Okay, next chapter's up!
Thanks for reviewing:
Kida of the Wolves: I understand your point and I also have stopped reading stories when a pregnance ruined everything. And I have to say you made me realize you're right, it would destroy the whole plot. But there is something I want in my story and I have an idea how that could work.
Cecile: Merci beaucoup et ici tu as la suite.

“Eho's underling has been signaled trying to steal something from the Uchiha compound.”
“What! Dreadlock?” A nod told me I was right.
“Whatever she's planning, she's bringing everything together.”
Gaara sighed and leaned backwards. He seemed to be thinking something through, making me not want to say anything that could disturb him. Then he bowed forward and looked at me.
“I forbid you to leave the tower for the time being.”
“What?!” I was shocked. I had thought maybe an extra bodyguard, but no imprisoning. “Eho doesn't even know that I have Uchiha-chakra!”
“We don't know that. It's possible she still has some spies in the village.”
“An extra guard…”
“No!”
“But…” He gave me a look that told me to stop. “Fine!” Angry I twirled around and left the office stamped my feet with rage. Grumpy I stalked to the kitchen to get something to eat. Opening the door I found Temari preparing herself some meat with a lot of spices. “Don't burn yourself.” I walked closer to inspect the spice-bottles next to the frying pan.
“Shizuka, I thought you would be sleeping be now.” She said with surprise in her voice.
“I'm eating something first. A grumbling stomach isn't going to let me sleep.” I walked to the refrigerator and opened it to look for something eatable.
“Gaara's also going to bed?” With two eggs in my hand I closed the refrigerator realizing I had completely forgotten about making him catch up some sleep.
“I'm mad at him.” With a sigh Temari turned to me while turning of the fire and moving the frying pan.
“What did he do this time?”
“He has forbidden me to leave the tower.” A frown settled on the blonde's face.
“Why?”
“Because…,” I realized I couldn't tell her anything involved with the Eho case, “he's too protective!” I covered in the end.
“Knowing my brother, he probably has a good reason.” I suspected she knew it had something to do the case.
“Maybe, but I still think he's overreacting.” I pouted grabbing a clean frying pan to fry my eggs.

After lunch I retreated back to my room and had a short shower before crawling in bed. A quarter of an hour later I was half asleep but woke up again when I heard the door open.
“Shizuka.” Gaara had sneaked to my bed and was now standing beside it. I turned around and cranked an eye open.
“Hmm.” I protested. I was too tired.
“About earlier…” He stopped as my hand waved in the air before him. I grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him down. A little clumsy I kissed his lips and whispered:
“Come to bed.” I could feel his eyes scan my body before he dropped his gourd and quickly removed his coat and pants. He slipped next to me and pulled me close. In a minute I was completely gone.
-
I had woken up ten minutes ago but didn't make any move to get up. Gaara was still in a deep sleep and he was holding me so close, I knew he would wake up if I tried to leave. That's why I was, starting from the moment I woke up, enjoying watching his sleeping face. I had discovered he had the cutest twitch, he kept opening and closing his mouth a little and making a pouting face.
`I wonder what he's dreaming about?' I closed my eyes again and snuggled into his chest. As a reflex he tightened his arms and for a moment I thought I had woken him up, but his breath slowed down again. I had almost fallen asleep again when I felt him stir. “Good evening.” I whispered when those blue-green orbs got into view.
“Evening.” He nuzzled my neck and started planting kisses.
“Gaara…” I moaned anticipating and he didn't let me down.
-
An hour and three quarters later we were finally out of bed; at least Gaara was gone while I was sitting on top of it with my rubber balls. When we had just woken up I had stuck my head outside and had been greeted by cold air caressing my cheeks. A little surprised we had slept that long I looked up at the moon and was reminded of the Gaara at the chuunin-exam who had been illuminated by the moonlight. Sighing I leaned my head on my arms and looked at the sky.
“What are you sighing about?” I had felt the redhead behind me, but I hadn't heard the bathroom door open again. He had been sneaky!
“Nothing.” Was my answer and after a small pause I felt him plant a kiss on my forehead. Hearing him leave again, I had decided that the best thing for me would be to continue my training since I wasn't allowed outside thanks to Gaara's over-protectiveness.
`But I still think he's overreacting!' I huffed dropping the ball I was holding and stretched my fingers. `Nobody knows about Sasuke's chakra inside me.' I picked the ball up again and joggled it to my other hand. `And the only way anybody could have found out was by eavesdropping at the Kazekage's office.' Instead of joggling the ball back I squeezed it. `They're always a lot of chakras surrounding Gaara's office…' I had planted the seed of doubt in myself. `But that office has to be protected by several jutsus.' I decided in the end while joggling the ball again.

After a short night, I had to wake up since Temari needed my help; I was sitting on the blonde's balcony. She had given me the list with guests for her wedding and the assignment of making the seat-arrangements. Every name was followed by a couple of other names with a plus or a minus behind, plus for who should definitely be near and a minus for who had to be kept away. My job also was to decide which would be the best tables' positions.
“I've been wondering.” Temari looked up from her flower magazine. I could only imagine how expensive those flowers were going to be since we were in a desert. “After the wedding, are you going to Konoha or is Shikamaru going to live here?” A sheepish smile didn't promise a satisfying answer.
“Well, since I have a higher position here in Suna than Shikamaru in Konoha, I want Shikamaru to move here… but Tsunade-sama isn't really for losing her best tactic.” I could understand both their positions.
“But if Shikamaru want to come, she can't stop him, can she?”
“No, she can't. But Shika had a lot of respect for her even if he doesn't show it.”
“And he probably finds moving to troublesome.” I mutter not wanting to get too serious. It worked since the blonde laughed.
“We're working on an arrangement and either way the wedding is happening here. I want Gaara to announce us husband and wife.” The last was said in a dreamy way. I knew that would be the final okay sign from her two brothers.
“Does Gaara have to bind every couple in holy matrimony?” I couldn't remember seeing him doing that even once since I've been here.
“No, those holy men at the temple do it most of the time and the elders are in charge of the Kazekage's marriage.” She winked at me and continued. “The Kazekage also has the right but mostly only does it for his family and close friends.”
“I'm sure Gaara is dying to marry you guys.” Temari blushed a little. She couldn't stop smiling, she looked so happy.
“Temari!” Gaara's voice surprised us and I frowned hearing his displeased tone.
“Here!” The blonde yelled back and quickly the redhead appeared in our view.
“Tem…” He stopped as his eyes looked surprised at me, then they narrowed.
“Get inside!” He hissed angry.
“Wha…” I couldn't even get one word out; he was already pulling me up and pushed me indoors.
“I told you to stay inside!” He really didn't sound pleased.
“I'm not even allowed on the balcony?” I was shocked and a little scared. He seemed ready to kill someone.
“A balcony is an easy place to get attacked.”
“How?”
“Attackers can easily jump down from the roof…”
“Aren't those covered with ANBUs?”
“Not every crook.” I sighed.
“You really are too protective.”
“I have to be!” He stated and I gave him a sarcastic look.
“Don't overdo it.” My voice was calm and held a warning sound. He was starting to suffocate me. It was fun to be cherished, but he was going too far. “You can't imprison me.” The blue-green eyes widened a little. He hadn't even realized it had come this far.
“Trust her.” Temari had waited till now to enter the room to help me. Her brother glanced at her and after they had an unspoken conversation he nodded.
“Fine, with Temari, you can sit on the balcony.”
“And…” The blonde pushed.
“You can go out, but like before with a guard and you have to inform me where you are going.” I immediately agreed knowing this was the best deal I could get. “Now I need to talk to Temari in private.” He changed the subject as he narrowed his eyes at his sister. I realized that this was the reason he had come and excused me before slipping out.

Aimlessly I walked around the tower only to end up in my own room. Sighing I dropped down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. `This is boring!' Annoyed I straightened again and picked up my rubber ball. I continued my training and after two hours I did it. Finally the rubber cracked and I let out a squeal of delight. I picked up the second ball and after a couple of times it split again. I was literally jumping up and down when suddenly I felt something from behind me. In a second I had turned around but nobody was there. Slowly I walked towards the window and popped my head outside. I realized pretty quickly that the window was too small to see a lot. Rethreading my head I watched surprised how some kind of sword suddenly cut the sand, making the window larger. A little late I realized I had to be alert and tried to step backwards but couldn't. Shocked I looked down at my body and noticed chakra wires were enabling my movements. Before I could do anything I got pulled through the sand and dragged to the roof. The skin of my shoulder had been rubbed open by the sand, making me wince when I landed on it. Raising my eyelids I searched for my attacker and my eyes widened surprised.
“You!” I snared trying to get up but the wires got tightened and I fell back into my begin position. Out of the corner of my eye I watched the black sandals step closer and glared upwards in the ANBU's mask.
“Shizuka-sama…” This was the first time I heard his voice and I immediately noted the soberness in it. I always thought he would be loose like Kakashi, the way he always teased me, but now I knew it had been just to keep an eye on me. He stopped in front of me and dragged me onto my feet only to tumble on his chest as I lost conscious.
