“Good to see you again, Sasuke-kun” Orochimaru snickered at the young raven.
“I can’t exactly say the same” Sasuke growled as his gaze shifted from Orochimaru to Naruto then back.
“I see you want my little pet back. But he was so much fun.” Naruto was shivering from fear as the snake man continued.
“He isn’t a pet and he isn’t yours” Sasuke shouted.
“Oh but those scars on his cheeks,” Orochimaru pointed towards the cowering boy’s cheeks where the whisker like scars stood. “Are my marks.”
Sasuke was about to lunge at the snake man before Kakashi held an arm in front of him to stop him.
“Sasuke, I want you to take Naruto and run” he said so only Sasuke could hear.
“But what about you?”
“Don’t worry about me” Kakashi said while quickly transferring Naruto onto Sasuke’s back and giving him a reassuring smile. “Just get him out of here.”
Sasuke watched as Kakashi pulled out a blade and got into a fighting stance. Kabuto stood in front of Orochimaru as Kakashi lunged at the man. Both men were knocked into the chamber halls while Orochimaru stood in the door way.
“Sasuke-kun, just hand the boy over and everything will be fine. You can even stay with him here” Orochimaru smirked while extending an expecting hand.
“I’m not handing him over to you!” Sasuke shouted as the cowering boy on his back hid his head into the raven’s shoulder.
Before another word could be said, Orochimaru was on the ground with someone on top of him.
“Iruka!” Naruto shouted as he slipped out of Sasuke’s hold and stumbled over to the burnet man who was slightly sitting up.
“Get off!” Orochimaru hissed while standing up and dropping the man onto the ground by Naruto who stood weakly.
Without thinking, Sasuke lunged at Orochimaru, causing the man to land back on the ground with an ‘oof’.
“Run, Naruto!” he shouted while rolling on the ground, struggling against the pale man.
Naruto got ready to run before his knees gave out and he fell. Iruka got up and grabbed the boy by the hand. Both began to run and were half way up the stairs before a scream of pain was heard. Naruto stopped dead in his tracks.
“Naruto, we have to keep going” Iruka ushered as he tugged on the blonde’s hand.
Naruto slipped his hand out and ran down the stairs to see Kakashi holding his arm, which was bleeding, Sasuke panting beside him and Kabuto and Orochimaru across from them, Kabuto holding a bloody dagger in his hand.
“Sasuke” Naruto’s voice came out raspy.
No one noticed the blond as he stood there and watched as Kabuto took aim at the tired raven. Blood splattered as everyone’s eyes widened. Sasuke stared, wide eyed as Naruto stood in front of him, blood dripping to the ground. Naruto coughed up some blood as Kabuto slipped the blade out of his chest.
“Is Sasuke ok?” Naruto asked, turning to look at the stunned Uchiha with a soft smile.
“Naruto” Sasuke whispered as said boy fainted and fell to the ground.
Sasuke caught Naruto as he fell. Naruto just saved him.
“Sasuke, not the time to blank off. Get him out of here fast or else he might not make it” Kakashi yelled as he held his blade against Kabuto’s, pushing the other away from the Uchiha who picked Naruto up bridal style and ran off.
“This way, Uchiha-san” Iruka said as Sasuke reached the top of the stairs.
Sasuke nodded and followed the burnet man out of the castle and towards the nearby fields.
“We can hide here until your companion rejoins us” Iruka informed as Sasuke laid Naruto down. “We should take care of his wounds” Iruka said again while taking out a first aid kit from his pouch and began disaffecting and bandaging the many wounds on the blond.
“How long do you think it’ll take for your friend to get back here?”
“Not long” Sasuke and Iruka looked to see Kakashi smiling down at them.
“That was fast” Sasuke said calmly as the silver haired sat down next to Iruka.
“Yes, well I knew we should hurry out of here” Kakashi smiled and looked over to Iruka who blushed. “Well aren’t you a cute lil dolphin” Kakashi grinned as Iruka blushed more.
“Um well… I think I’ll take Naruto and sleep over there” Iruka said while grabbing Naruto and walking over through the large crops.
“You know you could get in trouble for coming onto him?” Sasuke said, raising a slender brow at the older man who simply shrugged.
“I’m not the only one” Kakashi said while giving Sasuke a sly look.
Sasuke flushed and turned around.
“Shut up and go to sleep. We need to go early so we can reach the boat in time” he said while laying down and cling his eyes, dozing off to a light sleep.
