Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Loveless Suna ❯ Chapter 9 ( Chapter 9 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Alright next chapters up, but I got to by honest and tell you that I'm not totally content with it. But after rereading and altering it a couple of times this is the best I could do. So I do hope you enjoy it at least a little.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
“… that way you just have to get more and more distant and then…” Temari was busy explaining the plan she came up with yesterday evening. I looked at her as if she had grown a second head, but she was doing a fine job ignoring my look, even if I was certain that she had seen it.
When Sasuke walked in she absurdly stopped with her rattling and got a serious expression on her face. I saw them having an unexpressed conversation before Temari nodded and turned back to me.
“I better go and see if my dear little brother isn't killing some innocent ninja's.” She excused herself before hopping the room out. I could clearly hear her brainstorming and shook my head before giving Sasuke my full attention.
“Have you been able to accepte it?” He asked going straight to the point. My mood change quickly and sadly I looked at my hands, which were laying in my lap.
“I have decided to accept my destiny, since that's the only thing I can do.” I started looking back up and decided that I was coating Neji. “And it isn't so bad here, however, I am going to miss my family and friends, but I guess it's the point that I make them here.” I said blushing at the double meaning. “So you can presume that Naruto's plan is working.” I tried changing the subject.
“Ah, is Gaara already kissing you're feet?” The Uchiha smirked and I stuck my tongue out.
“Gaara isn't kissing my feet.” I defended the Kazekage. “And I'm certain that Naruto wants to keep it that way.” I continued my pled and now got a real smile back.
“You're certainly just as stubborn as my kitsune.” He said and I squealed all of a sudden to his surprise.
“You called him YOUR kitsune! That's so kawaii!” His smile disappeared and he carefully took a step backwards. “Hehe, sorry…” I mumbled. I could read the word `fan-girls' on his face.
The Uchiha quickly recovered himself and opened his mouth to say something back, but a large explosion outside interrupted him.
Stunned, I got off my bed and rushed as fast as my side allowed it to the window. Just behind the Hokage tower I could see a large cloud of smoke forming and when I turned back to Sasuke, he leaped passed my through the window the roof up.
“Stay here!” He ordered before leaving me alone to protect his village. I watched him, seeing the distance between us grow and then remembered the unexpressed conversation with Temari.
“They had been expecting this.” I mumbled uncertain and watched sand rise to the sky catching a dozen kunai in the act. “Is this the reason that Gaara came to Konoha?” I wondered while Ino and Neji were jumping past me.
-
Now I also noticed the noise in the hallway. Curious, I opened my door and saw several of the medical staff running passed me. `It must be serious.' I decided and wanted to return to the window when I noticed the door in front me open.
A little boy about five years old appeared and watched with fright at what was. When he saw me, he looked almost hopeful back. I immediately understood his pled and walked over to him. To my luck I only got run over twice before I reached him.
“Hey, are you alright?” I asked friendly and to my surprise he flew straight in my arms. I felt my clothing getting drenched and gently pushed the boy back in his room. “Don't worry; everything's going to be fine.” I put him at rest and saw his little face look up. “What's you're name?”
“Souta.” He answered with a high voice while I closed the door behind me.
“Hello Souta, I'm Shizuka.”
“You're not leaving me?” He whispered so quietly that I almost couldn't understand him.
“No, why would I leave?” I asked confused caressing his brown locks.
“Mummy and daddy left.” He said sobbing and I felt my heart break.
“Oh, what happened to them?” I asked trying to keep him talking.
“The Hokage `sob' needed them.” He continued. From his sobbing I presumed that his parents died on a mission.
“They did that to protect you, because they love you.” Souta looked hopeful up and I continued. “Now it's time for you to show them that they raised a good boy and stop crying. You do want to make them proud, don't you?” I wiped the tears away with my thumb and was glad they didn't get replaced by new ones.
“Yes, proud!” He almost creepy changed his emotions. A determined expression appeared, but quickly disappeared again. “But they're strong, I always here. Kunai always picking on me.” I deciphered that he got wounded during kunai practice and watched him hid his face again.
“That's alright; if you don't succeed the first time then you must try again until you do succeed.” I mothered him further. “You don't think that the Hokage went through practice without wounds when she was you're age.” The little boy looked back up with large eyes before a smile appeared on his face.
But before he could say something back there was second explosion, but now in the hallway followed by an earthquake. Frightened he crawled back against me, but after the earthquake I gently pushed him off me.
“Stay here, I'm going to see what's going on.” I whispered with a reassuring smile and he nodded looking at me with tear-stained eyes. His hands let go of my clothing and directly pulled the blanked of his bed against him. I gave him another reassuring smile before opening the door a little so I could spy in the hallway.
To my surprise the hallway was almost empty except a couple of body parts that stoke out of a crumbled wall. Holding my breath I ignored the body parts and opened the door entirely. Once I stepped out of the room I noticed that the next room was split in two.
“What happened?” I mumbled stunned before discovering a couple surviving behind me. Then to complete my shock I heard a dog bark and watched how a big white dog jumped out of nowhere next to me.
-
“Hinata, Shino!” I heard Kiba yell from on Akamaru back.
“Kiba?” I questioned to boy on top and he turned before looking down on me.
His eyes took my face in and I got a sign of recognizing. “Shizuka, not?” He asked and I nodded stunned.
“Kiba-kun!” Hinata timid voice interrupted us and I watched her and Shino running towards us.
“Hinata, Shino! Are you alright?” The dog lover asked worried and the Hyuuga gave him reassuring smile where after her eyes slide to me.
“Shizuka-chan, are you also alright?” She asked polite before something behind me catch her attention. I twisted myself around and saw Souta with his tear-stained eyes looking at me.
“Shizuka!” He shouted with fright and flew himself back into my arms. I pulled him close against me before turning back to the three nin's, who were watching us with surprised faces.
“How did you know my name?” I asked them and I saw Hinata's face enlighten. “That dance with the Kazekag made you really popular and since you were Neji `date' it didn't take long to figure out who you were.” She made me clear and I nodded accepting her explanation.
“But what's going on here?” I asked ogling concerned the hole next to me and noticed Hinata eyes glance at Shino before answering me.
“I think its best that we first evacuate everyone and then I'll tell you everything.” She offered and I nodded before we got disturbed by a couple of Medici. They started to make an evacuating plan with the three ninja while I tried to comfort the little boy, who was becoming an extra limp of mine.
“Shizuka-chan, would you lead the ones who can still walk outside through the emergency exit on the other side?” Hinata asked after the plan was formed. I nodded and started to gather my first group.
With five wounded patients I walked to the other side and saw the door that Hinata had meant. I thanked Kami that Shino directly arrived with his group, because I certainly wouldn't have gotten that heavy door open by myself. So with the Aburame's help I eventually succeeded in opening the door and we started to lead are two groups outside.
With only two patients left Shino quickly retreated to get the next one that Kiba had prepared while I led the last two through the door. I also tried to persuade Souta in leaving, but he didn't dare to leave my side, which he was holding on with dear life.
-
”Well, isn't this handy?” I heard a voice said all of a sudden above me. Searching I looked up and saw to my surprised the black haired woman who was the reason I was here. But this time she was accompanied by two men.
“Shino!” I yelled at the ninja, who was making his way toward me with his second group and the bug lover quickly shielded me from my attacker.
“You know them?” He asked for information.
“She's the one who attacked me. I think that she is ordinary genin, but I have never seen the other two.” I said with a nod indicating the woman while pushing Souta behind me.
“Leave bug-boy to me.” The thicker of the two men laughed while jumping down in front us. The Aburame glanced at me and I understood that he was giving me the opportunity to escape with the other patients. Quickly I pushed Souta in the arms of an old woman.
“Go, Souta leave!” The boy looked frightened back at me and I gave him smile.
“Now it's my turn to protect you.” I said reassuring and nodded to the old woman, who quickly pulled the little boy with her to safety.
-
When all the patients had escaped, I turned looking at the fighting ninja's. I just saw how Shino was cut in two before changing into his bugs. Hinata and Kiba had also heard my call and were now helping their teammate. But to my fear I noticed that the two men weren't alone anymore, making the three ninja's really outnumbered and on top of that the black haired woman had disappeared.
My thoughts were disturbed when a doctor pushed a heavy wounded man in my arms. He ordered me to carry him outside and who was I to disobey him when the man was already in my arms. As fast as the man's wounds allowed I pulled him outside where two other men directly released me of my duty.
I turned back to the ruins of the hospital with the idea of getting more patients out, but a kunai stopped me and when I looked up I saw the black haired woman block my way in.
“Let's finish our fight.” The woman snored. My eyes narrowed dangerously while I sign to everyone behind me that they had to make their escape.
“Shizuka!” I heard Souta's voice all of a sudden and when I turned to him I saw him running towards me with the old woman in trail.
`I thought that he would already be a couple of streets away from here.' I thought frightened “Souta, stop!” I screamed forgetting the woman, who would have prayed for my mistake. She started to throw her kunais at me and I only noticed that the fight had started when I felt the first kunai penetrating my wounded side. Dead struck I looked at the weapon in my side and felt the pain return with a vengeance.
`And here I was happy with being all drugged up by those pain-killers.' I complained in my head while avoiding the other kunais.
When she stopped with her attacks I pulled biting my lip the kunai out of me and took the opportunity to us it as my own weapon. But before I could even consider an attack, she started again. I could just miss her weapons by falling and rolling to my right, left wasn't an option since Souta was there.
“Oh, I'm out of kunais.” I heard the blackhead snore all of a sudden. I would have celebrated if she wasn't smirking at me. Confused I kept an eye on her, but got my mistake when I felt a presence behind me.
`She lured me in a trap!' I barked to myself and lost my conscience with one knock on the head.
