Rock Lee paced around with a nervous excitement, waiting for the cue from Neji so they could leave on their mission. Neji had been using his Byakugan to survey the area for the rogue ninja that they were assigned to throw off of Team 7's trail. They were supposed to keep them away from the other team for a fairly significant amount of time, something that might be a bit difficult to do for any group of ninja.

They were supposed to keep them away from the other team for a fairly significant amount of time, something that might be a bit difficult to do for any group of ninja.
It was never a good sign when Neji used his ability for so long. Rock Lee knew very well that this was a dangerous mission, and though Tsunade had not released a good portion of its details, it was evident that they must remain vigilant and focused with what had been entrusted to them.
“Idiots!” Neji grumbled to himself as Rock Lee watched Neji focus his Byakugan further into the forest.
Ten-Ten looked up from her spot where she guarded the fake scroll they were using as the decoy. “What is it Neji, what's wrong?”
Neji responded, but it was more like he was complaining silently under his breath rather than answering his teammate. “Ignorantly blissful idiots, this better be part of their plan to make our decoy look real.”

Both Rock Lee and Ten-Ten gave their teammate an inquisitive look, not quite understanding what he meant. Neji broke the Byakugan and shook his head. “I don't think we'll have to worry about the enemy believing that Team 7 has nothing to do with this mission. They are highly occupied at the moment.”
Neji neglected to inform Rock Lee or Ten-Ten about the details that he had witnessed, he didn't feel like having it be the topic of discussion for the entire mission. With Ten-Ten's love to secretly gossip with her team about their friends and Rock Lee's attitude that he adopted from Gai about the joys of love and passion, Neji was sure that incessant prattle would definitely ensue. It was because of this that the male Hyuuga kept the fact that he had witnessed the entirety of Sasuke and Naruto's intimate interlude to himself.

Kiba crept into the area where Hinata had walked to find a secluded spot to use the restroom. If she ever discovered his voyeuristic ways Kiba knew that he would find himself in a heaping of hurt. He couldn't help it. Even though they were in their twenties Kiba couldn't stop himself from being a bit childish about the crush that he had on his teammate. It felt too wrong to attack it like the rest of the so-called relationships he had been party to. Those usually involved a little alcohol, a lot of sex, and a girl Kiba never called again. He didn't want that from Hinata, he wanted more…but he had no idea how to go about it. This is why Kiba found himself resigned only to being a peeping tom, and he had peeped on many occasions.
This time Kiba found Hinata crouching behind some bushes, completely unaware of his presence thanks to many years of arduous training against her Byakugan, allowing Kiba to hide himself avoid her easily. He grinned wickedly, knowing that he these were the moments that he could usually get a good eyeful, leaving him with things to fantasize about for weeks.

Kiba noticed something odd, she was using her blood line trait already. Was she scouting the area for enemy? The scent that was his favorite smell in the world wafted into Kiba's nose, and he knew exactly what it was. Though she was fully clothed while ducked in the bush, not even an extra ounce of flesh showing, he could smell the feminine arousal radiating from her as she stared off into the distance. He followed the direction of her gaze and realized that she was watching the area that they had left Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto.
Naughty girl! Kiba thought to himself.
It was actually a rare thing for Kiba to sense her arousal, mostly because it happened so little. The first time he had convinced Hinata to come drinking with them. Naruto had been there, and a slightly tipsy Hinata started flirting with the blonde, less daunted by her shyness than she usually was. Kiba had smelled it on her then, and he definitely smelled it on her now. He snuck closer to where she was until he was only feet away. He didn't care if she found out about his peeping, this was too good to give up.
“I would have never picked you for the voyeuristic type Hinata.”
She immediately jumped out of her trance and Kiba found him on his back with Hinata straddling his chest and holding a kunai to his throat with a confused look on her face. “Kiba?” she asked very quietly, and then blushed because she realized what he had witnessed her doing. “Don't scare me like that, I could have killed you.”
Kiba didn't say a word in response, he was in a trance from her scent. It was too erotic to let his mind break free of the lustful daze he was in. Kiba grabbed her hips with his strong forceful hands pulled her close so that she was no longer straddling his chest, but his head.
“KIBA! Stop it, we are on a very important mission! We do not have time for your games.” Hinata firmly told him. It wasn't an overly angry tone, but Kiba knew that she rarely was pushed into anger. He allowed himself to once again revel in her scent. “KIBA!”
“I was only following the example given by my team leader,” Kiba growled in a pleasant and unthreatening way. His mouth was so close to her that she could feel the vibrations of the words in her…
Hinata leapt to her feet realizing exactly what part of her anatomy had been pressed against Kiba's mouth. “We don't have time for this Kiba. We are on a mission. I'm sorry that I was…um…distracted,” Hinata got very quiet and he swore he saw her entire body flush with embarrassment, “but we do need to stick to the target.” Kiba gave her a frustrated look, but knew that she was right. Hinata had already sat him down and told him that this mission was too important to have him unfocused. But if she smelled like that for the rest of the day, that was exactly what he was going to be.

Naruto and Sasuke finally drug themselves to dry land and began dressing. There was silence between the two, but not in an awkward way. Sasuke would catch a glimpse of Naruto and smile at him. Naruto found Sasuke's shirt intermingled with his own clothing and gently helped his partner put it on. Sasuke brushed off a bit of dirt that was smudged on Naruto's face and then stroked a cheek with his thumb. Naruto leaned in a gently kissed his teammate, just long enough to elicit the butterflies in Sasuke's stomach. Naruto pulled away from him and whispered words that Sasuke had not expected and was not prepared for, “I love you.”

Kakashi and Sakura had finally broken their embrace and were sitting side by side against a large tree. He filled her in on the details of the mission given to him by the Hokage earlier in the morning. Sakura listened intently to him. Kakashi could see the wheels moving in her mind as she silently planned strategies to herself. Kakashi would lead this mission, but he always took her advice during mission preparation, she was brilliant when it came to strategy.
Sakura's penchant for strategy made Kakashi wonder if she had planned her prodding of his emotions that caused the earlier eruption and sequentially his near breakdown that was to follow. Before when Sakura was holding him, Kakashi had nearly disclosed to her the memories that were plaguing him. He hadn't been in the right frame of mind, but luckily the words stuck in his throat like they usually did. It would have been foolish to tell her the terrible things that he had lived through in his past, but they haunted him so frequently these days. Kakashi knew that nightmares were ever present on the surface of his mind, and this was dangerous to him. He wasn't ready for her to be so intimately acquainted with him…he wasn't ready for any person to take this role. The thing that scared Kakashi the most about it was that he could feel the walls that hid this part of him being knocked down one after another by her and the rest of his team. His defenses were crumbling inside of him, and this was frightening.

“Now.” Neji's single worded command let his team know that it was time and they were instantly leaping through the forest toward the Hidden Village of Sand. It would only be a matter of time before they would have their first conflict with the enemy, so the adrenaline ran very high as they silently moved toward their target.
Ten-Ten had desperately wanted to decline this mission when she found out that the other team assigned to it included her husband of five years. Unfortunately, declining was not even a remote possibility. It wasn't spoken, but she knew that death for at least one or two of the six people was likelihood. Shino and Ten-Ten were both aware of this. They would gladly give their lives to protect the village, but her heart also ached because she knew it was possible that neither of them would return alive. If this happened she would be leaving her twin boys and young daughter orphaned. Ten-Ten knew from her friends like Naruto and Sasuke (who had lived the fear she had for her children) that being an orphan was a terrible life to have. Ten-Ten was glad that she and Shino were on separate teams, because she knew that it would only be more of a distraction to her if Shino was close. At least now she could focus herself more without his presence. She sighed hastened to follow her team.

Hinata scanned the area again and gave her team a nod. They were flying quickly through the terrain without a word. The incident with Kiba had left her a little anxious. Not because of the perverted thing he had done after she nearly killed him with her kunai, but because of what had followed that.

When walking back to where Shino was Kiba had hurried his pace to catch up with her and pulled Hinata to a stop. Kiba held her from behind. His strong arms had shaken a little as he clutched her to his body, “Don't get yourself killed Hinata, we both need to come home from this mission alive.”
Hinata remembered being completely shocked as he nuzzled his face into the back of her neck and gently kissed her shoulder. He followed that action with a light nip, which she knew to be the canine equivalent to showing intimate affection. He released her and continued walking without another word, leaving her completely unnerved.
Kiba? Was it possible that he had feelings for her?
Hinata had always been so wrapped up in either her crush on Naruto or her duties as team leader to notice the young man that was always in her proximity. Now that he had made his intentions known, she couldn't think of anything else. She blushed as her mind considered the possibility of being with Kiba. Hinata had never realized how stunningly handsome he grown up to be, but she was definitely aware of it now. The feelings that she had saved exclusively for Naruto for so many years were now being transferred to a more familiar friend. She couldn't help but to smile as she quickened her pace and moved to lead her team into danger.

“What?” It wasn't exactly the reaction that Naruto had been looking for. He was hoping for an `I love you too, Naruto' like Sakura's response, but that was apparently wishful thinking.
Naruto responded to Sasuke by repeating his previous declaration, “I love you.” He watched as Sasuke's eyes (which had been wide with surprise) softened a bit and then looked less apprehensive about Naruto's second assertion of his feelings. Naruto wasn't answered by words, but warm lips pressed against his. Naruto's lover's lips never uttered the words “I love you” but they said more with their silent attention than a verbal statement ever did. Naruto should have known that Sasuke would not be the type to articulate his feelings…it just wasn't like him to do so.
The kiss was broken by their two teammates purposely treading loudly toward them. Sakura smiled a big grin and Naruto wondered what exactly had gone on when she drug Kakashi away, he didn't let this stop him from asking. “Did ya get lucky?”
Sakura glanced at Kakashi and shook her head, Naruto noticed the slight disappointment in her eyes. “There is something important that we need to discuss.”
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, wondering exactly what could be so vital. Kakashi with his normal lazy and unaffected look answered Sasuke's silent question when he merely said, “Mission.”
