Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Loveless Suna ❯ Chapter 55

I'm sorry it has taken forever again, but college is insane. I'm in my last year and we do nothing but labs with big reports. There was a week I had to hand in three reports to the one prof! But finally we have a week free and I had time to end this chapter and update. (Between the next reports I'm writing.) Oh yeah, I tried to make it longer than usual.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or make any money from this.
“Gaara?” I popped my head into his office. He was alone to my surprise but he did look drained. On my way here I remember crossing paths with Kankuro and Baki and guessed they hadn't left the Kazekage's office until a couple of minutes ago. The redhead signed that I could come in and I closed the door behind me. I walked over to him, passed his desk, moved his chair backwards and sat down on his lap. His arms wrapped around my waist while he laid his head on my shoulder hiding his face against my skin. “Temari and I had an idea.” I started carefully and he raised his head again. “We thought that maybe we could hide a chakra reserve around the marketplace.” His blue-green eyes got a glint in them.
“Where would we find on object that can contain chakra?” I could hear he was considering it.
“Temari spoke of a library at the ruins of the Veste.” His face lightened up before it darkened again.
“The chance we find the whereabouts of such an object and have it in time here in Suna after actually finding it, is minimal.”
“I know but I have to do something!” Disapprovingly his eyes flashed. “You don't really think I'm going to sit by and do nothing?” His lips opened to retort but I wasn't done yet. “And I know that the final plan isn't going to include me. You'll probably lock me up in my room or something.” His expression betrayed he had thought about that and I shot him a glare. “I want to find that library.”
“I'll send someone else.”
“No!” My eyes were blazing. “You need everyone here! I'll ask Sasuke to accompany me.” His face darkened again.
“I can send a couple of genins. It wouldn't be such a dangerous mission.” I rolled my eyes.
“I am a genin!” I reminded him but his face didn't change. “Look,” I sighed, “if I'm not back in time that vision won't even happen. I won't be here.” Just the slightest glint in his eyes told me I had hit a point.
“That won't insure my survival. You really want to spend my last month away from me?” I felt like I had been hit in the face.
“That's not fair…” I mumbled averting my eyes.
“You're using your dead against me.” He reminded me and I shot him a pleading look. “And without the Hokage's permission Uchiha can't accompany you.” He continued to break my idea down.
“She would give it…”
“Not if I ask for reinforcement.” My eyes widened.
“You wouldn't.” He raised an invisible eyebrow. Oh, he would. “Why would you go that far?”
“I want you with me. My change of survival is slim, so I want to spend the last of my time with you.” He explained and I could feel my cheeks warm up.
“You can't think like that.” My arms wrapped themselves around his neck and I sweetly kissed his lips. “Promise me that you'll do everything possible to survive.”
“I promise.” I smiled sadly before claiming his lips again.
“Excuse me, Kazekage-sama, Shizuka-sama.” Washi opened the door after a short knock. We looked questioning at him. “Honoo-san asked for permission to speak with you, Kazekage-sama.” The assistant said not the least bit embarrassed about interrupting our snogging session. Gaara sighed and signed the man could come in. Honoo entered with dignity and bowed his head as greeting.
“Don't complain about your vacation.” The Kazekage started to my surprise. I noted the jounin, or like I expect ANBU, twitch, clearly that was why he was here.
“With all due respect, Kazekage-sama. Word is going around that we're going to be attacked in a month.”
`That was fast.' I hadn't thought the entire village would already been updated. Gaara frowned and straightened himself. I tried to get off his lap but he wouldn't let me.
“I want you to be rested when the time comes.” He clearly wasn't in the mood for another one who tried to disregard his orders. Honoo nodded in understanding but did open his mouth to contradict. “And I'm not risking you getting hurt and having to spend months in the hospital. If you really want missions I could assign you to a genin-team.” The suspected ANBU got a look of horror.
“No thank you, I'll take the vacation.” Gaara smirked at that.
“See it as time to invent a new jutsu.” He suggested and Honoo's face brightened.
“That's a great idea. Thank you for your time, Kazekage-sama. Shizuka-sama.” Another small bow and he left.
“You could sent him to the library.” I dropped a hint but the redhead kept his smirk.
“That's a D-mission and Honoo-can clearly doesn't want a genin-team.” I rolled my eyes at him and was finally allowed off his lap.
“Is Kou-sensei already back?” I asked turning around to look at him.
“His report was handed in this morning.” I got as answer and twirled to the door. “Shizuka!” Curious my head turned back. “He was wounded on his mission and will be recovering at home for the next few days.” I blinked letting the words sink.
“Did you sent him on such a difficult mission? He's only a chuunin!”
“It was a C-rank, nothing he couldn't handle.” I pouted.
“Go visit him, I'm sure he will be pleased to see you. Washi should have his address.” And the Kazekage's attention shifted back to the papers on his desk.
-
After running around like a beheaded chicken I had finally found the Nikko's residence. A beautiful young woman answered the door and I guessed it was Kou-sensei's wife. “Shizuka-sama?” She asked surprised and I smiled friendly at her.
“I heard Kou-sensei got wounded.” I explained and she quickly waved me inside.
“Dear, see who came to visit you!” She almost sang while walking into the living room. I discovered my teacher sitting on the couch between bed sheets.
“Who? Shizuka-sama!” He beamed at me.
“Hi, Kou-sensei. Are you alright? Gaara told me you got wounded.” I asked concerned while studying his upper body, his lower was hiding under the sheets.
“My side got bruised pretty badly but for the rest just the normal scratches.” He reassured me nothing really bad had happened. “Come sit down.” He patted the space beside him which I gladly accepted.
“Now you have company I'm go to the market.” His wife announced and gave him a quick peck. “Make sure he doesn't start running around, Shizuka-sama. He has it in his head he isn't that wounded but he needs his rest.” She smiled teasingly at her husband who pouted.
“Go Benika!” He shooed her away making us both laugh.
“Naughty sensei.” I teased and his pout got directed at me.
-
Spending time with Kou-sensei had been fun and watching his wife and him interact couldn't be cuter. Smiling I walked back to the Kazekage tower and noted Sakura and Sai walking towards me. “Shizuka-chan!” Sakura waved as I raised my eyebrows at their entwined hands.
“What did I miss?” I asked once they stood before me. The pink nin blushed appropriate while the raven kept it at smiling innocently.
“I followed your advice.” Sai answered in the end making Sakura look thankful at me.
“Then I'm not going to keep you two up. Go, have fun on your date!” I yelled after them smirked at Sakura's red head. I couldn't have been happier when I finally reached my destination and even hugged Sasuke after running towards him yelling daddy when I saw him exit the tower. I knew we were getting odd looks but didn't care. “Sakura and Sai are on a date!” I exclaimed and the raven just rolled his eyes.
“About time.” He mumbled and I laughed aloud. The Uchiha's eyes watched me intently and I mouthed a `what'. “You seem shipper. I wouldn't have thought that would be your reaction after what we just learned.”
“Thanks for reminding me!” My smile fell with my sarcasm. “Oh, Temari and I had an idea but Gaara's against it.” I could see my daddy's interest was piqued. “We want to find an object that can hold chakra, give Gaara a chakra reserve.” I explained and saw his eyes widen. “Temari said we could probably find some information on such an object in the library of the Veste, but of course Gaara doesn't want me to go.”
“I'll go.” Sasuke announced immediately and I smiled sadly.
“I also thought about that but Gaara said he'll need reinforcements from Konoha and would specific ask for you.” The onix eyes looked thoughtful.
“If…” He started grabbing my full attention. “…we inform Tsunade about who you really are to Naruto and me, she would let me help you seeing as it's a family matter.” My eyes widened to their max.
“You really think so?”
“Yes,” Sasuke nodded convinced, “if you want to tell her of course?”
“Yes, oh yes, I've been wanting to tell everyone who I am.” I beamed at him and got a small smile back.
“Then you'll have to write a letter. I don't think the Kazekage will let you leave.” I nodded in understanding.
“And we better keep him happy if we want permission to go to the Veste later on.” I added and Sasuke agreed with a slow blink of the eyes.
“I'll start on the letter, bye daddy.” And gone was I.
-
I reread the paper in my hands for the umpteenth time and decided it wouldn't get better. Taking a deep breath I stood up from my desk and made my way to the pigeon tower but stopped still in the corridor. `It will have to be coded and I don't want some ANBU to read it.' Doubting I bit my lip and twirled around again. `Maybe Sasuke can use a snake or something.' I nodded to myself congratulating myself on an idea well thought. Like he had heard my thoughts I found the raven outside near to the Kazekage Tower. I couldn't help but wonder why it seemed like he was always there.
“Sasuke, you're just the person I'm looking for.” I smiled and got a raised eyebrow as response. “I was wondering… you can summon snakes, can't you?” I got a nod. “Do you use them as messengers during missions?” His face lost its wondering expression.
“You can use one of my snakes to deliver your letter to the Hokage.” I plastered a smile on my face and handed him my letter.
“Thanks Daddy!” I chirped. “Oh, I've decided to inform Sakura and Sai… tomorrow since I don't know how successful their date will go.” Sasuke smiled and nodded approvingly. His entire body radiated sereneness. He was certain they would accept me without a second thought and had a calming effect on me, but I knew when the time came I would a nervous rack.
-
Sakura and Sai were sitting before me on my bed and I couldn't take my eyes from their entwined hands. “I guess yesterday went great?” I teased and the pink nin turned red. The raven just kept it at a smile.
“But that's not why you called us here, is it?” The medical nin changed the subject glancing sideways down before turning her eyes back on me.
“Yes, that's right.” My nervousness rose again and a knock was heard from my door. “Sasuke?” I called my daddy inside. I knew he wouldn't want to miss this. I invited him to stand next to me and with his support I directed my attention back to the two on my bed. Sakura suddenly seemed really eager and I could guess she knew she was finally going to be informed about the secret between Sasuke and me. “Well, I told you I see Sasuke as my daddy, right?” The girl slowly nodded while Sai gave me a confused expression, but I decided to ignore him for the moment. “That's because he sort of is. You see Naruto copied me from another world, dimension with the help of Sasuke's Sharingan. As proof, if you study my chakra you can find both Naruto's and Sasuke's chakras entwined!” I rambled the end and looked nervous from the girl to her boyfriend. Sakura blinked stupidly while Sai concentrated on my chakra. His eyebrows rose in surprise.
“It's true.” He said and Sakura's mouth fell open.
“You… mean… your Naruto's daughter?” She asked carefully and I nodded apologizing. Was she accepting it or not. Suddenly tears brimmed the green eyes and a pair of arms were surrounding me. “You have no idea how happy I am!” She sobbed and in shock I looked up at her boyfriend. He was radiating in happiness. “It's like… a piece of Naruto is still here!” Sakura finally explained after she released me.
“I told you.” Was the only thing Sasuke said and I suppressed the urge to stick my tongue out at him. That would totally break the moment.
“That explains you relationship with Sasuke!” The pink nin couldn't have been more relieved.
“How did the Kyuubi transfer to you?” Sai asked being his usual disregarding self.
“Euh, we think the chakra was needed for the jutsu or it was Kyuubi's demand since the nine-tails was probably the one who knew the jutsu.” I explained and saw the ex-root nin nod his head in thought.
“Are we the only ones who know?” Sakura asked and I could guess who she was referring to.
“Gaara knows.” I reassured her. “And I just sent a letter to the Hokage. Actually I want to tell everyone of Naruto's friends…”
“Then why isn't Kakashi-sensei here?” Sai interrupted.
“I figured it would be best to tell him together with Iruka.”
“Maybe you should tell Kakashi-sensei first. Iruka-sensei will probably freak out, in a good way that is, and Kakashi could be there to help him calm down.” Sakura offered and I looked at Sasuke for his opinion. He and the pink nin were the ones who knew their old teacher best.
“It couldn't hurt.” He shrugged and I felt myself stuck in a dilemma.
“Fine, I'll tell him.” I decided after a pause. My daddy immediately turned around and left. My eyes stayed glued on the door feeling my nerves rise again. Not much later he returned with the copy-nin not far behind him. Again I rambled my explanation and forced myself to look Kakashi in the eye. I could see my words sinking in and finally his mask spread into a smile. Sakura was suddenly hugging me again, squealing happily.
-
Late at night I crawled into the Kazekage's bed. The Konoha nins had kept me up until a couple of minutes ago. Gaara immediately pulled me against him and started kissing my neck. “Hn, Gaara…” I bit my lip to keep myself from moaning. “Aren't you tired?” I did remember how drained he had looked the last two days. With little effort I tried to push him off me but of course he ignored my protests. He silenced me entirely with his lips and I threw away the part of me that was concerned about his health. Without the slightest hesitation he pulled our clothes off and took me to the seventh heaven. Afterward he immediately fell into a deep sleep and I let my fingers trace the silhouette of his face with a smile on my lips. `I'll do everything in my power to keep you alive.' I promised silently.
-
Next morning I opened Gaara's bedroom door and met with two onix eyes. “Sasuke?” I asked surprised and felt my redhead stop behind me.
“Letters from the Hokage.” He handed them to me and I passed to one that read `Kazekage-sama' to Gaara. Curious I opened the one addressed to me and read it. My eyes widened in surprise and looked up at my Daddy for reassurance. He nodded and I turned to the Kazekage. The redhead had a frown on his face but I knew he couldn't deny a request from the Hokage.
“You told her?!” He asked a little angry and I carefully nodded.
“I told you I wanted to tell everyone.” I reminded him but his face didn't change.
“I expect you back in six days!” He ordered before pushing passed me and walk to the dining room for breakfast.
“I could have guessed he would react like this.” I sighed before turning back to Sasuke.
“But, is it really okay? You do have say into this.” For once the Uchiha smiled brightly.
“I wouldn't want it any other way.” My lips broke out into a smile that would cover my whole face if it was possible and I flew my daddy around the neck.
`I'm going to become Naruto's and Sasuke's daughter officially!' My mind was chanting happily.
Stephke23: I just had to make Shizuka the official daughter of Naruto and Sasuke. Hopefully this one isn't too confusing. R&R
