I woke up to an empty bed and sighed missing my extra blanket. Gaara was good at keeping me warm. Snuggling closer in the sheets I tried to get back to sleep but it didn't work. Against my will I got up and disappeared into the bathroom with fresh clothes. Once dressed I left the quarters and went looking for someone, anyone. I got lucky Sai found me. He ran towards me, lecturing about how I shouldn't be walking around by myself.

“Gaara's still being overprotective?” I asked knowing the answer already.

“Shouldn't he?” The raven asked back to my surprise.

“Eh,” I didn't know how to react, “what do you mean?” I asked confused.

“He loves you,” I blushed hearing him say that, it must be very obvious if even he noticed it, “and protecting the one you love is a must.” Sai nodded at his own explanation and I frowned.

“Protecting is okay, but overprotecting is too much.” I stated and now the artist frowned.

“Where is the line between those two?” I sighed thinking about how to explain that.

“When the person in question starts feeling restricted.” I came up with.

“Then Sakura-chan is overprotective since she's restricting me all the time.” I couldn't help but laugh.

“I think that more for your own best will. You should see it in the context of romantic love.” Sai nodded taking everything in I was saying. “But then again, you could be right about Sakura.” The raven's eyes widened surprised and I hoped he got the hint. Smiling I skipped ahead of him and absurdly stopped when I looked out the window. From where I was standing I could see two figures walking in the hallway on the other side of the plaza. Gaara was calmly passing us with Shizi besides him. But the worst thing was that he was smiling and was actually having a conversation with her.

“That's something you don't see every day.” Sai mumbled completely forgotten what we were talking about before. “Shizi-san is probably the only one who could get the Kazekage out of a meeting with her father.” He continued and got a glare from me. He gave me an apologizing look but he clearly had no idea what he had said wrong.

“Let's greet them.” I forced a smile on my face, turned around and retreated my steps.

“I thought we were going to eat something?” Sai mumbled a little disappointed but followed me any way. When we reached my room again, Gaara saw us and my smile got less forced. As he speeded up all the force was gone and I was radiating when he wrapped his arms around me.

“You slept well?” He asked and kissed me not waiting for an answer.

“Great, except there was someone missing when I woke up.” I pouted playfully but my redhead thought I meant it. I quickly kissed those thoughts out of his head and turned to Shizi in the end.

“Good morning, Shizi-san.” I bowed politely as I saw her jump in character. She had the same smile on as the one she gave me yesterday.

“Good morning.” She answered.

“So, what are you doing out of the Tsuchikage's office?” I turned back to my redhead. Again I saw his lips turn upwards.

“Shizi-san scheduled a break.”

`It's more like a smirk!' I yelled at myself in my head while my face stayed in place, at least I hoped it did. If it did show something Gaara kept it to himself.

“Where were you two going?” He looked from me to Sai.

“Oh, we were going to eat breakfast.”

“The kitchen is the other way.” Shizi just had to point out and I gave her a look that told her to mind her own business.

“We saw you.” I continued to Gaara, who smiled again but this time it was completely directed at me.

“We'll join you then.” He continued still smiling and turned me around. His hand sneaked on my back and my own around my waist to be able to hold him. Hand in hand he guided me to the kitchen. A smile colored my lips as I saw Shizi walk a little behind us and watched Sai glance at us.

“You're different.” Shizi said and got an odd look from the Kazekage. “You're more… relaxed, at ease…” She mumbled while I was watching the interaction between those two. Gaara thought for a second before again that smile was on his face. I couldn't help it but I was starting to hate that smile. It always showed after Shizi had said something. Keeping myself occupied I put a small cup against my lips and took a gulp from my miso soup.

“Good morning!” I turned around while Sakura was walking towards us.

“Morning Sakura.” I greeted her back. She smiled at me and then looked surprised at Gaara.

“I wouldn't have expected you here after only an hour, Kazekage-sama.”

“I also need breaks.” He actually took the time to answer which surprised me a little. A nod would normally be sufficient for him. He really was in a good mood. Again I heard the door open behind me and Sasuke joined us as last. He simple sat down without saying a word, making all of us look at him. A butler came to get his and Sakura's orders and again he just pointed at something, not a sound came from his lips. The Uchiha finally seemed to notice we were all looking at him and he looked back with a neutral expression.

“Is… Is there something, Sasuke?” I asked in the end as nobody seemed eager to open their mouths and he turned his blank expression to me.

“No.”

“Are you sure?” I had to ask, he was acting really strange and he sighed before getting up. To my surprise he walked over to me and pulled me from my chair. “Hey, wh…” The raven ignored me and instead looked at the Kazekage who was giving him a thoughtful look. “Sasuke?” I asked again when he suddenly pulled me out of the room. He was walking pretty fast, making it that I almost tripped over my own feet two times. Only when we were in his room he released me again. I turned to him to demand an explanation when I saw him performing a soundproof jutsu.

“We can speak freely now.” He said in the end and I just looked strangely at him. “The Tsuchikag's daughter was present so I have to pretend to be heartbroken because you rejected me.”

“What?!” I asked before my mind could follow. “Wait, oh, I get it. If she finds our interaction weird she'll tell her father.” The raven nodded. “But are you really okay, you look kind of… lonely.” I couldn't stop asking if he was alright. A smirk crawled on his face.

“I just miss my daughter.” He answered and after a moment of surprise I was smiling brilliantly.

“You don't have too, I'm right here, daddy.” I joined in our roll playing game.

“But you know why I have to stay away from you.” The Uchiha got serious again.

“Yes, I know, but I was thinking. I also have Gaara's chakra inside me, so why wouldn't everybody think I also got your chakra directly from you.” He smirked again.

“My chakra is mingled with Naruto's, the Kazekage's isn't, it's separately and practically screaming you're his.” I turned red hearing that and my daddy's smirk got wider.

“Oh, nobody can hear us right?” I changed the subject and got a nod.

“How is Kyuubi present in me?” The smirk disappeared.

“Like I said the chakra is present in every cell of your body.”

“So, I don't have a demon inside me?” I asked to be certain and felt relieved when Sasuke shook his head. I didn't really want to share my body.

“And it can't be extracted by a demon extraction. It's part of you.” The raven continued and I got a horror thought.

“Then am I a demon?”

“No.” Black hair shook wildly.

“Think about it, Naruto couldn't have know about a jutsu that can clone a person from another dimension.”

“But Kyuubi could.” I continued and daddy nodded.

“I see two options. Otherwise demon chakra was needed the perform the jutsu or Kyuubi wanted to leave something from himself on earth.”

“And Naruto would have to give the nine-tails his condition or the jutsu wouldn't be performed.” Sasuke nodded. “But… doesn't that make me part demon?” I could see I was making my daddy irritated by asking the same thing again.

“Choose yourself.” He released his soundproof jutsu and I knew this conversation was over. Sighing I watched him open the door and leave his room. I followed and bumped in his back when he suddenly stopped.

“Sasuke?” I asked and looked over his shoulder to see the Tsuchikage watching us with an amused expression.

“I almost didn't see you there, Shizuka-chan.” He smirked and I realized just how this must look, me leaving Sasuke's room together with the raven.

“We were returning to the dining room.” The Uchiha intervened him from asking more questions.

“Ah, is the Kazekage there?” I nodded and the earth kage signed he would join us. He followed close by, making Sasuke and me walk uncomfortable ahead of him. When we finally entered the dining room again I almost sprinted straight back to Gaara. The redhead noticed my discomfort and pulled me on his lap. “I was wondering if we could continue.” The Tsuchikage made his present know after smiling friendly at everyone. “But I see you're eating. Can I join you?” The Kazekage invited him with a simple hand gesture. “Can I sit here?” I nodded as the earth kage's hand was resting on the back of the chair I had been using. The butler moved my meal right next to Gaara's where after he received an order from his master. “So, what were you doing in Uchiha-san's room?” The Tsuchikage asked innocently and my eyes widened.

`I should have seen this coming.' I moaned mentally.

“You two did kind of leave suddenly.” His daughter joined in as she turned to Gaara and me. “Are you cheating on the Kazekage?!”

“What?!” I yelled angry as my body straightened and I would have jumped up if my redhead wasn't holding me. “I would never cheat!” I hissed and wrapped my arms around Gaara's neck. I glued myself against him while glaring Shizi to dead. She quickly looked at the Kazekage to see if her words had any effect, but my redhead just chuckled. He seemed to like the whole situation.

“She'll never cheat.” Sasuke opened his mouth and threw an angry glare at the redhead.

`He's actually really good at playing the dumped one.' I mustered looking at my daddy and gave him a sorry look. I also had to keep up with the lie.

“You seem to have found an one of a kind there, Kazekage-sama.” The Tsuchikage chuckled. He seemed pleased with the explanation and thanked his butler who had just brought him his meal.

“I sure have.” Gaara answered which made me look up forgetting all about my anger. He smiled again while caressing my cheek. He gave me a quick kiss which made me blush. I glanced at Shizi and saw her glaring me to dead. After the Tsuchikage had eaten half of his plate he excused himself and left. He ordered the Kazekage to be in his office within fifteen minutes. Shizi still tried to get Gaara's attention but with me on his lap he was occupied. I was sweetly feeding him the last of his food, stealing a couple of kisses in between. I did felt a little embarrassed as the three Konoha nin's were still present, but with Shizi also present I could overcome that.

“Sakura?” Sai pulled everyone's attention from Gaara and me. The pink girl looked surprised at her crush, who was giving her a thoughtful look. “You don't like Lee.” He stated to everyone's surprise especially Sakura's.

“Wh-, I like him as a friend.” She quickle recovered. “Why do you ask?” I could hear a little hope blossom in her voice.

“You aren't overprotective of him.” He stated glancing at me. “So, you're not romantically interested in him.” Sakura couldn't help but looked oddly at him.

“From who did you get that logic?”

“Shizuka-sama.” Sai answered happily and I received an insane look from the pink nin.

“I didn't mean it that way. You're twisting my words.” I defended myself.

“But you said because the Kazekage loves you he's overprotective.” My breath got caught in my throat just like everyone else in the room.

`Did he just used the love-word?!' Everyone's face was saying.

“I-I didn't say love!” I defended myself glancing at Gaara a couple of times. He seemed amused. I knew he loved me but it still was an unspoken rule not the use that word.

“So, love and overprotiveness isn't paired?” Sai continued confused ignoring the entire situation.

“Not always!” I peeped and suddenly the raven looked sad.

“So, Sakura doesn't love me?” My head fell on the table in defeat.
