Naruto Fan Fiction ❯ Naruto...my friends...soo don't mix! ❯ Konoha ( Chapter 2 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Everyone looked around, and realized I was right. Here we are sitting at the gates of Konoha. That wasn't the only new thing either we weren't normal…we were drawn.

“Oh my gosh.” Samantha said. We looked around. Luckily everything had came with us. All our suitcases, and sleeping bags.

I stood up. Everyone followed my lead.

“Where are we?” Haley asked.

“We're in Konoha.” I said still amazed. “The power of the book must've mixed with my Naruto books. I looked down.

Oh no. If we're in Naruto they'd absolutely freak out seeing those books that were lying at my feet. I quickly hid them in my case, and said, “I think we should go inside, and find somewhere to stay.”

“Why is it morning here?” Tristan asked.

Dangit he came with us! I'm so… I don't know, but I don't like the fact he's here. Plus he doesn't have any clothes or anything. “My guess is that it's, because it's a different world. All I can say is that I hope they speak English after all we're in an Americanized version of the series.”

We all gathered our things, and walked through the gates. “Yes! I'm right! They speak English.” I exclaimed happily.

“How can you tell?” Tristan asked.

“All the signs are in English.” I answered looking around. “Obviously smart one… Oh no!”

“What?!” Samantha asked immediately.

“I just remembered.” I began. “I'm decked out in the Kakashi accessories I got at Hot Topic! If anyone who knows him sees them they'll get freaked out.”

“Just take them off.” Paige suggested.

“No!” I was beginning to get a little annoyed. “I haven't gone a day without wearing them since I got them.”

“Well then turn them inside out, or upside down or something.” Tristan said coolly.

I nodded, and turned my wristband inside out, then upside down so the picture was hidden. Then I tucked my necklace inside my shirt. Finally I took of my pin, and moved it to inside my jacket.

“Wonderful. Let's goooo!” Samantha said pointing forward.

“We still have problems.” I reminded her. “We don't have money, food, or a place to stay.”

“Why do you have to be such a pessimist.” Stacy laughed.

“Just watching out for everyone.” I answered somewhat haughty.

“Maybe you should get a job.” Tristan suggested.

“Why me?” I asked annoyed. “I'm one of the youngest in our group!”

“He's right.” Samantha said giving me that look again.

“Why?” I asked rudely.

“You know this place the best.” She answered correctly. “If you were to see any characters you'd know exactly how to handle them.”

Dangit again. She was right. But I'm only 12! I don't want a job yet. And I most definitely don't want the weight of my friend's problems on my shoulders. But that's also a reason to get a job.

“Fine.” I forced out. “But you all owe me.” All of them, but Tristan nodded. I overlooked it.

“Where can you get a job?” Stacy asked. “Ooh! You should get a job at Naruto's favorite ramen place! That way maybe if he comes by with Iruka you'll know exactly what to say, and do. Plus if you work at a food place then you can get us free food!”

I let out a low growl, but she was correct.

We walked through Konoha until I found the place, recognizing it by secretly shuffling through the pages of the first book.

When we got inside I was more than exuberant to see that no one was inside, but that made sense being that it was still pretty early. Only Naruto could eat ramen at this hour.

I left my friends outside, and went inside to talk to the owner.

“Excuse me sir.” I said in my mock perfect little angel voice. He turned around. “I'm so sorry to imply, but me and my friends are new to Konoha, and we're kind of broke, so I was wondering if you'd let them eat something, I'll work to pay for it.”

He looked outside at my friends, then back at me. “I suppose it wouldn't hurt.” He said slowly. “I do need the help after all I get slammed during dinner, and lunch.”

“So that's a yes?” I asked hopefully. He nodded. I lit up with glee.

“I'll show you how things work around here.” He said, then explained to me exactly what to do. After he gave me advice on our living situation. “If your friends need somewhere to stay there's a cheap motel across the street, and I'll pay you nightly so you can get a room.”

“That'd be wonderful.” I said.

“Well then let your friends in they'll be your mock customers.” He said. I nodded, and motioned for everyone to come inside as the owner walked to the back.

“What's going on?” Stacy asked.

“He agreed to letting you guys have free food as long as I work here.” I explained. “He also gave me advice on where we can stay, until we either get back home or find a permanent residence here.”

A few of them sighed, but at least we had some way to live.

I got to work strait away. I made each of them a bowl of ramen. It was a lot easier than I'd expected. Both of my sisters could do it easily too though so it just runs in my dang blood. I suppose I should thank my mother's awesome cooking skills for that though.

I spent the whole day there. Eventually everyone split from bordom, but I made them promise they'd come back here at around 3 I didn't want to lose a single one of them. Luckily they kept their promise. When they were all back barely anyone was there so they took seats, and I was talking to them as I washed the dishes. Sadly this took extra long considering it's my greatest pet peeve to touch something anyone else's lips have touched. After they'd been there for about a minute Naruto, and Iruka walked in. A small gasp escaped both mine, and Stacy's lips. They sat down at the counter. Naruto was wearing his goggles so I decided that he'd just finished cleaning the statues of the previous Hokages.

I walked over to them, and asked what they wanted in my mock perfect little angel voice, I knew I'd be using it a lot. Of course he ordered two bowls as expected.

When I'd made it, and given them the bowls I leaned on the counter to talk to everyone again.

“Hey what if this is like in Chronicles of Narnia?” Paige wondered aloud. “And we spend like all our lives here then finally find our way back, and as soon as we enter our world we're 12, and 13 year olds again?”

“I'd be relieved.” I said truthfully. “My mother would freak out if she found out we disappeared during the middle of the night.”

“Maybe we like it here better though.” Haley suggested. “I can't stand my fricken parents.”

“All I can say is I'm glad I brought the laptop.” I said.

“Why?” Stacy asked.

I looked at her. “I brought rent with me.”

“Awesome!” Paige, Tristan, and Haley shouted, causing Iruka, and Naruto to look our way. When I realized they were looking I adjusted my wristband to make sure the picture couldn't be seen. Then Haley did something that totally hit my weak spot, I was about to make a total fool of myself thanks to her!

Haley: Dearly beloved we gather here to say our good byes. Here she lies no one knew her worth. The late great daughter of mother earth. On this night when we celebrate the birth, in that little town of Bethlehem we raise our glass- you bet your ass to La Vie Boheme!

Before I knew it I was singing my most sung song along with Paige, Tristan, and Haley. We started out pretty low then got increasingly louder.

All: To days of inspiration playing hookey making something out of nothing the need to express to communicate to going against the grain going insane going mad!! To loving tension no pension to more than one dimension, to starving for attention hating convention hating pretension, not to mention of course hating dear old mom and dad. To riding your bike midday past the three-piece suits to fruits to no absolutes. To absolutes to choice to the village voice to any passing fad! To being an us for once instead of a them! La Vie Boheme!

Tori: So that's five miso soup four seaweed salad three soy burger dinner two tofu dog platter and one pasta with meatless balls.

Haley: eww

Tristan: They taste the same.

Paige: If you close your eyes.

Tori: And thirteen orders of fry's is that it here?

All: Wine and Beer! To handcrafted beers made in local brewaries, to yoga to yogurt to rice, and beans, and cheese. To leather to dildoes to curry vindalou, to huevos rancheros and Maya Angelou! Emotion devotion to causing a commotion creation vacation

All but Haley: Mucho Mastubation!

We burst out in laughter. We love that song so much even though it has heck of nasty material. Now Iruka, and Naruto had “what the heck” looks on their faces.

“So I finally get to see rent?” Samantha asked.

“Well duh.” I said. “I still can't believe you haven't seen it considering we talk about it so fricken much.”

“I rented it from blockbuster, but it froze at the song with the girl in the santa suit.”

I looked at Haley, and automatically we both sang “It was my lucky day today on avenue A when a lady in a limousine drove my way. She said darling be a dear haven't slept in a year I need your help to make my neighbor's yappy dog disappear.”

Again we started laughing. Eventually Naruto ordered another bowl as I knew he would. While he was eating his second bowl we were discussing the musical “The Producers”.

“I still can't believe I'm the only one who's seen The Producers.” I said. “I absolutely love that movie. I know every song.”

“Yes, but your memory is almost as good as mine.” Tristan gloated.

“Better.” I said harshly. We glared at one another, then Samantha gave me that look again.

“So what are we doing tomorrow?” Samantha asked. “You gonna work again?”

I glanced at Iruka, and Naruto. “Yeah I think I have to work. After all I'm one 12 year old girl supporting a group of six.”

“Your gonna keep that as a guilt trip forever aren't you?” Stacy asked.

“I'm evilly smart aren't I?” I asked.

Haley laughed evilly. “Yeah right.” She said. “You don't hold a candle to how evil I can be.”

“No offense.” Stacy said. “But you shouldn't fight over who's more evil.”

Me, and Haley looked at each other then said, “Speak for yourself.”

“Anyway.” Samantha interrupted. “Are we ever gonna get to go shopping? Even if it's just window shopping.”

I looked at her. “Perhaps.” I adjusted my wristband again.

“Your really gonna get on my nerves if you keep doing that.” Tristan said.

“Forget you.” I said.

We kept talking, and eventually Iruka, and Naruto left. A little while later the owner paid me, told me I should get there at 11 tomorrow, and let me off.

We went over to the motel, and checked out a room with two beds. Tristan got one bed, because he didn't have a sleeping bag, Paige decided to crash on the bed with her brother. I got the other bed since I had to work. Then I put my laptop on a desk, and turned on The Producers. I sang along with every song, even the ones I don't really like.

When it was over it was around 9 o'clock so I put on Paige's season one of friends. We watched a couple episodes then fell asleep.
