Right now I&nb sp;was making my way to Konoha and couldn‟t have been happier. â€œOh, I can‟t&n bsp;wait to tell 
Ino!†Sakura squealed from my left. I had caught her glancing at me a couple of times before an inner 
happiness made her squeak. Shaking  ;my head I choose to ignore her and caught Sasuke smiling at her 
behavior. â€œYou must be trilled, Sasuke-kun!†The pink nin continued and I had to laugh seeing him 
put his poker-face back into place.  
“Finally  ;you can go show off with your daughter in public!†Sai nodded happily agreeing with his 
girlfriend. Honestly he would probably agree with everything she said. My daddy still didn&acir c;€Ÿt answer 
his teammate and I pouted at him.  
â€&oeli g;You‟re not going to show me off?†I asked playing hurt and to my surprise the raven turned to face 
me.  
“Of course I am.†He answered as monotone as possible and I blinked a couple of times before 
bursting out&nb sp;in laughter. The three days it took to reach Konoha passed like that and when we arrived 
Tsunade was waiting for us by&nb sp;the gate. She guided us to her office immediately and dropped a file 
before me on her desk.  
“Signing this will make you officially Naruto‟s and Sasuke‟s daughter.†She explained and my eyes 
widened. I hadn‟t thought things would go fast. Looking at my daddy he stepped forward and picked 
up the file. Not a word was said as he scanned through it.  
“No date of birth?†He finally opened his eyes.  
“Not yet, I figured Shizuka would probably want to put her own done.†I nodded quickly.  
“Will I be a Konoha citizen? Since I live in Suna.†I questioned and the Hokage nodded once.  
“Through the adoption you‟ll be a Konoha citizen but because you are the Kazekage‟s concubine 
you‟ll permanent residents& nbsp;will still be in Suna.†Shizune informed me and I gave her a nod in 
understanding b efore turning back to Sasuke.  
“It‟s okay.†He reassured me and handed me the file. I quickly scanned through it myself and found it 
to my liking. Filling in the blanks and signing it with blood made it official, from now on I was 
Shizuka Uchiha. As I gave the scroll back to Tsunade I bit my lip. Now I had to ask it. The blonde 
looked up at me like she already knew what I was going to ask.  
“As citizen of Konoha, I ask for your permission to visit for&n bsp;the ruins of the Veste.†Tsunade actually 
smirked at me.  
“To avoid war with Suna I have to decline.†I felt all hope drain from me. “But if it is a family 
emergency I‟m not  the one to ask permission from.†She smiled at me as I looked dumbfounded back 
at her and gave a nod directed at Sasuke. “The head of the family would be in charge of making those 
decisions.†My ey es widened and I twirled towards Sasuke looking all innocent.  
“Daddy?& acirc;€ The raven just shook his head before addressing Tsunade.

“I as k permission for me and, my daughter to leave the village on family matters.†I had to smile at his 
small pause as he addressed me.  
“Permission granted.†The Hokage smiled and I was beaming.

Ten minutes later& nbsp;I couldn‟t keep the smile from my face as we left the tower. Kakashi immediately 
apologized and left to find his little family. “What do you want to do?†My official daddy asked.   “Look for the ruins of the Veste.†My answer came a little too quickly and he shook his head before 
looking at me.  
â €œYes tomorrow, Tsunade-sama ordered us to rest first.† 
“But I do want to be gone before Gaara sends ANBU‟s to take me home.†I pouted and the corner of 
his mouth rose a little.  
“We have three days before he finds out.†Sakura reassured me.  
“But will that be enough? How long will it&nb sp;take for us to reach the Veste?† 
“Five days.&aci rc;€ Sai answered immediately like he was reciting it from a textbook. â€œThe first two days 
would be in the direction of Suna.†&nb sp;
“So if Gaara decides to send someone sooner we fail.†I mumbled biting my lip in concentration.  
“He won‟t send someone, he needs everyone present.†Sakura reassured me again and I looked 
doubtful at her. I wouldn‟t be surprised if my redhead suspected my intentio ns.  
“Won‟t it&nbs p;put a strain on the relationship between Konoha and Suna?†I suddenly realized.  
“The Hokage will send nins to Suna in goodwill.†Sai nodded to himself.  
“And I don‟t think the Kazekage is willing to risk a war with Konoha.†Sakura explained a little more.  
“Still…⠀  
“Sasuke!†A scream interrupted our conversation.  
“Is that?†I asked looking over my daddy‟s shoulder recognizing Iruka‟s voice. When the chuunin saw 
me his eyes started to water and he sprinted towards me. His arms tightly embraced me as he started 
wailing something about â&eu ro;žNaruto‟ and „didn‟t tell meâ€& Yuml;. Kakashi showed up from nowhere and gently 
pulled his boyfriend of me.  
“How could you keep this from me?†Iruka demanded once he had calmed down. The question was 
obviously directed at Sasuke who seemed enfaced.  
“Shizuka‟s safety stood above all.†He answered monotone and the chuunin pouted hurt.  
“It‟ s also my fault. It wasn‟t easy telling Gaara.â& euro; I confessed feeling a little guilty my daddy was taken 
the&nbs p;fault entirely. Iruka met my eyes and nodded his head in understanding.

“Telling a secret you‟ve kept so long from your loved one is hard.†A smile formed on my face at his 
quick acceptance. The rest of&nbs p;the evening we met as many of Naruto‟s friends as we could and 
informed them about my new status. When the time came to leave the next morning we had barely 
slept, which Sakura didn‟t approve off but nothing was going to keep me from finding the ruins of the 
Veste.

â€&oeli g;We‟re almost there.†Sai&nbs p;informed me. I knew he didn‟t mean Veste but the last point we had a 
chance of running into Suna nins. I had to admit that a part of me wanted to encounter them with the 
message that Gaara agreed to my plan. I didn‟t like going behind his back although I realize he 
probably knew. But I also realized the chance of him changing his mind would be minimal. It was 
probably alread y a miracle we hadn‟t encountered Suna nins to escort me back home. “We‟re here.†
The raven informed me again and like it had been decided before we left, we stopped.  
“You‟re sure you want to do this?†Sakura asked giving me a last chance to change my mind.  
“Yes,†I nodded at her, “Gaara would never let me go and I‟m not going to sit by and watch him 
getting himself killed.† 
“Then we‟re off.†She smiled and went ahead of us. I followed her only stopping after two steps again. 
Looking backwards again I bit my lip in agony. Sasuke also stopped a couple of steps before me and 
waited.  
“Heâ€&Y uml;s going to be made, isn‟t he.†One nod gave the answer. Sighing I walked towards my daddy. 
“Nothing I can do about that I guess.†I forced a smile on my face and made us move forward.

“This is the&nb sp;Veste?†I asked stating the obvious and felt my heart sank. It may&n bsp;be called the ruin of the 
Veste but I hadnâ&euro ;Ÿt expected this. It really was complet ely in ruin.  
“Of course, what did you think a ruin would look like?†Sai asked truthful and I gave him a playful 
glare.  
“I was&nbs p;hoping a little more structure.†I mumbled and his head turned back to the ruin in wonder.  
“Near the library  ;the streets have been cleared.†Sakura assured me.  
“Okay then, let‟s go.†Hope filled me again and I follow Sasuke who seemed to know where he was 
going. After ten minutes we arrived at a large building that seemed to exist from ensemble three 
already pretty big constructions. Takin g in the size I was certain we would find what we were looking 
for. Quickly I follow my daddy who had already entered the library not having stopped to take in the 
building like me. Once inside my eye got caught by a small desk with an old man behind it.  
“Ojiisan!†Sakura greeted him with a warm smile. Brown eyes looked up and down before sneering. 
The pink nin‟s& nbsp;hands fisted and Sai quickly held her down while Sasuke took her place before the 
desk.   “We‟re looking for i nformation.†The man also looked him up and down before his eyes met the 
Uchiha‟s.

“About?† 
â&euro ;œObjects that can contain chakra.†The old man‟s interest got sparked and he straightened himself.  
“Follow me.â€&n bsp;He announced as he got up and shuffled in a hallway. We passed two room before 
entering a third one where he stopped in the middle of the area. “This room holds the books and scrolls 
about chakra. First four shelves are on the traits of chakra and the two last ones on the applications.†
He informed us as I took in the big size of each of those shelves. “Damage something, pay for it.†He 
continued before shuffling to the corner of the room and settled himself on a dusty chair.  
“Nothing better&n bsp;to do?†I heard Sakura muttered and smiled. Sai was the first one to pick up a scroll 
under the watchful eye of the librarian only to put it back after a couple of minutes.  
“This is going to take a lot of time…†I  sighed and blew up by cheeks before letting the air escape 
between my lips.  
“Then we better start helping Sai.†The pink nin said from beside me and I nodded reluctantly.

Coughing I tried to wipe away the dust that was flying around me. It was already the second day and 
we weren‟t a step closer to finding the information we needed. â€œDon‟t give up, Shizuka-chan!†Sakura 
yelled from behind the rejected pile. When Sasuke had started to make that pile the librarian had made 
a fuss about it but after promising we would put the books back on their respective place he reluctantly 
let&nbs p;them be. I did catch him putting a scroll back now and then. Picking up the next one I glanced 
through the leaves and was about to lay it on the rejected pile when something caught my eye.  
â ;€˜-It’s also said that Tsuchikage Rukkay intentionally k ept most part of his chakra until the end to 
assure his victory. Historicists are skeptic about this, believing he wouldn’t have let his wife die if he 
had…’& nbsp; 
“I think I found something!†My voice disturbed the quietness that only a library could hold. Sai was 
the first&nb sp;one to reach me and I pointed to the paragraph I had just read. I saw his eyebrows rise and 
look back at me.  
&ac irc;€œThis could be a lead.†He nodded and handed the scroll to his girlfriend. Sakura frowned after reading 
it and handed it over to Sasuke, who also frowned.  
“It isnâ&e uro;Ÿt good?†I asked.  
“It is, but you do realize that if we follow this lead we will end up in the Earth country.†Sakura 
explained biting her lip.  
“And it‟s the Earth country that will attack Suna.†I continued and she nodded.  
“It‟s the best lead we‟ve got.†Sasuke told us his thoughts and I looked doubtful at him.  
“What if  us returning, will lead to the attack?†I asked and he closed his eyes in thought.  
“We don‟t have to go as ourselves.†Sai proposed.  
“Wonâ€&Yum l;t they recognize our chakra?†I really meant my Kyuubi chakra, which my daddy understood.

“You haven‟t released it since thatâ €¦ accident.† 
“But still, it‟s like now that I know I have it, I tap into it without thinking when my emotions get a 
little...† 
â€&o elig;One of us will stay with you all times. Naruto, your father could stop it after a while. I‟m certain you 
can to.†Sakura smiled at me and I started to feel a little relieved. &nb sp;
“I‟m certain we won‟t be the trigger for the war, instead we can find out what is.†Sai continued and I 
nodded slowly.  
“Let&aci rc;€Ÿs first find more information about this war.†Sasuke suggested while looking at the old man who 
had fallen asleep in his chair.
