AN: *Wakes up and grabs pot of coffee. Pours it on self* GAH!!! IT BURNS!!!!! Okay well we are nearing the Sasori fight…oh and Deidara will be fought too…I just like Sasori better…and besides Deidara is going to have his own awesome fight later. Also in that fight Deidara says something like “Pop is dead, my style in super flat”…I think…anyone know what that means? I read online that they're diferent styles of manga but…I read it online so it could be wrong. Also I learned the old man's name whoo! Also I'm finding myself contradicted by the anime a lot. Most of what I write comes from the Manga so there are some things (like the Sasori Kankuro fight) that I just fill in. Then I go and watch the anime…of Kuroari could fit Hiroku inside it's chest…whoops…hope that isn't upsetting anyone.

“Gaara!” Kankuro shot up at the mention of Gaara's name.

 

“LAY DOWN!!!” Sakura yelled punching the puppet ninja. “You're not going to make it very far if you just run out of the room.” She continued calmly. “Now tell us what happened.” She waited expectantly but heard nothing. “I said tell us…oops.” Sakura had knocked Kankuro back out. “Uh…Temari tell us what happened.

 

Temari nodded. “The Akatsuki showed up. That blonde guy with the exploding statues flew in and started blowing people up. Gaara fought him…and he lost. We went after them and Sasori was waiting. Next thing I know I'm lying on the ground with a hole through me. Kankuro isn't doing much better. And Gaara…” Her voice broke and she shook her head. “…was gone.”

 

Hinata patted the girl's back and let her cry on her shoulder quietly. “It's alright. We'll take it from here.” Temari nodded.

 

“We're not out of the woods yet. I need to make an antidote for the rest of the poison in their bodies.” Sakura said standing. “I need someone to bring me some supplies.”

 

“You remind me of the slug girl.” Chiyo said as two chunin ran off for the supplies.

 

“She is my sensei.” Sakura said with a smile.

 

“Time flows on. Eh, sis?” Ebizou said with a grin.

 

“We got a young girl acting like Tsunade and a guy that looks like Konoha's White Fang, seems like it's going backwards.” Chiyo said with a girlish giggle.

Deidara and Sasori stood outside the Akatsuki's hideout. Deidara made a handsign and the boulder blocking the entrance lifted. “You're late. Get prepared, now.” A tranparent figure told them simply.

 

“Wasn't my fault the Jinchuuriki was pretty tough.” Deidara said with a shrug before falling to his knees crying. “And he called my art a chicken.”

 

The figure rolled his…interesting eyes and made several handsigns. A giant statue erupted from the ground. Sasori and Deidara didn't seem fazed in the least as the multi-eyed behemoth towered over them. They simply took off their hats and cast them aside. “Assemble!” The transparent figures of the other Akatsuki appeared on each finger of the statue. Deidara and his partner wasted no time and leapt to their positions. “Now, let's begin.”

Tsunade had a bad feeling…not like the drug bad feeling…badder. “Shizune, heads of tails?” Tsunade asked holding up a coin.

 

“Huh?” Shizune asked looking up from the paperwork.

 

“Heads, or tails?” Tsunade repeated.

 

“What happens if I lose?” Shizune asked nervously. Tsunade had tricked into some scary situations like this.

 

“If you win all the money in my pocket goes into the village's savings. If I win, I get all your money.” Tsunade said simply.

 

Shizune pondered this for a moment. She didn't have much money but Tsunade did carry large amounts at all times. “Okay. Uh…heads.”

 

Tsunade flipped the coin and caught it. She flipped it onto the back of her other hand and uncovered it. “Tails. Shizune get me…Asuma's team.”

 

“Why?” Shizune asked surprised that Tsunade wasn't doing a full body cavity search to make sure she got all her winnings.

 

“I just won a bet. That's not a good omen. I'm sending them as backup for team Kakashi.” Tsunade said with a sigh. “I hope I'm wrong.”

Kankuro opened one eye and scanned for the volatile kunoichi. She was nowhere to be seen so he started to reposition himself on the bed. The next thing he knew he got punched in the face a second time. “Ow, dammit! I was rolling over, psycho-bitch!”

 

“You better have the wrong person.” Came Baki's voice. “Now then let me finish what I was trying to say earlier before you knocked me out. Ahem, “It's too dangerous. The Akatsuki have him there's no way you can get him alone. Let's assemble a team in case we have to fight them.” I don't think I got that far before you punched me.” Baki looked down to see that he had knocked Kankuro out too.

“What a drag.” Shikamaru whined. “You already sent the super team after them. What do you need us for?”

 

“Shikamaru watch it! Trust me you don't want to piss her off!” Ino said grabbing her teammate by the earring.

 

“Ah! Ow, the ear! Ino let go!” Shikamaru said trying to pry himself free without ripping his earlobe off.

 

“Shikamaru I had thought you would go willingly. I guess I'll send Gai's team. They'll have to tell Temari how you were too lazy to visit her even after she was injured.” Tsunade said with a shrug.

 

“Temari's been injured?!” Shikamaru asked grabbing Tsunade by the hair.

 

“Ow! Dammit! She's alive! Her life's in no danger!” Tsunade said trying to untangle the lazy ninja from her.

 

“Why didn't you tell me sooner?! How long have you known?! Oh well doesn't matter! I'm coming Temari!” Shikamaru said that whole paragraph in under a second and ran out of the room leaving the rest of his squad gaping.

 

“I've never seen Shikamaru move like that.” Ino said staring wide eyed at the doorway.

 

“I didn't know Shikamaru could move like that.” Choji said with his jaw still hanging.

 

“I can't believe Shikamaru's not butter.” Everyone turned to Asuma and raised an eyebrow. “Were we done saying random stuff about Shikamaru?” Asuma blinked before grabbing his team and dashing after his student.

“Can you tell me where you fought Sasori?” Kakashi asked when Kankuro had once again regained consciousness.

 

“No need. You guys got my puppets, right?” Baki nodded. “When Kuroari grabbed him I tore off some of that cloak with the clouds or flowers or whatever."

 

“Clouds.” Hinata said firmly. From her seat next to Temari.

 

“Yeah whatever. Anyw…”

 

“She's right clouds.” Sasuke said from the corner of the room.

 

“Okay…so Gaara's sent should lead you to Deidara and…”

 

“How'd you get flowers? They don't even look like flowers.” Naruto said raising an eyebrow.

 

“Cloak there.” Kankuro said pointing at his puppets. “With clouds. If you need me I'll be unconscious.” Kankuro reached over and grabbed Temari's fan. “Can I borrow this? Thanks.” And knocked himself out with it.

 

“Will you people quit knocking out my patient?!” Sakura growled as she entered the room.

 

“He did it to himself.” Naruto said defensively. “His eyes went jackal yellow he started speaking in backward Latin about flowers.”

 

“Naruto…shut up!” Sakura punched the blonde right between the eyes. “Anyway I've made eight antidotes. One each for you two and one for each of us when we find Sasori…you know what I've noticed. If this poison is so deadly. Why didn't he use it back in Konoha? They could have gone right through our forces and got Naruto like it was nothing. It's like he was holding back.”

 

“Yeah, he was like a whole other person in this fight. I don't thing Shikamaru could have stopped him this time. It's like he didn't want to kill people.” Temari mused. “But he was using a technique he once used to take down an entire country. It doesn't make since.”

 

“Maybe Itachi told him to hold back, because he didn't want to destroy his old village.” Sasuke said from the corner. Everyone spun around to face him. “I was kidding. There has to be an explanation.”

 

“What if you're right?” Hinata asked looking up. Everyone gaped at her. “I don't think he is but it's the best theory I've heard so far.”

 

“Not possible. That's as likely as me crying over his corpse, you been getting into that “painkiller” again?” Sasuke asked raising an eyebrow. These last few years had really helped him when it came to talking about his brother.

 

“Just a thought.” Hinata said with a shrug.

 

“Well psychotic theories aside. Kuchiyose no Jutsu!” Kakashi slammed his palm down and summoned his dogs.

 

“Naruto long time no see.” Pakkun said with a wave.

 

“Hey Pakkun. You haven't changed a bit.” Naruto said with a grin.

 

“Well that's dog years for ya.” The pug said with a shrug.

 

“What?”

 

“Uh…hey look a scent.” Pakkun sniffed the cloth Kakashi was holding out.

 

“Find this guy and report back.” Kakashi said wondering about the dog years thing himself.

 

“Aye, aye, my pointy haired friend.” The dogs shot off startling several medical ninja.

 

“And now we play the waiting game.” Kakashi said sitting down.

 

“I hate the waiting game.” Naruto grumbled.
