“Oh my gosh!” Stacy shouted joyously. “Naruto you made it up the tree!!” The two were becoming practically best friends, meanwhile Samantha had been bugging all heck out of me to find out why I was so distracted at times.

 

“Tell me.” She pleaded.

 

“No.”

 

“C'mon!!”

 

“No.”

 

“Please.”

 

“Samantha! No! Stop it already!” I shouted.

 

Everyone had become accustomed to the two of us shouting so no one even bothered to look at us.

 

“Why not?” She asked giving me a “puppy dog” look.

 

“Shut up!” I said annoyed. “Seriously that's not how you get info from people!”

 

“Then how do I break you?”

 

“Yeah like I'll tell!” I rolled my eyes. “I'm going.” I walked away before she could saw anything. I focused my attention into my mind until I was able to hear Lili. “Hey Lili you there?”

 

“Oh hey Tor-tor.”

 

“Don't call me that. I'm sorta worried though.”

 

“Because Naruto and Sasuke climbed the trees, right?”

 

“Yeah, `cause you know that means…”

 

“Zabuza.” We thought in unison. I sighed.

 

“Eh don't worry. You'll be fine. You know you six could even skip out on the whole thing. In fact you six should just stand in front of Zabuza so the others'll do what they're supposed to.”

 

“That's true! I should tell everyone!”

 

“Get to it lil missy!”

 

“Seriously the nicknames are junk.” I laughed. “Well anyway I better go. I'm back at Tazuna's house now.”

 

“I'll be watching my ring tomorrow just in case alright? Well talk to ya lay-terrr!” I giggled then walked in the house.

Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, and us six outsiders reached the bridge with Tazuna. My eyes darted around the scenery uncomfortably. Samantha glanced at me. The previous night I'd gathered my friends and told them to simply guard Tazuna, and not to take action, they'd willingly agreed.

 

“Don't make it obvious.” Stacy whispered in my ear. “You're being so obvious it's sad.”

 

“Stacy.” I whispered back. “Shut up.” She glared at me then the two of us giggled.

 

“What's funny?” Tristan asked.

 

“What an idiot you are.” I said easily. He glared at me. “Oh so now you're gonna be a little boy?”

 

“Might as well!” He said rudely.

 

“Oh my gosh I'm so scared.” I said fake scared.

 

“You should be.” He said childishly. Paige and I laughed at his stupidity, but stopped when we realized mist.

 

“Oh no.” I whispered. I looked at my ring which was a vibrant orange. “Worried? Why's she worried?”

 

“I'm here I'm alert! I'm all for helping!” Lili thought to me.

 

“I think we'll be fine.” Mist continued to surround us and thicken.

 

“Tori is this it?” Samantha asked.

 

“Oh boy should you know better.” I said. We surrounded Tazuna in time for Zabuza and Haku's appearance.

 

I didn't even want to take in the scene really. I just wanted to get back to Konoha. Before I knew it Haku and Sasuke were battling. All I could hope now was that none of my friends interfered. Throughout the fight I had to hold back Stacy from interfering. Finally when Haku and Zabuza were defeated I could breath. Everything went according to storyline. Sasuke got his sharingan, Naruto partially became the nine-tailed demon fox, and Sakura did virtually nothing as usual.

We were happily back in Konoha waiting for our sensei to show for training. Samantha and I were playing “slaps”, while the others were discussing randomness, and the boys were sitting and sulking about not getting a good mission since the bridge builder.

 

“Hello everyone.” Kakashi said as he arrived.

 

“Yo sensei!” I shouted happily. Everyone looked strangely at me. “What?”

 

“You're being weird.” Tristan said.

 

“Thanks.” I said happily. Samantha, Paige, Haley, and I laughed. Then in the distance we heard some sort of tune. “What is that?”

 

“I don't know, but does it sound familiar to you?” Haley asked me.

 

“Yeah. Yeah it does, but what…” I stopped then without even noticing it I was singing along. “Dearly beloved we gather here to say our goodbyes.” Haley sang the background gibberish. “Here she lies, no one knew her worth, the late great daughter of mother earth. On these nights when we celebrate the birth. In that little town of Bethlehem we raise our glass, you bet your ass to La Vie Boheme.”

 

The two of us jumped up.

 

All three- La Vie Boheme!

 

Tori and voice- To days of inspiration, playing hookey, making something out of nothing, the need to express- to communicate, to going against the grain, going insane, going mad, to loving tension, no pension, to more than one dimension, to starving for attention, hating convention, hating pretension, not to mention of course, hating dear old Mom and Dad! To riding your bike, midday past the three-piece suits, to fruits - to no absolutes- to Absolute - to choice- to the Village Voice- to any passing fad, to being an us for once…instead of a them!

 

“Wait a second I know that voice.”

 

I looked at Haley, and as she shouted “LILI!!!!!!!!!!” I shouted “LILITH!!!!!!!”. A brown haired girl with glasses, wearing a jean jacket, jumped down from a tree and kept singing with us, as she made her way to the group.

 

Tori- So that's five miso soup, four seaweed salad, three soy burger dinner, two tofu dog platter, and one pasta with meatless balls

 

Lilith- Ew

 

Haley- They taste the same

 

Lilith- If you close your eyes

 

Tori- Is that it here?

 

All three- Wine and Beer!

 

Haley and Tori- To hand-crafted beers made in local breweries, to yoga, to yogurt, to rice and beans and cheese, to leather, to dildoes, to curry vindaloo, to huevos rancheros and Maya Angelou.

 

All three- Emotion, devotion, to causing a commotion, creation, vacation…

 

Lilith and Tori- Mucho Masturbation!

 

As Lilith sang the last line she tripped on a rock causing her to fall into Sasuke kneeing him in the crotch. My group started to crack up.

 

“Classic Lili.” I laughed.

 

“Who's Lili?” Naruto asked as Lilith hoisted herself up laughing and apologizing. “That's Geany.”

 

“So that's what you go by here Lili?” I asked her quietly.

 

“Well DUH!” I giggled. Her voice went to normal dynamic, “Tori, we brought you your B-day gifts!”

 

“My birthday passed already?” I asked.

 

“Yep! You're officially 13!” She shouted.

 

“Hoo-rah.” I said sarcastically. She stuck her tongue out at me.

 

“Geany why always the grand entrance?” Sasuke asked clearly in pain, “And why always my crotch?”

 

“Always huh?” I asked.

 

“Oh shut up and open your presents!”

 

I looked around. “I don't see anything.”

 

“That's because Laraine is taking a year and a half!” She shouted.

 

“Laraine's here?”

 

“Duh I'm here!” A girl with long black hair said, she was carrying a bunch of bags.

 

“If it isn't Laraine Wong my sworn enemy…in the guy department that is.” We both laughed.

 

“Losers.” Tristan said rudely, we just ignored him.

 

Laraine set the bags down. “I've been dying to find out what's in this one.” She pointed to an ordinary brown bag.

 

“I dunno let's see.” I picked it up. “Who's it from?” I stumbled under it's weight.

 

“Craig.” My eyes lit up.

 

“He got me what I wanted I just know it!” I shouted happily as I set it back down, and picked up a jar from within. “YES!!!” I shouted happily hugging it.

 

“A jar of dirt?” Laraine asked slowly.

 

I smiled brightly at Lili, then the two of us began to sing, “I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt, bet you can't guess what's in it!” in an English accent. When they looked at us inquisitively we sang “The Pirates of the Carribean!”

 

“You mean that Johnny Depp thing again?” Haley asked.

 

“Yes.” I answered

“Why?” She asked

 

“Because it's awesome!” I said like Chandler in “The One Where Joey Dates Rachel”.

 

“You watch “Friends” way too much.” Samantha said.

 

“Forget you, `cause I've got a jar of dirt!” I yelled happily.

 

“Dude our gifts are way better.” Lilith said.

 

“Like?”

 

“Oh…say…Fruits Basket vol. 8 through 13” My mouth dropped open in amazement.

 

“You liar.” Laraine said. “That's what her mom got her.”

 

“More sensible.” I laughed. “Seriously she did that?” Lilith held out my box of Fruits Basket, I put down my jar of dirt, and took it. When I opened it indeed had vol. 8 through 13 added to the rest of my collection, with more room to spare. “Yay! And I still have room.”

 

“Yeah where did you get that box?” Lilith asked me.

 

“I don't remember, but it's a savior.” We laughed.

 

“Are we gonna train today at all?” Naruto asked.

 

“Shut up Naruto!” I shouted as I searched the rest of my gifts. I got plently of wonderful things, including more Kakashi accessories which Lili kept in a bag she told me not to open around the others, I nodded.

 

“Last gift.” Lili said holding out a jacket careful not to show the design on the back, she winked, I understood. I took it from her hands then carefully looked at the picture of Kakashi, without showing anyone else. I let an earsplitting happy scream. I shoved it on inside out so that the others couldn't see it, then ran up to Lili and hugged her. “Awesomeness!!” I laughed.

“Are you gonna use any of your new clothing for a ninja outfit?” Lili asked me as we walked home from training that day.

 

“Yep. The half-V skirt with the tight things that go to the calf, and the half short sleeve, half spaghetti strap shirt.” I told her.

 

“Black, and hot pink? Really?” Tristan asked.

 

“It's women's death.” Haley, Paige, Samantha, Lili, Laraine, and I said.

 

“You are all so weird.” He said.

 

“Thanks.” Was our reply.
