-hurt before standing strait and looking completely unfazed.

“Damn your stamina.” Niro growled at the blonde.

“Stop!” Sachi smacked Niro’s head again. She cleared her throat and turned back to the Sand-nin. “Let’s see what we can do.” She stated calmly.

Niro looked over at the group that had followed Gaara and Kankuro. “Leaf-nin.” He said.

There was a ‘pop’ and a cloud of smoke, and Naruto was gone.

“What the…” Kiba looked around. “Where’d he go?”

“He left.” Ichi told them. “Leave him be.”

“Naruto is our friend! We’ve been looking for him for eleven years!” Kiba shouted. “We’ve finally found him, and you’re telling us to let him go?”

“That was Naruto?” Gaara asked monotone, an eyebrow rose in suspicion.

“OK, how many people does he know?” Sachi sighed. “This is so aggravating.”

Niro huffed. “I am not a baby-sitter.” He mumbled angrily, crossing his arms over his chest.

Sachi smacked his head again. “That is completely irrelevant!” She hissed. “And stop complaining, you big baby!”

Ichi pulled Sachi a few steps away from the blue haired man. “I think that’s enough, you wouldn’t want to give him a concussion, would you? I think it’s scrambled in there enough as it is.” He told her. She nodded in agreement.

Niro nodded, then paused to think about that last statement. “Oi! What’s that supposed to mean, you bastard?” He said shaking a fist at the other man.

“Delayed reaction.” Sachi mumbled, nodding.

“Exhibit A.” Ichi grinned, motioning towards the green-eyed man who stood growling at the two.

Temari cleared her throat. “Can we?” She asked.

“Ah yes…” Sachi began. There was suddenly three ‘pop’s and a large cloud of smoke, once it cleared the Sand-nin and Leaf-nin realized that the last three had disappeared.

“They gave us the slip.” Kankuro mumbled.

“Those sneaky bastards, they’re Naruto’s friends all right.” Kiba growled, fists shaking at his sides.

“We should get back to Konoha as soon as possible. Hokage-sama is going to want to hear about this.” Kakashi mumbled into his mask, the shock of seeing his ex-student still hadn’t left him yet.

The others nodded and they headed home.
